Notice that when Papi speaks, A Rod sits and listens. The utmost respect between these two men despite them once being a part of the biggest rivalry in the sport, is so beautiful to see. The fact that even in retirement, both are still learning from each other is incredible. The quest for knowledge never stops.
Thank you, beautiful said. Papi is my brother and has so much to teach the world.
@@alexrodriguez1641 I am still mad at my twins for not keeping big Papi.. Thanks arod for buying my timberwolves.. Bring home a championship.
Probably the biggest lesson you can take out of this video: no matter how successful and smart you are, there’s always room to improve and learn
True greats need, respect & love their true, worthy adversaries
@@alexrodriguez1641 Love seeing two Dominican brothers working together and spreading the knowledge! Truly a blessing!
I’m Mexican but Presidente is one of the best beers I’ve ever had. Big Papi and A-Rod are legends
al cesar lo del cesar, a la presidente lo de la presidente....jjajaj!!!
Anyone get the goosebumps hearing 2 legends talk about baseball & life itself 😬🙌🏼
I got goosebumps listening to Papi!

Arod is the perfect example of anything can be achieved.
I guess, but he’s also one of those very rare examples of someone who is naturally gifted with pure athletic talent lol

These guys are the baseball icons that my generation grew up with. So much respect.
Thank you so much!
Its nice how Arod didnt interrupts him while he was speaking .
Baseball is not even my sport soccer is but the way papi explains it and how they talk about the game ... is so entertaining I can hear these two talk forever ! 🙏🏼👍🏽 saludos from the Bay Area 👌
If Papi doesn't go to the Hall of Fame we all riot
Yeah, right after McGwire, Clemens and Sosa.
Dude is first. I don't know why this is even a discussion lmao.
Burn down Walmarts or Autozone...heck let's ram some government blds...wait wrong riot..

Even as a Red sox fan, I find these videos helpful and interesting, and very entertaining. Big respect to you Alex for doing these things off the field, helping us younger baseball fans learn some great stuff
Thank you! Go Yankees :)
Arod I have a question why did you take the roids
@@iplaygames4581 immense pressure from by far largest contract in sports history and trying to carry a god awful Texas team.
@@iplaygames4581 Not like 95% of the other people at that time were taking them. Only the people who benefited most were brought out into spotlight. This is like the pitching substance abuse. Bauer and Cole were the ones in the spotlight because they were the ones putting up the best numbers from this.
As a proud Yankees fan I can say I’ve never feared anyone stepping into box more than Big Papi...a legendary player and from everything I see an even greater guy off the field.
Hitting a homer off the best closer of all time in Rivera to avoid elimination then en route to an 8 game streak to a World Series championship is somethin from another planet.
Big papi looks like he’s in better shape than when he played the game !
Momma's cooking
Big Papi is Big Papi. I love listening to people talk about their craft and how they perfected it. They drop so many gems.
This is the best channel I’ve ran across in a while. Wasn’t a huge fan of Arod during his playing days as a Tigers fan, but he is one of the best baseball minds out there. Also, he’s a tremendous commentator on Sunday Night Baseball. Could listen to him talk all day, and seems like a solid dude. Wish this man nothing but continued success. SN, papi, you broke my heart in the 2013 ALCS, but appreciate what you have done for the game of baseball.
Alex you have always been and will be my favorite player.
I remember the only major league game I have ever seen live. Yankees vs Tampa Rays. You hit a home run at Tropicana Field that I will never forget.
Thank you for that memory that you created in my childhood.
Around here a big fan of yours.
Hopefully one day I can speak in person with you.
You don't know how I admire you
and by the way, great video.
Thank you so much, I appreciate the kind words
Alex, this is so real, I can tell you are a truly genuine person. This was so amazing to watch. You’re my absolute favorite player! Yanks for life!!!!
Two legend. To me the best clucth hitter of all of time David and probabily all around best baseball player of all of time ARod.
Alex sorry to hear the news between you n Jen . I wish your heart good things to come you have two wonderful girls that love you very much. Tskecare God bless. Come to U.K. we love you here. X
As a born and raised Astros fan. Ive never really been a Arod guy. But ill tell u what over the last maybe 5 years or so. Ive become a fan. Big Poppy what a fucking stud. There are a few players I would never want batting against my stros poppy is one. But man what a good guy. Good for his teams on and off the field. In his committee and his country. Much respect to both of you guys. Great interview arod.
I am speechless. This is unbelievable. Priceless material. That's all I got.
it’s a chess-match every pitch between the hitters and pitchers.
these conversations remind why me baseball is one of the greatest sports in the world.
great video, thanks ARod and Big Papi

A Rod you were my fav player growing up and I can't thank you enough for 09. I believe one of the most clutch post season performances of all time. Listening to you and Papi talk about the game and life is as good as it gets!
I love both of these guys, i could listen to both talk all day.
From someone who grew up idolizing you and watching you both play, I just want to say how cool it is to see 2 legends choppin it up and still spreading knowledge of the game. Love to see it!

Love David Ortiz he is a very humble person. I remembered him at the parade of starts here in SF and I was with my boys waving to the players and he gave my boys a set of Dice 🎲 and rally towels, make my boys so happy. Very kind man. God bless him
Baseball needs personalities like these guys in the game right now. Two fucking legends.
Growing up in the late 2000s these were two of my favorite players!
Alex Rodriguez, El Big Papi y Pedro Martinez mis preferido, de verdad
these two Dominicans if they get along blessings for both of them Alex Rodríguez will always be my favorite player and the best of all time
This is a great example of the teacher never stops learning new things
wow two superstars in one! this is so cool arod!
Sitting here watching this makes me so happy. I know I am late to watch this but damn, I am 27 years old and watching you become a yankee and see this rivalry was some of the best moments of my life. I am a yankee fan through and through but my eyes do not stray away from greatness. Papi made me smile with his incredible swings although I was rooting for the other side. Seeing the two of you together and watching 2 of the best to ever walk on a diamond is incredible. Thank you for the opportunity.
Perfect, really a perfect interview. Great for baseball. Thanks again Alex hope to see this kind of stuff continue.

Great episode between you and David. Loved it. As a teenager in the 90s, your Mariners team was my 2nd favorite behind the ChiSox. If the chance presents itself, please have your old team Grif, Buhner, big unit, Edgar, Tino, etc as guests!
For a 30 something year old yankees fan like myself listening to these two talk is the greatest thing some of my greatest memories are from that 2009 season and the rivalry of those years
Had my 11 year old watch this, he tries to pull everything. Great vid. From two of the greats.
Arod we need more brotha. Love the no filter all real approach especially with my childhood hero papi. Lots of fun battles. Glad to see you both in good health. Much love to you both
Big papi always brings el sazon 💪🏽
David ortiz is one of my favorite people, and I would've loved a more in depth podcast-type discussion. I'm sure for someone that's trying to make it to the show, it's great to hear these tips from a master in his craft. I wanted to learn more about David's upbringing, and how someone like him (and you) gets their mind an environment to work with them to achieve a goal of being at the top of their field

Watching these 2 legends from The Netherlands💪🏾
still have an A-rod poster from an M's game in 1996 for the all star game. Hasn't moved from my parent's wall in 25 years. I remember a time growing up in Seattle when A-rod was more popular than Griffey. Every kid in little league wanted to wear either #3 or #24 lol.

Absolutely love these!
Thank you!!
Great job 👏🏽
Lots of respect there. Papi commenting on Kevin Millar being his favorite teammate is a nice call out, a young Millar was a replacement player in during the 1994-95 Major League Baseball strike, when he played with the replacements in the spring of 1995 and therefore, was barred from membership in the players union. Millar is a world champion and a baseball lifer. I’m in, subscribed.
It’s not on his baseball card
You and Bonds the 🐐🐐
Our youth need to understand the struggles and authenticity of MLB players. All we saw growing up was y’all killing it. This stuff would have been awesome in college! Keep it up…let’s make baseball relatable.
Can’t wait for Papi and Arod to get in to the HOF
Gotta love Big Papi

Ortiz was the best clutch hitter of his time. No one comes close.
Ortiz the goat all day long hall of Famer all the way let's go champ god bless🙏🙏🙏🙏
Damn I love that Presidente cooler next to a Presidente Domino table... For some reason Presidente don't sell them is for promotion only. Come on Arod sell me a table 😂👍👍👍👍👍🙏
Both Arod and big papi should be hall of famers best hitters of all time
Papi is a Scorpio, same birthday as my Grandma. Water sign- Full of emotion, love, passion. This is why he was telling A-Rod to exhale. A-Rod, being a Leo so much more intense and highly driven. A Scorpio approaches their goals with passion, but not as rigid. I truly love this friendship. I enjoy them as analysts together. Papi was to Yankee fans what Jeter was to Red-Sox fans. No disrespect to A-Rod, but Jeter was there long before, hence that comparison. It’s a great thing for the world to see “rivals” respecting and admiring one another. They’re baseball bros/pros/legends. 🏆⚾️🏆
Cheers, gentlemen ✨🥂✨☮️💟
This is amazing! I wasn’t raised playing baseball but I wish I was because I’m now learning how cerebral baseball is and it’s amazing.
