It's confusing but there are two players with the scrum caps on. One is Cheslin Kolbe who has been one of the best players in the world for the last 4 years and then the other is a youngster who has just made his debut for the Springboks this year. Kurtley Arendse. You should react to a Cheslin Kolbe tribute video to appreciate his brilliance he creates tries on his own.
People are misunderstanding, when the title says most feared it probably means hardest or most physical team, and in a sense it’s not fun playing against the Springboks

The number is not a player's shirt number, rather a starting position. 11 and 14 are wings. When Kolbie or Arendse start they play at 14. In test matchs teams can replace 8 players, so usually shirt number 16 and 17 will replace 1, 2, or 3 and so on. So the starting 11, 14 or 15 will usually be replaced by 22 or 23.
That's why in this video you'll see Arendse play as both numbers 14 and 23
Is there a "captain position", then?
I know Francois Pienaar and Siyamthanda Kolisi both wear 6, I was sure that was the captains number.

I see you got confused with Kurt Lee Arendse and Cheslin Kolbe, its understandable because they are both number 14 players, they both small and they both wear scrum caps. so yeah there are two little speedy guys not just one

I remember hearing a story about one of the best rugby players. In tge first half he had 3 teeth knocked out and while down on the ground after the hit his opponent "accidently " kicked him in the bits. So now he has to get up and play on which they did and they won the game . After the gamer in the locker room he got undressed and heard wtf??? . His ball sack had been ruptured and was hanging out. These guys are just brutal on another level.
Cheslyn Colby was a 7's player and he is amazingly quick and agile.

The reason for the fight at 4:48 was because in the previous game between these two teams the last tackler (Marika Koroibete), stopped a try in the exact way that the south African winger (Makazole Mapimpi) just scored.

1. Gio Aplon(he's the OG, started it all. Had to fight to get small wingers recognised. Still really good. But not playing international rugby anymore)
2. Cheslin Kolbe(Started at same club as Aplon. Learnt from the best and became the worlds best)
3. Kurtly Arendse(New on the scene. Very hot but have to compete with Kolbe for position)
4. Thaakir Abrahams(not a Springbok yet, but very much recognised in domestic rugby)
5. Edwill Van Der Merwe(Same as Abrahams)

Who told you South Africa is the most feared? Cos that's not true. Historically, the most feared team is New Zealand. As of right now though? Its probably France or Ireland. Not to mention a lot of teams also fear playing any of the Pacific Nations for their bone crunching tackles.

You should see the evolution of Springboks rugby from the all-white, or all white with two black wingers, to a team where blacks and whites play tough, fast, and (this is after the whites understood the blacks fantasy) spectacular rugby. From just a plan "A" strategy to a various kinds of play. Off course the blacks had to understand the whites too. Sacrifice, to be fearless and, mainly, very intimidating. It's not question of races, I dont't believe on this crap, but just different culture and approach. So now can see a white making a trick play and a black one making a frontal charge. The amalgamation was very fast and the "quota" rule accelerated the amalgamation. Yes, they are sometimes "nasty", but this is their attitude. There was somebody like Eben Etzebeth before him, and there will be other ones after him. It maybe next one will be black. Who cares? By the way, I love when Etzebeth intimidates smiling!

@@Edgycoo I think the difference is that there are really only 2 teams that consistently win when it truly matters, World Cup knockouts...and that is only the All Blacks, and Springboks. That is the scorecard if you will. No denying there are a lot of great teams at the minute, but they will only be remembered in history if they can overcome stage-fright and win when the chips are down in a World Cup final. Maybe this year will be that year? Who knows, only time will tell. But we've had may pretenders before World Cups, and not many of them have managed to live up to the hype when it really matters. Good luck in the WC though, going to be a great one!
