Thank you thank you thank you thank you so so so much for this list, was such a pleasure to watch! I mentioned in the comments of your Spongebob games video Globs of Doom because it was technically considered a Spongebob game, I suppose they decided to make it more of a Spongebob game in order to sell more copies although teenage me still bought it when it came out because at the time, the Nicktoons Unite series was my favorite game series. I wanted to hear your opinion on the game & I'm so happy that I got that here. My childhood with games was awkward, I'm 28 years old now so I was around some classics but I didn't know what to play so I just went with what was familiar to me & my parents weren't much help, when I got my PS2 for Christmas, the games they included in with the system were Pacman Fever, Wheel of Fortune, & Shrek's Super Party which ended up being some of my childhood games as weird as that is to say but yeah, I was the sort who played it safe & typically would play games that had a sense of familiarity to them. When Nicktoons Unite came out, I saved up my allowance & went scrounging around for all the loose change I could find in the couch cushions in order to buy it for myself because my dad wouldn't get it for me when I asked for it, he said I was too old to play a game with cartoon characters, I was like 13 or 14 at the time. I saved up & got it myself & this one was MY game, all the other games I had, I had to share with my younger sister (we did not get along at all & still don't) even the games I picked out at the store because my parents paid for them but Nicktoons Unite was MINE & I was not sharing it. She begged me to play it, told on me for not sharing, & so on but I never got in trouble because it was my game. I bought each game in the series the following years, it was tradition & was sad that they stopped at 4. I find it funny that the only two games I was able to complete in the Nicktoons Unite series were Battle for Volcano Island & Globs of Doom & they both made it onto this list. I wanted to complete Nicktoons Unite but that stupid flea man, that stupid flea. I know how to beat it (pun because you beat a drum to knock it off when it's healing) but I was never fast enough & my friends hated playing that level with me because I would be a little controlling with telling them what to do, one of us would beat the drum & the other would fight the flea, we would swap roles because there was always complaining on both sides, a big factor being the stupid camera issue. I just have some bad memories of that level & never got past it. As for Attack of the Toybots, it's my most disliked one in the series, I struggled to get past some parts in the levels only to find I didn't collect enough in there & I was just done with that game, I don't hate it, I just am not fond of it but I have been dying to know the story & stuff so maybe I might watch all the cut scenes or a lets play or something because I did dust off the old PS2 a few years back because I bought Dokapon Kingdom for it & was excited to play, figured I'd revisit some games I never completed & I was still ticked playing Attack of the Toybots as an adult. I thought since I was older & had more experience with games that I'd have an easier time but NOPE! Sorry, I love the Nicktoons Unite series & could yammer on about them all day such as Jack with his obsession with ghosts but I can stop. Danny Phantom is one of my all time favorite shows & let's face it, his video games kinda sucked, I tried playing the Urban Jungle one, I barely got into it & could tell it was garbage but maybe part of that comes from the fact that I have a bit of a distaste for the episode Urban Jungle due to the fact that I watched Danny Phantom as it was released, which was not in order & the way they released Urban Jungle was awful! Yeah, if you ever do a worst & best list of Nick .com games, that one STUPID Danny Phantom game where you freeze stuff has to be on the worst list like come on, there's a bunch of objects that you get to see in a block of ice? That is not a game, I'm sorry. I remember Nickelodeon heavily advertising that game when Urban Jungle was going to come out & of course me being excited had high hopes only to be let down, hard, the episode also being a disappointment given it's supposed to be like halfway through season 3, things introduced in the second episode of the third season play a heavy role in it & they decided to premiere Urban Jungle first? I was so confused. Yeah, so long story short, Danny Phantom has a history of bad games but the Nicktoons Unite games rock & all of them have Danny in it so it was my way of playing as him in a video game & yeah, I think some of my friends weren't happy that I hogged Danny whenever we played Nicktoons Unite together.
When you see a Nickelodeon game that isn't Spongebob, there's a lot of variety that we never could've foreseen. The crossover games (preferably with effort put in) are a satisfying experience to all.
Yeah the Legend of Korra game was frustrating; First off, the early game was really, really frustrating. Chapter 2 was where you had to fight chi blockers which also had ranged attacks and could even use cuffs to make you wrestle the L-stick. Until I found out that you could just spam the counterattack system. IF you didn't know how to do this, Chapter 2/3 is going to be unforgivingly hard, especially against the Triads. The storyline made absolutely no sense. We fight against the Triads at Air Temple Island, but the cutscene after that shows Korra defeating the Chi Blockers instead. It basically sounds like someone who's acting like some genie is giving Korra her bending back by earning it., first by Spirit Water and the other three via combat. The bending was horribly balanced. Waterbending got you out of the frustrating early game, Earthbending was basically a decent heavy melee, Firebending was crap but Airbending was insane, it made the other three bending useless aside from Waterbending which you can use on enemies from distances and especially the final boss. Schizophrenic difficulty curve, the earlier stages are too frustrating but the last three stages are too easy because the spirits are easier than the chi blockers/equalists And to top it all off; *THAT MECHA TANK TRIO FIGHT.* Though considering the reputation of licensed games, these games getting mixed/negative reviews aren't surprising to me. I knew TMNT was going to suck seeing the 5 minute cooldowns, dumb AI and the parts where you had to hold the button down for 20 seconds.
I think you should do a "Top 5 Best and Worst Rugrats Games" video, because while Rugrats had an awesome show, it was pretty hit-or-miss when it came to video games. There were some memorable ones like Search For Reptar and Royal Ransom, but also some stinkers like the Game Boy Color games (there were four of them, and every single one of them was bad enough to land on the "The Problem With Licensed Games" page on TvTropes).
I'm just going to put this out there that I love Party Blast. Sure I haven't played it since I was like...8 but it brings back a lot of great memories of playing video games with my family. Even my brother who is 6 years older then me enjoyed playing the game and that's saying a lot since he was playing a lot different games by that time. But as a kid I enjoyed it and sure at this point i probably would only enjoy it for the nostalgia but I have a lot of memories of it as a kid and I don't have any frustrations against it which for kid me is rare since I still refuse to touch legend of zeldas spirit tracks because I played the ds version as a kid and rage quit....but still kid me liking a game was rare but I'm probably biased. I still like playing Wii games so what do I know 🤷
That Korea game's early game play concept is so stupid because it ignores that you CAN'T block Korra's bending, no matter what you try. You block her ability to use Earth, Fire and Water bending? She's has her Air bending and vice versa. If it's chi blocking and not blood bending... that's very short term, maybe half an hour real time, tops
Battle for Volcano Island is a fantastic game. It's fun and in my opinion, it's timeless. It was different than the console version of the game, but I even enjoyed the DS version.
We need a Nicktoons Cinematic Universe. Imagine at the end of the third Spongebob movie Jimmy Neutron comes though a portal asking for his assistance in uniting a team.
I remember my mom walked in when I was watching a vid of his and she said he reminded her of Steve and Joe from Blue's Clues. I'd say it's a fair assessment since he's such a wholesome guy.
Too bad some of these iconic characters were wasted in some terrible games. 1:00 Like Nickelodeon Kart Racers was purely made to rip-off Mario Kart and cash-in on 1990's nostalgic characters with the exception of the TMNT 2012 characters being in the game.
Blue storm to be fair even if you get holder it depends on the quality of the product .Nick at the moment for their shows doesn’t have that much Nicktoons on their lineup
24:09-Its strange that Cat from CatDog has a different voice in Nicktoons Party Blast, while they did get Tom Kenny back as Dog,it’s a shame they didn’t get the original voice actor for Cat(Jim Cummings)to reprise his role too
What's worse about the Legend of Korra game is that this and TMNT Mutants in Manhattan being budgeted is what soured PlatinumGames reputation for hack-n-slash games. Good thing that Nier Automata and Astral Chain (and probably the upcoming Bayonetta and Granblue Fantasy games) are bringing their reputation back.
Although people were skeptical about the inclusion of Jojo Swia in a racing game. At least Wreck It Ralph in Sonic Racing Transformed Make sense since the former was technically a Video Game Character.
Personally. I think it would sweet as Heaven if we got An Avatar, My Life As A Teenage Robot, And Danny Phantom Crossover (Done As An Animated Special Similar to the Jimmy/Timmy Power Hour Crossover Specials). Although If Butch Hartman has any involvement in it or if it's anything like The Last Airbender Live Action Film (Or Season 1 Of Korra)!! Don't make it a thing!!
The worst part about Legend of Korra: it was developed by PLATINUM Games. AKA the same people who made Bayonetta, MadWorld, and Nier Automata. Who already proved they can make some of the best hack and slash experiences ever programmed. Even the fact that this was a licensed game shouldn't matter because they also made Transformers Devastation. WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED HERE??
For me Nicktoons: Battle for Volcano Island is still my favorite Nicktoons video game..I like the story, the environments, the music ESPECIALLY the music it was the first game I actually 100% as a kid when it first came out and it always will have a special place in my heart.
Yeah same. I loved the final level the most, I liked the subtle jokes that Nickelodeon fans would understand, the 2000's was just about the best era for Nickelodeon, and I'm sure lots of people would agree.
Also worth mentioning... Jimmy Neutron: Attack of the Twonkies was a very good game in my opinion. It was a huge part of my childhood, so mabye that's why I love it so much. So happy you included FOP: Shadow Showdown as well. That game was fantastic as a kid.
19:46 Question... how can Toph play baseball? She can sense vibrations and any kind of earth-based stuff, sure, but how could she know how to swing the bat to hit a baseball? That sounds impossible to me XD
+John Cohagen Agreed. Fortunately, a sequel has been announced. Why is this a good thing, you ask? Because this sequel will have more than twice as many characters as the first. Not only do the franchises in the first game have more characters (Chuckie Finster, Gerald Johanssen, and Squidward Tentacles), but more Nicktoons franchises will be added, including Ren & Stimpy, Rocko's Modern Life, CatDog, Invader Zim, Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Legend of Korra, and The Loud House. The sequel will be hopefully be what the first game should have been.
Sega and Sonic All-Stars Racing is one of the greatest Sonic series (take note, Archie Sonic!). Mario Kart is a good series, but far from one of my favourite Mario series up to the ranks of Mario RPG (Paper Mario/Mario & Luigi) before the 2010s because Mario Kart 64 is one of my least favourite instalments of the series along with MKT m.ua-cam.com/video/Li1M1HvNcNo/v-deo.html www.crappygames.miraheze.org/wiki/Mario_Kart_Tour. Nickelodeon Kart, on the other hand, well, it’s Nickelodeon, so whatever is subpar from the whole studio will be *full* of cringe!
Zedonathin Well, he was basically absent from Volcano Island aside from one level. I guess by Globs of Doom they just up and swapped him (and Crocker, I guess) for ZiM and Dib
Invadar FNW but here’s the strange part, Invader Zim has been over for about 6 years at that point, meanwhile Fairly OddParents was right in the middle of airing its 6th season. So my guess is either A. This game was primarily developed throughout FOP’s hiatus in 2007, and by the time it was revived it was to late to add any FOP content B. The show was already revived when the game began development, but because of that, Tara Strong would’ve been too busy with the production of season 6 to lend any help with it and even if FOP couldn’t have been there, they could’ve added something that was actually airing the network at the time, i.e. El Tigre, Barnyard, Mr. Meaty and so on.
@@ceoofgex7552 Glad that you like it I played it ones and I didn’t like it but it’s not Bad or terrible but I would rank it 1 below Nickelodeon Kart Racers and did y’all know about the sequel to Nickelodeon Kart Racers
On IMDb, Jim Cummings was credited for voicing Cat in Nickelodeon Party Blast. Maybe the reason why Cat did not sound like himself was because Jim Cummings had been too busy working on other shows (especially on Disney), and he probably did not have enough time to rehearse. It also could be possible that a different voice actor was hired, or Tom Kenny tried to do the voice himself.
ABMFanGirl 1999 oh it definitely sounds like Tom Kenny filled in. But Jim Cummings has a very recognizable voice . But even if he couldn’t have time to record they should just credit the other guy performing as Cat .
@@the-nina-beans88 IMDb must have been wrong about the credits for the game. CatDog were the only characters who spoke, since they were the hosts. Despite the fact that the playable characters never spoke and only used sound effects, their voice actors were still credited (Joseph Ashton as Otto Rocket, Lacey Chabert as Eliza Thornberry, Cheryl Chase as Angelica Pickles, EG Daily as Tommy Pickles, Debi Derryberry as Jimmy Neutron, Shayna Fox as Reggie Rocket, Richard Horvitz as Zim, and Tom Kenny as SpongeBob). I am sorry if I am giving you too much detail about the cast. Since Jim Cummings obviously did not voice Cat, Tom Kenny seems to be only person who did the voice-work (by voicing both Cat and Dog).
@@ABMFanGirl The voices for Otto and Reggie must have been able to voice them since they were still active at the time. Ashton retired a few years later while Shayna worked for a little longer and then eventually got out of acting
I miss all of those Nicktoon crossover games. I would’ve love to see them do more like with the Ninja Turtles and the Loud Family, it’s sad that nowadays they’re more or less sport games or chart racing games.
Good news: We are getting Nickelodeon All Star Brawl which is Nickelodeons version of Smash Bros and made by the same people who created Slap City. We got TMNT and Loud House representation along with Powdered Toast Man and Nigel Thornberry.
This has nothing to do with negativity, but I always wonder why we like video games so much we want them remade yet we like certain films so much that we only want one of them (I do know why we prefer the originals to remakes when it comes to Disney films; it’s because of how their visuals differ from each other where the animated counterparts have artistically professional work put into them, while the remakes are just so over-CGd).
I absolutely loved it when different nick toons had collaborated to make a game. Now, the games are so far apart with all the slice of life and reality tv shows. No show is so exciting that you can make a game with all of them fighting any more (Notice that I said exciting enough. Not good enough). Those older shows either ended or got cancelled. I miss those days.
If it's any consolation, Nick Kart Racers 2 was released seven months after you made this list, and it's a massive improvement (although, I do find it odd that it still does not have any voices).
ooooo boy is this is my kind of video to comment on. Nice list, Strider, and I agree with most of your points. However... Attack of the Toybots (game 2 of the Nicktoons Crossover Saga) should've been on the Worst list somewhere. It had no direction and you'd be lucky to make it to level 3 while having no idea what you're supposed to be doing. Personally, I would've swapped Globs of Doom and Volcano Island's placements. I liked both, they were for sure the best out of the Nicktoons Saga, but Globs of Doom actually utilized all of the Nicktoons! Volcano Island was just Spongebob and Danny Phantom; Timmy's playable in ONE level, and Jimmy doesn't even show up in person! The best part of Volcano Island was definitely the big/little brother relationship between Danny and Spongebob... aside from the gameplay, obviously. You also missed a few games, however... got an opinion? Fairly Oddparents: Breakin Da Rulez was the weaker of the two FOP games, but it still holds up IMO, and once again the voice acting is great. It's pretty similar to Shadow Showdown, actually. If you liked Shadow Showdown, at least check out a let's play of Breakin Da Rulez. Barnyard got it's own game too, and it's kind of unique in structure. It's a mission-based game where Custom Cow (you) goes around doing missions and playing minigames with the characters... but the world is totally open (once you unlock all the areas). You have a story to do, but you can also just do whatever the hell you want! Other games have an open world, sure, but unlike others where you kind of have nothing to do except maybe farm currency, you can actually do stuff in Barnyard between missions: buy/sell stuff at a shop, make recipes, play games... it's kind of amazing! The main nitpick though, is the missions get repetitive (IE you'll have to play a golfing minigame like 5 times throughout the game). The Rugrats had... a lot console games, apparently, way back when (and most of the graphics aged like milk). They were all decent in one way or another; my personal favorites are The Search for Reptar and Scavenger Hunt. Check them out!
I remember playing the first Nicktoons Unite when I was really young. I liked the Amity Park world a lot, but it's been so long I don't really remember it much.
When I was little, my dad had an Xbox and my parents got me Nicktoons Party Blast for it I... Only occasionally played it. I was like 6 and really bad at it, and I admittedly didn't enjoy it enough to get better
@@phantomstrider yes. From my parents getting me a video game with Jimmy and Spongebob on the box Didn't help that I hated CatDog as a kid and those two are the "hosts"...
Suggestion for next video. Top 5 best and worst Pokémon spin off games. The only ones I’ve ever played are Pokémon GO, Pokémon Quest, and 3 Pokémon Mystery Dungeon games, (Gates to Infinity, Super Mystery Dungeon, and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Rescue Team DX)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan is a decent game. It's fun to play, the 4 actually work together and the controls and combat are solid enough. The one downside is the graphics are kinda ugly which is surprising as the artwork on the game cover is a cool looking comic book style
To clarify, V3DMM is made for the original 3DMM. You can enable the Doraemon Pack, unused assets, and the Nick characters as well. You can also add characters from Mario, Pokémon, The Simpsons, the other Nicktoons (i.e. XJ-9, Spongebob, Arnold), Garfield, Thomas the Tank Engine, etc. V3DMM was released in 2004, and opened a new door (and life) for Microsoft’s 3D Movie Maker.
I played every Nicktoons game except the first one. Battle for Volcano Island is such a nostalgia trip, I can recite each memorable cutscene, I remember every sound effect. I can tell by just looking at a level which one it is, and who you discover. I remember the hidden items you could get. The movie theater, the zoo, the art gallery, they are all so ingrained in my mind. This game taught me that there were boundaries where if you crossed them, a cutscene would play (from level 5, The Great Carapace). It taught me about challenging gameplay from levels four, six, and ten. It's all so good.

3:46 I REMEMBER THAT GAME ON THE DS
I GOT A SUDDEN NOSTALGIA BLAST
I'd love to see the Tak and the Power of Juju series make a comeback. Yeah the TV Show wasn't great, but the video games are pretty underrated.
We love ya, PhantomStrider! :D
Yeah the Legend of Korra game was frustrating;
First off, the early game was really, really frustrating.
Schizophrenic difficulty curve, the earlier stages are too frustrating but the last three stages are too easy because the spirits are easier than the chi blockers/equalists
And to top it all off;
*THAT MECHA TANK TRIO FIGHT.*
Though considering the reputation of licensed games, these games getting mixed/negative reviews aren't surprising to me.
I still like playing Wii games so what do I know 🤷
I love seeing this channel grow, and gain more and more personality.
I was really happy that Globs of Doom was considered one of the best. The Wii AND DS versions were my childhood.

Nickelodeon Kart is a bad fusion of Mario Kart and Sonic All Stars Racing.
What about Fairly Odd Parents, Danny Phantom, or Jimmy Neutron? And will we get voices and a better soundtrack this time?

because coneheaded ZiM looks worse
Here’s an even bigger question, why is nobody mentioning Timmy Turner being absent from Globs of Doom?
Zedonathin Well, he was basically absent from Volcano Island aside from one level. I guess by Globs of Doom they just up and swapped him (and Crocker, I guess) for ZiM and Dib
Invadar FNW but here’s the strange part, Invader Zim has been over for about 6 years at that point, meanwhile Fairly OddParents was right in the middle of airing its 6th season. So my guess is either
A. This game was primarily developed throughout FOP’s hiatus in 2007, and by the time it was revived it was to late to add any FOP content
B. The show was already revived when the game began development, but because of that, Tara Strong would’ve been too busy with the production of season 6 to lend any help with it
and even if FOP couldn’t have been there, they could’ve added something that was actually airing the network at the time, i.e. El Tigre, Barnyard, Mr. Meaty and so on.

I never want to imagine a world where Cat is not voiced by Jim Cummings..... this game just did that! That is not Jim Cummings!!!!

I hope we get a Battle for Volcano Island remake it was my favorite game from my childhood

@Alezander2002 well then. you're clearly smarter than me xD
