Transitional Diaconate 2023

Five men were ordained to the transitional diaconate May 20 at St. Louis Cathedral, three of whom will serve in the Archdiocese of New Orleans. The transitional diaconate is the final step before ordination to the priesthood next year.
The three New Orleans deacons are Austin Barr, Jorge Gomez and Cuong Tran. Paul Oyie was ordained for the Archdiocese of Tororo in Uganda and Lawrence Wumya was ordained for the Diocese of Yendi in Ghana.
