@@wookieeMan06 There is no man in the world who is talked about in all circles, and Bruce Lee is no exception. 99% of people I know are not interested in any story about Michael Jordan. Out of eight billion people, about seven million watched the NBA Finals on TV. Tokyo alone has a population of 37 million, which means that interest in basketball at the world level is miserable. Brusley's films were watched by incomparably more people than any sporting event. I am a former basketball player and I know incomparably more about the best basketball player of all time, Jordan, than I do about Bruce Lee, but I know that Bruce Lee is a bigger legend than Jordan.

@@wookieeMan06 I'm from pakistan and my family, close relatives and now friends are all over the world. While in the Gen Z Bruce Lee may not be as talked about as in earlier generations, but it seems to me that he is part of the 3 universally famous - as in pick a random person and what are the chances of them having heard of him / her. Michael Jackson was probably the most talked about and universally famous. And then Bruce Lee and Muhammad Ali. I mean people who never listened to English songs or had any interest in martial arts or boxing knew exactly who these 3 were and many of them even used their names to describe e.g. someone who threw a kick would be called trying to be Bruce Lee. These references would be thrown around in local TV shows throughout the 90s

Great to hear such positive words from Chuck Norris about his friend. This account of Bruce Lee’s death seems to be the standard, accepted story, at this point. Although some believe the lady with him, who had connections, may have given him something other than aspirin, there’s no way to know at this point, and since they are all old or dead now, they need to be allowed to Rest In Peace. Bruce used high kicks long before he trained with Chuck. There's old footage of him using high kicks and even jump kicks which were really high. I don't believe Norris. He also talks about Bruce like he was only an actor but not a champion.
Bruce was a street fighter first, no refs, no rules. He had a challenge on a rooftop and the winner was supposed to throw the looser off. As Bruce was taking his jacket off his opponent kicked him and Bruce broke both his arms and his leg. He didn't throw him off the roof.
Bruce also fought at world class boxer at his own weight and beat him.
There is no way that Chuck would have beaten Bruce in a real challenge.

Bruce invented mma and with his speed, power, and timing he would have destroyed the competition. Jesse Glover said the only thing Bruce was afraid of was a bigger version of himself.

I am old enough to remember Bruce Lee as he came out live in the theatres. I idolized him as a child. I spent my entire youth studying martial arts because of Bruce Lee. Even into my adult life, I studied martial arts. I studied Wu Shu in my late 20's to my late 30's. Kung Fu, or Gung Fu, is the art that I used most, and still use the most. Basically, I have lived Martial Arts all of my life. I've been able to help others, too, from teaching basic fitness, to general self-defense, to acrobatics, to actually saving people from really bad situations. Bruce Lee inspired all of that. Bruce Lee is more than a legend; He is a hero.

Heard Jim Kelly's interview where he mentions how good of a real fighter Bruce really was and got to witness. He said without naming names, Bruce, him and others use to practice full contact sparring privately, and he was flawlessly untouchable. He saw him toy with the then champion like they were nothing. Meanwhile we just heard Norris just say in this video, he was the champion when he met Bruce. At first I thought it could be Joe Luis, father of America full contact kickboxing and a champion too, who Bruce also trained with and who Bruce approached first for the part in Return of the Dragon but turned down before having offered it to Chuck, or it had to be Chuck Jim was referring to! I think it was Chuck, and Jim Kelly just didn't want to say being the gentleman that he was. I respect Joe more for at least acknowledging just how good Bruce and real fighter he really was, but Chuck has to this day never really given Bruce that same respect and acknowledgement. He always evades the question and when he does answer, it's always with an inference or indirect gist that they were both equal, but Jim Kelly testified publicly that Bruce had no equal. In fact, he was in awe of bruces talents and just how good of a fighter he really was. Me personally I can say from having come from same wing chun family that Bruce came from, Master Yip Man, that pretty much all wing chunners view fight sport limiting and unrealistic in comparison to street fighting using self-defense. Traditional martial arts training is a totally different type of training to training for a ring fight. Not to say ring fighters aren't good, because they are for what they do because they do prepare for it. But its not self-defense like we train against weapons, multiple attackers, and all sorts of possible scenarios that a ring fighter never has to worry about nor Train for. So with that said, it's no surprise to me that Bruce, coming from a straight up Traditional martial arts training background and having to defend himself in the streets of Hong Kong against gangs, and challengers from other schools which was his world, that he would have never competed simply because it was beneath him you can say. He was a purest and a true martial artist looking for the whole real package. Not for sport! I get that we have MMA today. And that's great! But they still confined to tournament rules for which they train specifically for, whereas the streets don't have any rules. Not saying either that an MMA fighter or boxer can't defend themselves in a street fight, cause I have seen many that have, but they had to let go of the rules in order to be effective in the street against multiple attackers. And thats where Traditional training, which some of them do train in fyi, does come in handy and is still necessary to becoming a more well rounded all round fighter for street or the ring. Just saying, cause there's been arguments by nay sayers that because Bruce was never in the ring, how could he be considered the best fighter that ever was if there's no proof, no record? My reply to that is, who the fuck cares about a record! That's for the ring! The streets is all about surviving for your life, who was there to bare witness to testify in a court of law since they're illegal, and in this case, I see no reason to not believe in the people who were there as witness. In a court of law, a witness is good enough for a judge. So its good enough for me too! Let's leave it at that! Lol! 🫡😉

Bruce allegedly responded "it's the only thing that makes the clock stop". That kinda makes sense being under that kind of pressure. The success of the whole movie depended on him. At the end of the day who can fault him for wanting to chill out if that's what happened.

My first hand experience it that some Chinese in Hong Kong are not able to translate Western Medicine terms correctly into English. Antibiotic may be the only English term the witness was able to conjure. They have a pill in Hong Kong that is basically aspirin. I was given it by a "doctor". I cannot remember what it was called. I think he gave me it so that he could charge me his fee because it was totally irrelevant to my need and did absolutely nothing. He obviously understood that I did not know a word of Chinese. I looked it up upon returning to the USA. It was compared to aspirin on-line, for headache. That was circa 2014.

Chuck met Bruce Lee in 1968, Bruce was doing High Kicks on Green Hornet in 1966 and Longstreet. Also Chuck Norris, Joe Lewis, and Mike Stone were all students of Bruce Lee. He was the teacher and they were the students. Also, Bruce Lee was an expert in the science of martial Arts fighting and not a point tournament champion where as many grandmasters say they don't consider that true fighting with limitations and no contact. I like Chuck Norris and I believe he is a good martial artist but you can't compare point Martial Arts to Full-Contact fighting.
