Thank you for sharing the incredible work you do. We have a half acre lot in a fairly rural area and in the last couple years have decided to rewild the majority of it, focusing on native species and providing wildlife habitat. It's not much, but it has already seen an increase in diversity. Seeing someone with similar habitat to our surrounding area (Eastern Ontario) has been inspiring!
Your channel is one of the few channels where i really feel so much joy when you upload a video and even more so watching your content. I've been following you since your wildlife pond video and I have not regreted a single second watching your videos! Keep up the amazing work, Stefano!
Great to see the various projects and ideas you're presenting. I have the luxury of being involved in the family homestead in northeast MN. We have 130 acres of various habitat types. No one lives on the property but I look to your videos for ideas that can be easily incorporated. Luckily I already have a good starting point. We did a logging project a few years ago to help support golden-winged warblers. We've also been systematically cutting back tag alder edges to help with regen and fostering more soft mast regrowth. It's a work in progress but we peck away here and there.
I watch a lot of UA-cam videos of various topics but this stands out. This video is what dreams are made of. Intelligent humans taking care of nature. Life can be depressing but watching this is comforting, I feel like this is what we were put on Earth for.
i was waiting so patiently for this ahahhaa so excited for the update!! i just moved out from home for the first time and am getting to know the birds living in the nice old trees by my first apartment. one day i hope to have land to cultivate for local wildlife just like this
Absolutely love seeing the updates from the homestead! Got it on my TV today and I had the whole family tune in and enjoy. Top quality bud can’t wait for the next video 💙
When you try to create standing Deadwood don't think the tree will die instantly. By removing the Bark and thereby the cambium the Tree will slowly lose energy because the nutrients created by the photosynthesis can't be transported down to the roots to be stored there. But water will still be transported up the tree. So your trees will probably die within the next two to four years. Greetings from a German forester
Thanks for the info! I’m not sure why I thought conifers would die quicker than deciduous trees by girdling. I’ll wait and see how they respond this year 🙂
You my friend are an absolute inspiration. From your photography / video / editing to the calmest voice of any other creator you are rocking it! Thanks for all that you do.
I was just looking for some background noise for my cooking. I will enjoy listening to this, then playing it again and watching it. Thank you so much for the top content. I hope 2025 gives you the 1 million subs, you definitely deserve it.
What an informative and beautiful documentary - so much more spellbinding than many we see put out on television. I love what you're doing with this space, exactly what nature needs more of. Thank you for sharing with us :)
I was so excited when the notification for your video showed up! Seeing the Homestead through a whole year is so much fun. Love the fox climbing the apple tree, it’s always surprising what good climbers they are. Agree with you about the benefits of not mowing the area at the front of the property, definitely gave native species a chance to grow, flower, and hopefully do some further seeding. Have a safe and comfortable winter. I’m already anticipating the spring video!
Your videos are such a joy! I had plans for this morning, but the notification changed them😂 I had a great-uncle who created a bird sanctuary on his land near portneuf (les jardins du merle bleue), and i always loved visiting when he was alive, but yours actually thinks of the whole ecosystems (even bats! 🥰) and it is a joy to watch native species thriving! I wish I had the means to do the same it sounds like a great place to live. A thing my uncle did was ask nearby horse farms for discarted horse hair and provide these for the bird. Apparently a sought after material for nesting birds (?). You might wanna try (although your land is so rich i don't think they need it.)
Sounds like a great place! Fur/Hair is often used to insulate the nest. We usually put out some of our pet hair since they all start shedding in the spring :)
Absolutely amazing! I am speechless and overwhelmed with so many emotions. Just so well done and i cannot imagine the work behind putting all this together
This is breathtaking, delicate, powerful, beautiful, vulnerable and remarkable. This documentary and your art in general are fenomenal. People need to see and acknowledge that other species are as important as ours. Their stories, their lives.. You have captured all into frames, moved by curiosity and love for nature, and masterfully crafted this testimony of life that too often goes unnoticed. The planet we share as home, and its creatures, must be protected. But we are doing such an awful job.
I just want to say Thank you for your work. The amount of effort you put is beyond amazing. Thank you very much for the contents. No wonder the world is amazing because of people like you.❤
Stefano, your beautiful videos always bring me so much joy. The gorgeous cinematography, the birds, and the calming music are a wonderful escape. My head is full of ideas now for ways that we can improve our smaller woodland property. Thank you for the inspiration. I can't wait to see what year 3 brings.
So many wonderful stories... This year-round video helps to understand how variable and dynamic the ecosystem is, shows the continious life-cycle. That's stunning. Thank you for what you do and for sharing it

Thanks so much, very kind!
I was just looking for some background noise for my cooking. I will enjoy listening to this, then playing it again and watching it. Thank you so much for the top content. I hope 2025 gives you the 1 million subs, you definitely deserve it.
So kind of you! Thank you for watching :)
Oh god, this is so soothing. Just so well-made. The music, your voice... An easy listen. 💜
Have a wonderful Christmas and New Year full of love and laughter, family and friends. Merry Christmas.🎄❤️
Thanks, love your content. Fredrik
Thank you for the support!! Happy New Year 🙂
What an informative and beautiful documentary - so much more spellbinding than many we see put out on television. I love what you're doing with this space, exactly what nature needs more of. Thank you for sharing with us :)
So glad you enjoyed it, thank you!
Greeting from Norway! love your projects and resulting videos. Beautifully done!
Really glad you enjoyed, thank you so much :)
Awesome ! What a treat to wake up to view, cozy with my morning cuppa. Thanks again !
Enjoy! :)
This is without a doubt the best UA-cam channel there is. Love your content.
Your videos are such a joy! I had plans for this morning, but the notification changed them😂
I had a great-uncle who created a bird sanctuary on his land near portneuf (les jardins du merle bleue), and i always loved visiting when he was alive, but yours actually thinks of the whole ecosystems (even bats!
Thanks so much, really glad you liked it!
No wonder the world is amazing because of people like you.❤
So kind, thank you!
What a great way of spending one hour and twenty three minutes and half of pure enjoyment. Great job as always!
Awesome to watch. This is well narrated and produced. Great job

Always look forward to your long video uploads! It's starting to become my new year tradition.
You are the only creator I could wait for so long for an episode, cause I know it will be fantastic to watch.
So nice to hear, good luck on your projects 🙂
Always excited for new episodes. Its honestly very inspiring and makes me want to put more effort into protecting wildlife myself.
One of the best channels on this website by far.
So kind of you, thank you so much for the support :)
So many wonderful stories... This year-round video helps to understand how variable and dynamic the ecosystem is, shows the continious life-cycle. That's stunning. Thank you for what you do and for sharing it

I can't wait to watch this. I'm moving to Maine next year and we are trying to get the best property possible so I can make a wildlife refuge as well - it's been my dream for years. I'm looking for prime location and as much acreage as I can afford, with the hope for expanding over time. Thank you for sharing and being an inspiration!
That sounds awesome! Congrats on the move and good luck with the property search!
Thank you! I'm taking notes from your experience 😊

I was looking for the update, thank you!
As always, a beautiful and amazing video. 😃
Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I agree with your conclusion about the second year growth on a previously mowed area. I had something similar happen on my property.
Your videos are of truly excellent quality, bravo!
Looking forward to seeing if your bat boxes are utilized.
Keep living the dream. 😊
Oh my goodness, Christmas came early. I’m going to enjoy every second of this video. Thank you!
Finished watching and I feel so inspired to get me a patch of land and help it thrive. Thanks again ❤
Wow! What an amazing story! More people need to focus on rewilding their environment for the benefit of our ecosystems.
Love your passion, and thanks for sharing your progress
Oh, how I have wished that you post something for Christmas - and here it is! Thank you so much and have beautiful holidays and a very happy New Year!
Hope you enjoyed it! Happy holidays and New Year to you too!
@@TheWildlifeHomestead Oh, I loved it!! So, so much! Maybe one suggestion for future videos - maybe a few parts with just the sounds of nature instead of music? Although I love the choice of music you make. Where do you get the tracks? I especially loved the two piano pieces you used!
Really enjoyed this review of the growth of your nature homestead.
Beautiful video, came here from someone sharing a link, glad i watched the whole thing. I'm impressed by the project you've taken on and the thoughtfulness you put into it, as well as the knowledge of species and the place you are taking care of. Great work.
So glad you were able to find the video, and I'm happy to hear you enjoyed it! Thanks so much
You are doing a great job!! How blessed you are to experience all this!! I did this as my job for 25 years, including wildlife rehabilitation! Keep up the good work! Debbie from Mid Michigan
