Dustin, thanks for reviewing this lens. Was going back over some past reviews, one I think, was for the 7 Artisans 50 ? 1.4, and you made the point that your site was broadly buyer wealth based appreciating ( what Canon clearly does not with the price of its RF L glass) that one, photography is not a cheap pastime for all, and, secondly, you had and would continue to review more affordable lens options.
    Great to hear.
Whilst this lens is not directly relevant to what I attach to my cameras, nevertheless, it will be relevant to others.
Thank you for covering the broad church of lens, at varying price points.

I do try to continue to cover a wide range of price points in the products I cover.

Not bad price. Interested but honestly my standart lenses do the job for video. Wish it were anamorphic again

The real advantage of lenses like this are in the handling, not necessarily the optics.

I was thinking about going with SLR Magic Micro Primes but I'm liking the bokeh on these much more. I wonder if they will come out with more focal lengths. I would love to see a 135mm at some point.

I'm very impressed this lens, and also with the sharpness of the camera you use to film YOURSELF. May I ask what body and lens you used?

That info is always at the end of my videos. In that case I used the Sony a7IV and the Samyang AF 75mm F1.8 lens.

Amazing review as always. I use cine lenses for portrait work. Slap a pro mist filter on and its life changing.

I think when I do future reviews in this series I will include a mist filter as a part of the process.

Great review! Would love to see you review the Leica Q2 or Leica Q2 Monochrome!

I’m so busy right now (basically 3 full time jobs) that the idea of adding anything further is just out of the question right now.

Haha all the manufacturers are scrambling to cash in on the “cInE LeNs” hype - they are just a rehouse with some ergonomic nice to haves not essentials for operations, thats all. In reality if you can’t get “cinematic” look out of a regular still lens - news flash - the “CinE” ones wont make it happen either 😅👌

    • @DustinAbbottTWI
      @DustinAbbottTWI  Рік тому

      I’m not sure that’s accurate, as there wasn’t a 7Artisans full frame lens 35, 50, 85mm lens.

Cine lens hype? The lenses in this group serve a different purpose over regular stills lenses.

@@eletor no they don’t lol they just a tool to help capture image. If you can’t do it with regular “stills” lens - you won’t do shit with this one either

Your take on it seems rather bitter.

It would be much more exciting if they made a decent anamorphic lens...though this is a nice product.

PErhaps…but that’s not what they are making at this point.
