    That's great! ,I am using this kind of techniques of mapping tables to handle such granularity issues,
    That always works perfectly.

    Wow, you read my mind 🙂. Currently we're building the same, with one additional requirement. i.e., the visual should then get to the details page using drill through. I'm trying a work around for it using treatas, since I have slicer table as disconnected table. I believe if state and country were in different tables then also we can make this work.
    Thank you 👍

    Hello Thanks for sharing the steps very clear, but I have one Month Slicer and date getting from A1 Column.
    I have another Slicer for Open Close Status,
    When I click on Open Slicer Month Slicer should take data from A1 column.
    When I click on Close Slicer Month Slicer should take data from A2 column
    Is this possible ?

    How can you make a slicer to filter two columns in same table?
    Example: if I select "Red" it will filter the rows were Mother's favorite color Or Dad's Favorite color is red??

    Hi Alberto, this is an awesome video that teaches a lot of nitty-gritty of how everything is interconnected in DAX. Can you please share your slicer settings? Are you using a custom slicer visual? I am only getting vertical lists, tiles and dropdowns, not labels with cross marks like yours nor can I type the names of places to add them to my slicer, like you are doing.

    I'm struggling with a similar situation. I have a fact table with several attributes, and for two of those, same values may apply.
    For example if one is salesman and another salesrep, but same person can be in both columns.
    How can I build a slices that at same time will show records where this name shows as salesman or salesrep.
    Many thanks in advanced.

    Hi Mr. Ferrari, love your work. I have a question for you. Is it possible to create a model table from an existing Matrix Visual? The reason for asking is I am trying to create a dynamic column selection on a Matrix. To do that, I would need to have the table so I can unpivot some columns, then use a slicer to add / remove column on a newly built Matrix. Makes sense?

    Hello, Thanks for this video. I have a scenario . Can you please help me on that. I have a table with 8 columns . I need to access the table by it's column name. So i need to add the column names as the slicer values. How am I supposed to do that?

    • @SQLBI
      @SQLBI  2 роки тому

      You cannot - you should create a table with the list of column names and adapt measures accordingly, but you don't have an automatic way to do that. DAX doesn't have meta-programming.

    Hi, it is good, but with out using bidirectional, we can implement this by using merge columns in power query. Kindly suggest my understanding is correct.

    This was a great video! I have followed your steps and everything is working perfectly! My categories are District, County and City. I had a formula to calculate the rank of each city included in a table regardless of the filters that were applied. Before I used the slicer Smart Filter Pro, I was using 3 separate slicers, one for District, one for County and one for City--with these slicers, the Rank formula was working correctly. However, once I used the Smart filter Pro slicer, the rank was ranking only the items in the table that had been selected. Do you have any ideas of how I can make the Rank formula ignore the slicer for Smart Filter Pro? Thank you in advance.

    • @SQLBI
      @SQLBI  3 роки тому

      There are many details involved and it's impossible to provide an answer without a repro. It would be better if you write a comment in the article page including the rank formula adapted for the sample file we use, otherwise we cannot reply if you reference your custom model.
      In general, you might want to use the third argument of RANKX, with a different expression for the current value (third argument, just as the measure you use now) and the comparison value (second argument, you probably want to remove additional filters there).

    Is there a way to create a similar slicer where I can select multiple distinct values, for example, "United States" and "California", and return only rows that contain BOTH those 2 values? The way your model and slicer is set up right now will return all rows that contain EITHER value.

    • @SQLBI
      @SQLBI  2 роки тому

    Just for curiosity: Why do you prefer to filter the Customer table with your slicer table and not your fact (Sales) table, which would be closer to the star scheme? You could also add the CountyState key to the fact table, and the slicer and the graph in your report would show the same result.
