How would you book Nick’s WWE in-ring debut? Let us know in the comments below!
I believe the on-screen role as GM is slowly a great push to build on going tension and feud with some of the main roster and perfect heel to feud with Aldis.
Revealing Aldis' true hidden persona/identity as a former wrestler and world champion before WWE. In Aldis in ring comeback, his first tenure with WWE.
Similar to HBK and Mickey Foley first hiatus as on-screen commissioners and Ric Flair eight month hiatus return to WWE/F in 01 as on screen co-owner of the WWE/F.
Aldis vs Rhodes would be a nice callback to All In for the hardcore while still being interesting to more casual fans as a babyface versus authority angle.
When Roman loses the title he blames Aldis. With the bloodline in shambles he send solo after aldis. Solo stalks him to the ring but is intercepted and sent/traded to one of the other brands for some character development work. Roman becomes apoplectic and starts putting Aldis in the crosshairs for summerslam
Againstcodyobviously
This man is a multiple company world champ
Throw some repek on his name
(Tna booker t voice)”Respekkkkkkk”
Nick Aldis sure knows how to maximise his opportunities. This isn't a backhanded compliment. It's a testament to knowing how to get yourself over. One line as Smackdown GM put him over instantly.
I was watching his debut with my Dad and son. My son is 9 and Dad is 61. They had no idea who Nick was. After he delivered the Dom line, my Dad said, "I like this guy." One line got him over with my pops
This is great my dude, keep them close. Aldis has more world champion potential but I'd be happy if he stayed gm role he's so good
@Riseabove6968 it's okay, little buddy. You can tag along with us. j
Definitely! As wrestling fans, we know who he is, we also know WWE’s stigma, but after that line I was like “He’ll be alight in WWE”.
@Riseabove6968 u cuz u cared enough to respond to him
@kyleharrigan2274 I always figured that Magnus already had the WWE style of wrestling, just never wrestled there. I was definitely surprised to see him in a corporate role on TV but him burning Dom sold it for me lol
The best interviewers understand the importance of simply letting their guests speak. Kenny is great at it.
Right. Nick spilled in this interview lol
Nick has been brilliant as the smackdown GM
It sounds like because he is doing what every good character does, taking an aspect of himself and dialling it to 11
I love what he's doing as G.M. and couldn't be happier for him but but it's just criminal for a guy who looks like him, cut a promo and work like him not to be in the ring. His period with the NWA belt B4 Covid is one of my favorite runs ever. He took a dead brand and made it relevant and when he left we see what happened.
And he gets to 💋 Micki James 👍 Great on ya mate
I think his time will come. I think there's a lot of talent now with that also deserve their pushes but having a ring ready GM like Aldis opens a lot of potential for future storylines. It's something I personally want to see.
Nvm he said it at the end. I'm happy he's as excited as we are
@@KirbyMouth there is a ton of it right now it's a great time to be a fan. And I'm actually glad now that I think about it and u make a great point at least they ain't rush him out there and give him some horrible gimmick and kill him before he even has a chance. Which would be an even bigger crime.
Hot Take: Nick Aldis made Adam Pierce a better GM. Sophisticated and
Loved watching him as Magnus on TNA, then NWA Champion. Now he's the GM on Raw, and he doesn't let the wrestlers tell him what to do.
The guy has that Star quality! He looks like he belongs there and is so charismatic!
One of my favorites and what a great NWA champion, to rival the legendary champions of old NWA!
Best wishes to him.
I love how Mr. Nick Aldis constantly says number one company of any and all wrestling business. Keep up the great work.
Saying it doesn’t make it true though! He can’t say they are not number one. He would get fired. WWE is very strict.
@@ozzybloke-craig3690lol it is true though, policies like that have changed anyway
He's can't say the company he works is not the best lol , that be like a BMW sales person saying we are not number one and you shouldn't buy this car
@@ozzybloke-craig3690bud, WrestleMania weekend
Im so glad someone in the wrestling industry saw the gold in Nick Aldis again.
2X NWA World Heavyweight Champion to Smackdown! General Manager. Nick Aldis deserves an in ring push as one of the most decorated competitors of modern Era.
Undoubtedly gonna happen in the next year or 2 but he's doing a great job and also establishing his character with the audience, which should make his in ring run there all the more impactful
@@1307PSONthat’s what I’m thinking too. I love nick but let’s be honest not everyone knows who he is and his history. So we use this time of him as GM to get people introduced to him. Showcase his personality because nick is a funny guy and then when shit hits the fan and he has to, nick can get in wrestler mode and well see then greatest wrestler he is.
I remember watching this guy wrestle Cody Rhoades for the NWA championship. It's the only match I've ever watched from him. That was enough. Any time I remember that match, I remember it being incredible. He has a very memorable presence in ring.
So I immediately recognised him a couple of weeks ago when I saw him as the GM.
This honestly makes me love Nick Aldis sooooo much more. Aldis is a mix of CM Punk and Cody Rhodes, he's just good. He had that innate realism and passion that CM Punk has, but he was smart enough to sprinkle in the sports entertainment shine and rasslin' psychology to his matches, promos and segments.
Knowing now that he was self aware enough to set aside his ego and do what's best for the wrestling product, that's just awesome.
This may be out of pocket, but idk what other metaphor would work here, but Aldis could definitely become Triple H's Pat Patterson. If Triple H surrounds himself with William Regal, Shawn Michaels and Nick Aldis, that could become one HELL of a creative team.
Triple H is a good idea and structuring guy, Steve Austin always said this on his podcast. William Regal can help Triple H narrow down his good ideas and keep them grounded, whereas Nick Aldis can flash it up and make the segments pop more.
Aldis is literally the reason why All In's main event was so hot. Cody is my favorite wrestler now, so it's ironic that I'm on to the spot where Aldis is shooting on Cody, but he's right. Everyone remembers Cody because of AEW and the boom that started, but Cody would never have had that much heat if Nick Aldis wasn't so great at what he does. He matched Cody on the mic and is just as good as him. I honestly thought Nick Aldis was going to become Cody Rhodes' Ric Flair, they just seemed like 2 halfs of the same coin and they just gelled so well.
It’s still so amazing to me that he was once an American gladiator with Matt Morgan 😊
I’d like to see Nick vs AJ. Think that would be a solid action packed match that the younger wrestlers on the roster could take notes on.
imagine Nick, AJ, and LA Knight in a stable
That would be a huge hit!!!
@@MansMan42069they can call the faction - The OG’s - aka The Old Guys. Nah - for real though - that would be an awesome faction
Great wrestler. I remember watching him as Magnus on TNA
Brilliant Interview.
It's hilarious seeing Nick as the GM, he's bigger than most of the wrestlers!
Look Man,this Man,and all of his attributes will bring him to the top of his game. He took that NWA Heavyweight Championship back to the prominence it deserved. He has put in the work and he would be a great asset to the roster as a wrestler. Been a wrestling fan for over 55 years and Nick is a Star on or at any level of intensity that they need him. I think that he's got Champion credentials and he has alot charisma to match. This Man has Main Event Quality and I believe that sooner or later you'll see him again in the squared circle going for the Championship. Nick has talent and intensity and he has the skills and abilities to be the,Whats best for business.Great Job Nick, you are the Man
Big fan of Nick, I popped for him when he was revealed as the new GM.
He's only been here for a few months, but he's already making a strong case for being one of the very best GMs we've ever had.
Great interview! Nick is such a class act, very genuine guy! Like him in the role he’s in, would love to see him do some matches eventually though. Lots of stories could be told with the GM challenging one of their superstars etc.
this guy is awesome as the gm of smackdown 💯
Nick is superb talent and im sure will be a huge part of wwe in future 👏 fair play Mr Aldis
He's doing great honestly. One day he and Adam are going do smackdown vs Raw
I actually liked the way the GM role was introduced. It was different, as someone that took an extended break from wrestling and only came back around the corporate changes mentioned this debut really struck a chord with me ✌️
This was a good interview. Nick spilled.
Great interview 👍
It was a test from WWE , given his history with Bruce . Probably testing if he would take the deal or not but it’s worked out great whatever happens in the future , in ring or not .
Nick Aldis is money. He is articulate, good looking and a good wrestler
Love him as a wrestler but as a gm he has become rapidly more memorable than any debuting wrestler and is making me hype to finally seeing him wrestle
I loved watching Nick Aldis wrestle on NWA Powerrr, and I was quite sad to see him go with the way everything had went down, but I love seeing him in a different role on WWE SmackDown, too. Aldis has what it takes to be a champion wrestler, but also an intimidating and respectable general manager, too. I hope Aldis gets to wrestle again one day, but if he doesn't, he's still in a great place to add to his legacy.
I hope that if Nick and Adam are up for it, that at some point before they get too old, that they can have a match with each other GM vs. GM. I enjoy both in the ring and think they would have a fun match. Maybe at Survivor Series.
The Hair-Power of this duo got me Jelly!
What bangs
I've followed Nick since he went into TNA as Magnus this interview is the first time I could here a slight West country twang, But fare play to him he's worked hard. We just need a British commentator now too , To add colour .
Wade Barrett is still with WWE isn't he?
I remember his Debut in TNA, he was going by Brutus Magnus back then and after a while he formed a tag team called the British Invasion. I've gotten into the habit of looking guys up on google when I hear their real names and go, I think I know them, then after looking them up I go okay I do know them and that its good that they're still in the wrestling industry. From what I saw in TNA with his Brutus Magnus character is he's the one guy you don't want to push around.
As long as nick aldis is happy im happy
Ive known of Nick well before he made it to WWE. So i know hiw good of a worker he is. Im guessing at some point next year he gets involved in a physical angle as GM which will transition him into a in ring role. But even if it doesn't hes doing great work as GM
I've enjoyed Nick's run as Smackdown GM. He's been great in the role.
This took me from a casual to a full fledged fan of Nick Aldis
He is the best general manager since teddy long.
He is only 37 he will be a full time wrestler after his gm stint. Man is money 🔥✌️
I love him as GM, I bet in the future he'll get top tier feud top storyline in grandstand stadium in UK
Crazy to think I used to watch him on sky1 gladiators
Oblivion really has come far :D
Homelander heel Cody vs GM Aldis would be the perfect way to bring him back to the ring
Nick aldis vs cody vs la knight
Great interview, I have to pause at 20:25…iPad battery about to die! 😢 I’ll be back later
😢😢 did u continue watching?
Did the iPad charge?
Sure did lol
He comes across as such an intelligent guy
Bros about to do an in ring run I can feel it
Love The Big O. Hope to see him in the ring some time, but if not he seems to be doing well as he is.
The Big O is Zac Ryder's friend and former indie wrestler ftr. Nick Aldis's association with the moniker is much less.
@@mudshowmark2143 Aldis was using it four years in Gladiators before Ohriner even debuted. Since it's in the context of a video where he's talking about himself, I see no reason not to use it to show respect for how far he's come in nearly 16 years since the Sky Gladiators days - plus, that's not even pro wrestling, so it's not used in the same context.
i like him as gm alot , but also i would find it cool if he was a gm who fought back and had a finisher , since hes character is the type to no take anyones bs
Love this dude .. never forget our time at Harley’s brother … gatorbeam!!!!! Lol
I hope they realize they have a star and use him in the ring
I loved nick's interaction with roman. Like stan edgar schooling homelander
dude has a major stud aura ... James Bond type of charisma
Nick is the pro you don't know what he's gonna do. I'm gonna tell you what he's gonna do tho. Mark my words. HE WILL BE IN THE RING NEXT YEARS WRESTLEMANIA. against whoever they use to antagonist him. And it's gonna be amazing
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! NOT know who The National Treasure is?!! I watched NWA during the pandemic. I was introduced to Eli Drake, Nick Aldis, Kamille, and reintroduced to Bad News Barrett. All the while thinking - Vince is an idiot for not trying to lure these people over. Hunter is obviously NOT an idiot.
Nick Aldi's in AEW when they started would've been awesome
I think HHH likes to test guys like this. He will be pushed to the moon at the end of this Bloodline stuff
Nick is UNDERrated. And I don’t like how this interview was conducted. Putting Nick down with your questions in a covert way. Get it together.
He was great on NWA.
Magnus !
Cody, AJ, & LA or immediate matches he could have and give proper heat after a couple return matches. Him and Roman would be Epic
Nick is classy as heck
Nick has been doing great as GM. I think he could do something with his history with Cody Rhodes maybe.
Can't wait to see Nick hit the Texas Cloverleaf in a suit on WWE
I think Nick has been a brilliant on screen GM and I do think we will see him wrestle again. Against who? I don’t know but there’s obviously something there with Roman and a history with Cody and I’d love to see him against Drew.
My hope is when WWE has done all they can with him as GM then have him be a wrestler and have Regal replace him as GM.
I would still like to see him in the ring 3-4 times a year
Only problem I have with creative they don’t use GMs anymore like they did bk in Ruthless aggression Era … but Nicc Aldis is awesome he’s quite young per say 37 he still is in incredible shape in his prime but it’s gonna just get some getting use to seeing him in this Gm role 🫡💪🏿💯🙌🏾💙
God I hope we get to see Cody vs Aldis one more time.
I've always been a big fan of Nick Aldis. I think he could be WWE Champion.
He needs to be wrestling.
Nick is one of the best producers and GM's WWE has ever hired. He's legit incredible. I hope he keeps rising through the ranks and he has a match or two here and there
Good ol Magnus !!
Nick is chomping at the bit to get in the ring. I can't wait to see him get the opportunity.
GM aldis will become the Undisputed WWE universal champion
The AEW stuff he was alluding to towards the end was interesting. Nick Aldis potentially being an executive early on in AEW and having influence could have really made the product better overall
I've loved nick since the first time i saw him on gladiators as oblivion, I knew he had the ability to be big in wrestling, I still believe there's time to inject him into a real fued post wrestlemania ceo rock v gm aldis? They could knock that out the park easily
Nick has always been taylor made for the big leagues. Glad he got a shot
Hes perfect for the role they just got to keep him from taking bumps or getting physical.
Allot of people want pierce vs aldis at wrestlemania 😅😅
Adam says he will never wrestle again
@@jackharper_games9046 they could use a proxy wrestler like they did with Bobby and Umaga back in the day
@jackharper_games9046 honestly the best proxy match while trying to get someone over with a debut on the wrestlemania card could end up Nia Jax vs jade Cargill with each gm in their respective corners as managers
I would build nattie Lita or trysh training jade up at the PC .. with aldis giving her tips .. those segments would be a callback to the punk ones they did earlier this year before rr
I suppose bron breaker vs Braun strauman could be another way to go if the big guy is ready to come back
Aldis is already one of the best GMs ever
Nick vs Cody 2. Book it!
Nick & LA Knight would be EPIC!
Just crush NWA at this point
Aldis could have a great midcard run in WWE. Hold the mid card straps a few times easily. He is a bit too old and a bit too limited to be a top guy but he is money in the midcard and at the lesser than great level. If you expect greatness from him, you won't be happy. Expect very good consistent things and you'll be satisfied.
Am i crazy or has the term “SHOOTS” been drastically altered from its original use. Seems intentional..imo
Never heard his Norfolk accent creep through before
He does look like Billy the blue ranger
I’d like to see him go on a power trip leading to a match with a Kevin steen/austin/ambrose type character that costs him his position leading to him being an in ring competitor while he’s still young. He’s 35-36 yrs old only using him as a backstage hand would be waste of his talents. I have faith in hhh and aldis but the Vince ptsd is crazy
I watched all in and still had no idea who nick aldis was
I agree 100% with Dom being the next raising star.
That haircut is wild mate are you the third jedward
💀
Cant wait to see him in a wwe ring WRESTLING!!
ORALE ALDIS !!
Still felt Nick had more to offer as a talent to any company that needed a upper middle card main event guy for any company that had TV and needed guy to perform in the ring and the mic
Aldis messing the champ cody on smackdown could be a pretty awesome story leading to a amazing rematch.
What is the daily job function of a GM... is it just a tv character or is it more....
This is the time that Nick Aldis; wll use as an opportunity to activate an underhanded screw job against Cody Rhodes for beating him in the AEW for the championship although he did win it back six months later!!
Jimmy neutron ahh haircut 😂😂😂
Jedward 😂
