I'm just now discovering The Savoy family. What a great group! I'm moving to Lafayette soon. I can't wait to hear some of that good foot tapping music. I would love to see The Savoy Family live. They are Awesome!!
Good music nice to hear Cajun French speaking people again when I was in school teachers would punishes us if we spoke French at any time as if we were to be ashamed of our heritage if you spoke French
Same with me but my half sister they learn French but when I asked her to teach me she said one thing I didn't understand that was it if I already knew why would I ask her to teach me.
Same as with the Navajo. Funny thing was the movie: "The Code Talkers" Navajo native speakers saved the lives of lots of American GI's despite their schools efforts to the contrary.
Love the music, have for decades... I have wondered Don't these Southern States people speak English or what? It's just weird that there's a few states or whatever who speak another language than English. Colonization of a section of land only requires a mass movement of like minded people to congregate and then form a community then propagate and ask to insert themselves as a religious, legally untouchable group . en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Cajun_music
They deported approximately 11,500 Acadians from the maritime region. ... After being expelled to France, many Acadians were eventually recruited by the Spanish government to migrate to present day Louisiana state (known then as Spanish colonial Luisiana), where they developed what became known as Cajun culture.
Lindsey thought I'd end up in Louisiana but I thought because Mary's predecessor was Louise. I was told the Swedish vicardid end up also in Louisiana but I can't go there as I need all the legal help from lawyers in California!
I don't understand why they mentioned my dad dentist me getting there if it's this song that he write the song that he played the song to do a baffle have any influence with my dad's music or what that sounds like my dad my dad's kind of music cuz I heard my dad growing up Dennis McGee okay

What a beautiful sight to see the expression on the dad's face - must be a proud moment
Marc looks so proud when he listens to the boys, well all of them, playing.....wonderful!!

That's the sign of a pro, your string snaps, no panic, jump onto another instrument and busk it and it still sounds great.

Read up on the Louisiana Purchase.
Well stated, the Acadians from the maritime region were put on boats and deported. God bless the Acadian people.
