I really recommend cooking shrimp (called prawns where I come from) in just butter and garlic, seasoning after with salt and pepper! Fresh ones taste delicious and juicy that way 😋

That pizza toast is an amazing idea!! All that cheese looked so good and the Miffy one was adorable. You know what else was adorable? The little octopus with their little life-rings!! It really did look like they were swimming around and having a great time while they were cooking :D

I'll be excited to try out these recipes again! The deep fried okra looks like it makes a wonderful and flexible side dish to any meal~ I've gotten very busy at work recently, so having some quick, delicious and flexible veggie sides I can cook lots of to pair with different meals is going to be a lifesaver! Hanako, your videos are ALWAYS entertaining :) As for the pistachios, you're more restrained than I am. I shell 5 and eat 5 :P After watching baking shows, I've learned that pistachios don't flavour very well. The flavour tends to disappear :( From watching a couple of other Japanese channels, I noticed that your bread slices are very thick :P I'll keep working my way through your videos. They always brighten the day :)

Hi, Hanako! An interesting day here in Southern California. The first tropical storm since 1939, and a 5.1 earthquake. But I think everyone is ok so far. Your bento again look so charming and delicious. That pistachio crusted chicken reminds me of a macadamia crusted ono that I had many years ago in Lahaina. Sadly, that town is no more, and we grieve for the human loss. 😭 The Anpanman song was very moving. Thank you for including it. Please take care and have a good week.

😂 In the USA "Pizza Toast" is what we call a struggle meal. where we can't afford a real pizza but often we have part of the ingredients (most have bread, cheese, ketchup and seasonings). So its often associated with being poor or just before payday. always tasty tho!
It's like what my mom called "Go for yourself" nights, when she didn't want to cook (and that was perfectly fine with us) and informed we could go for ourselves with whatever we want to make.
now if you 've got a bagel or french bread on the other hand...

When I was experimenting with cooking as a kid I learned the hard way that pistachios explode in the microwave... I tried making a chicken dish with them and the chicken wasn't quite cooked through, so I tried to put it in the microwave to finish it and it sounded like I was making popcorn.
