- I'm sharing this film with my friends and family that my mother, Ann Savoy, so wonderfully filmed during a barbecue at our house in 1982, the year I was born. Playing fiddle is Mr. Dewey Balfa, accompanied by Lee Manuel on guitar. Chris Strachwitz is present, as well as Delilah Lee Lewis and holding me is Ms. Pat Johnson. The baby with the sword is Joel.
Thank you so much Wilson.
Which song starts at 4:25 ??
Ok got it
Thanks for posting Wilson; especially watching musicians as they eat and play at the same time is a craft i never was able to pull out of my trick-hat as a lifetime fiddler ... Nout
no body can beat im at fiddle ... his music is the best
Wunderful movie.
Great moments for both families.
Thanks for posting.
C'est beaucoup magnifigue--M. Dewey etait beaucoup un gentilhomme et un musicien speciale.
It doesn't get much better than this, and to top it all off, there is a hammock under the shade trees!
great music!
Thanks so much for sharing this fabulous Gem.
Beautiful film clip Wilson. Touching insight into the Savoy and Balfa families - the first families of true cajun music and culture. Great how your mother decided to preserve a laid-back afternoon like this filled with simple things like family, friends, music and food. Not many would understand that memories are built on times like this.
Looks like everyone is tasting some freshly made boudin? Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to my next visit to Eunice.
Wow! Thanks.
Merci, jeune Savoy. Bon memoires.
Thanks for sharing this great old video.
Thank you for sharing this. I visited once in 1984, the main activity during that visit is that Marc was redoing a porch or some siding. Interesting snippet of talk with Strachwitz.
Very nice, Wilson. Thanks for sharing this.
Merci beaucoup cher! Cest un superbe cadeau. :)
Superstar home video. Just too much.
At 5:44 Dewey starts playing J'ai vous le loup, le renard, et la belette".... Now, that's OLD Cadien musique! Vive L'Acadie!
Absolute Class Musique .... Big Cass .. En Ecosse..
La musique est belle, mais c'est dommage que personne chant. Pauvre vieux Dewey--c'est un tresor perdu!
