They look a heck of alot better than I expected. Usually the post is pretty brutal
Ha ha ha… That’s what I thought too
I’ve up potted my tomatoes, all from Hoss, all into individual cups. They are strong stemmed and are doing great under the grow lights. I’ll say I’m happy with Hoss. I also order heirloom from Baker Creek. My peppers are struggling. Not good germination this year from any company.
I wish peppers, germinated, as well as tomatoes do. Sometimes they do struggle a little.
❤❤I luv me some Hoss
Ha ha ha… Me too 😊
The tomatoes you grew from seed look great!!
Thanks, I thought so too.
Happy with the results.
Kinda impressed myself 😊
Wow...We are on the same brain link again this year...I'm also growing the Hossinators, Red Snappers, Sun Gold and the Roulette Mild Habaneros.
You will love those two varieties of tomatoes and also the heatless habaneros. Tasty with absolutely no heat.
I’m trying Hoss’s new Celebrity. Supposed to have a upgraded disease package. Love Hossinator, Roadster and Snapper. Got all of them in 3 weeks ago.
Blessings on your harvest!
Blessings on your harvest too! 😊
Thank you for this . I ordered my plugs . Excited to try. Have been curious about the plugs.
Glad I could help
I also started my Hoss tomatoes in mid February..put in the ground 2 days ago..mine not quite as large as yours..close..good luck..growing in Wood county
I may plant some tomorrow. But, I might wait till next week. Supposed to warm up significantly late next week I think. The winds are pretty tough right now too.
My tomatoes aren't quite ready yet, but I usually plant mine out a bit late due to the serious winds in my little microcosm. I'm doing Red Snapper this spring as well along with my usual Amish Paste, Nebraska Wedding, Opalka, and a new canning/cooking tomato called Hungarian Heart. I'm really low on diced tomatoes and sauce in the pantry. I've got a new slicer called Texas Wine and I've grown Italian tree before with fairly good results so I'm doing that one again for spring. I almost always have Sungold. My grandkids love it even if it does crack. I'll do a second round of tomatoes for fall, but I haven't thought about that line up yet. Good luck to everyone with your tomatoes this year! And you are right: Hoss sends out good seeds.
Try cloning your tomatoes in June, or thereabouts. That way, you have brand new plants for your fall garden. That’s what I am going to do this year.
@@BIGALTX That sounds like fun! I think I will ☺
Finally got time Alan to comment ,I've been following you but as you can appreciate it's spring and we've been swamped with planting. But hey those plugs look great.
Good to hear from you Leland
Stay busy 😊
Do we have a choice,lol.
I was really impressed with the quality of the Hoss onion plants this year, so I'm probably swapping from Dixondale to Hoss going forward. It does not surprise me their tomatoes look great also. I did start my Hossinator's, Red Snapper, and Bella Rosa from seeds this year (last year's seeds). No issues with old seed germination. And we always grow SunGold of course! But I have never been disappointed with any product from Hoss!
Me neither.
Some say their prices are a little high, but quality doesn’t come cheap I guess.
@@BIGALTX To those who complain about prices.... would you rather pay for quality and get 100% good products, or go cheap and get cheap/poor products. Sometimes cheap is a false economy.

Thanks for tips and links, I'm excited to try the plugs -- last year tried from seed and they were small plants that hardly produced, squirrel bit (didn't eat) most every tomato.
I’ve heard if you offer water by the garden, squirrels won’t touch the fruit, they are thirsty.
@@cynthiafisher9907 I'll give it a try, but the rascals bite everything, zucchini, squash, cucumbers .. they learned their lesson on the peppers after I planted habanero.
@@Supertech-86 Haha! Good for you! They do sell kill traps, if I had that much trouble I would get one.
I have had my problems with squirrels too. Rats!
Hmmmm, never thought of that. Good idea, thanks.
We are in West texas and have struggled with the box store variety of tomatoes for years. They always seem to split. The only luck we have are with the cherrry style tomatoes. May have to try the 2 varieties of the Hoss tomatoes that you mentioned. Do you do anything specific or have tricks for gettin a good harvest of tomatoes?
No special secrets, just fertilization, water, etc. I too struggle with blossom end rot, disease, bugs… Just like everybody else.
🙁
U have a bunch of mater plants… only 2 of my hossinator and 2 of my red snappers made it … they have been planted outside for a couple of weeks
Ouch. That’s terrible.
What do you think this Solar Eclipse means?
@@tambrasmith9707 Nuthin... happens from time to time
Your tomato seedlings look good except the mottling in the leaves. Do you know what that is about?
I hope it’s just a water issue… too much or not enough.
Or maybe they’re just ready to get out in the sunlight.
@@BIGALTX I was wondering if it could be too much fertilizer? Idk, I’ve never had that issue. I’m sure they’ll do fine once they get outside.
@@cynthiafisher9907 Could be... I'm backing off :)
