ok as a former 95 YJ owner and a current proud owner of a TJ (03) this video had me going on a few emotions. When she fired up..SWEET! When you call her a piece of junk..frowny face ;) lol Yes she is old, yes she is rotted to the frame..and beyond..but she did fire! God this jeep is tired but come on..its a jeep! Give her some ..just a tad more TLC and keep her on the grounds as a fun bus. Something to tool around and simply enjoy. She aint what she used to be but as other jeep owners on here will attest to..she has character ;) Cape Cod, MA
Throttle Position Potentiometer Performance loss. Check to be sure sensor mounted on throttle linkage under right hand side panel is fully plugged in. just replace the tps sensor and its good to go. usually it gets worn out and becomes inaccurate
Funny seeing all these comments from people looking up the issue.. They are correct Bill, I work with this machine every day she's a great workhorse.. Anyways, we had a problem with her a little while back, same issue. Just as everyone's saying open up the side panel.. Near the throttle you'll notice a couple plugs one will be larger in laymans terms check that plug most likely it just wiggled itself loose that's what happened to me Was so happy to find your channel a while back, it's been very helpful in working on our tlb.. I've learned a lot from your vids bill would be great to get your contact, I have a specific question for you regarding our 110 right now, would be awesome to get you expertise
I can tell you enjoyed that jeep ! Make it a long term project over time when you have extra money.Fix the frame first then clean the carb and then fix the brakes.Just patch the frame with your welder.
Its already a long term project. He's had it forever and just now started it back up again. I understand why he just wants to put is on the street because he doesnt have the time or funds to do what needs to be done to it. I think it should be kept for stuff like what he used it for today. Having fun. Use it to go around and check on things and make sure everything is good at 8 pm. Then take it down that trail when nobody is looking eh bill?? Lol
Yeah he did enjoy it. It would be a shame if he just gave up on it. I could see his side if say the engine just died and wouldnt start again untill he bought a new engine. But a long term project sounds great!
Bill just a suggestion , the matter of the JD 110 tlb , maybe you should have the John Deere people come have a look at it ,, since you need that machine , they may be able to service and get it up and running for you ? i wish you the best of luck with that matter bud ,,,, also nice to see the old Jeep running again !! great video today !!
it is # 3 I think is your problem.Diagnostic Indicator Fault Codes When reading a code, let the code cycle several times to be sure you are at the beginning of the code. A 3 to 4 second off period occurs between each four pulse flash sequence. Each flash is either long (one second, -) or short (one-half second, ·). It's your Throttle Position Potentiometer. Check to be sure your sensor mounted on the throttle linkage under right hand side panel is fully plugged in. This is what the owners manuel says!
Couple things I think could be causing your tractor to lose power is that your air intake is some how plugged or you are low on engine coolant or your fuel filter is plugged or your fuel injectors might be gummed up hope my advice helps love your videos
Hey Bill try some of these Original Problem: Machine was operating all right but occasionally it would hesitate when stepping on the reverse pedal. It also seemed sluggish when road running from one location to another. Engine RPM was constant and good but speed of machine seemed to reduce and engine RPM would increase slightly. Would get an occasional #9 (one long and three short) error code but it didn't seem to effect anything and it would clear itself after a few moments. Trouble shooting so far: 1) Checked trans. fluid level 2) Checked for damaged hoses and leaks 3) Decided to run an automatic recalibration of the HST, move the 10 amp fuse from F11 to F12 to start the auto calibration. The error light came on solid like it said it would then I started the machine and I got two error code, # 1 Forward Pedal Potentiometer and #10 Valve Output to Forward or Reverse solenoid coil. 4) I readjusted the forward potentiometer and got it within specs. and the # 1 error code is now gone. 5) Next I checked the resistance on the fwd. and rev. proportional solenoid both read 7.0 ohms (specs. are 6.0-7.0 ohms). 6) Next I checked the resistance in the wiring from the HST controller to the fwd. and rev. solenoids both ground and power leads. No open circuits and no shorts. 7) Next I checked the HST proportional solenoid test isconnected the X12 throttle potentiometer connection per manual instructions. Connected the amp meter to the solenoid wirers, with engine running at low idle and foot pedal pressed I got no reading on either solenoid. I wonder if this is because of the # 10 error code is flashing. 8) Not knowing what else to check I went through and reset all the potentiometersnching, throttle, fwd. and rev. All are set to factory specs. I know where to go from here everything checks out ok except for the amperage test on the fwd. and rev. solenoids but as I said, I wonder if that because of the error code. The manual says this code is because of a shorted or open circuit on the solenoids but everything checks out fine. The only other thing I will note is that the safety switches on the seat have been by passed because they are inoperative know if this would have any effect. Also as I said at the beginning the machine was working before the auto recalibration cleared the HST. I realize now that I shouldn稚 have done this but according to the manual this should not have been a big deal. Any suggestions you might have would be greatly appreciated. We have no John Deere dealers in kind of in a bind. We need to get this machine running because we have crops that we need to get on the ground.
The code may be for your ground travel speed sensor circuit. You are either out of calibration or loosing signal from your speed sensor. Check your wiring and sensor ( replace if needed). To reset the code and recalibrate, your tractor will have to be plugged in by the dealer. I hope this helps
Wouldn't it be better to have the Funeral directors send you an email with their grave digging requests AND call you on the cemetery phone. This would give you proof to show that the guy never called you. Emails can be set up so that the sender actually gets a notice that you have received and read the message that they sent you.

Yeah, I definitely dont remember that machine struggling like that. Thats always been a VERY strong machine for you bud. Its almost like the engine isnt getting enough air or fuel under load which isnt letting it make the power it needs to complete the task its trying to do.

Maybe some engine oil from changing the oil filter on the 110 dribbled into the sensor wiring harness causing some resistance in the connection.

weld up the frame, fix fuel pump and lines, bleed brakes, find a cheap used t-case. weld up the front and rear end.. make a trail rig!
