About David Wilkerson (1931-2011)
David Wilkerson was the Founding Pastor of Times Square Church in New York City. He was called to New York in 1958 to minister to gang members and drug addicts, as told in the best-selling book, The Cross and the Switchblade. In 1987, David Wilkerson returned to "the crossroads of the world" to establish Times Square Church. As a pastor of the church, he faithfully led this congregation, delivering powerful biblical messages that encourage righteous living and complete reliance on God. David Wilkerson had a strong burden to encourage and strengthen pastors throughout the world. From 1999 to 2008, he traveled around the globe holding conferences for Christian ministers.

Sermons from David Wilkerson and his son Gary are shared monthly through the Pulpit Series newsletter to hundreds of thousands of people. The numerous mission outreaches of World Challenge to the poor include orphanages, overseas widows’ fund, emergency/disaster relief, healthcare/clinics, community development and feeding centers. Gary Wilkerson became president of World Challenge in 2010 and moves forward with the same heart and vision as his father.

I've managed to grasp the understanding about being patient for God to give me a gift. There are things that I know would improve my quality of life than what I currently have now. But I also understand that to many different cultures, I live like a king compared to their poverty. I do not obsess over wanting. I remain content with what the lord has given me, and I will patiently wait and listen to when he tells me to move, or stay. God can bring me glory, but I can not bring myself glory. At least not authentic glory of the Lord
This is an issue I struggle with. I know the Lord hears me. I pray for the souls and for healing for my friends. I ask you help me pray for Tony’s son Chris. He’s in the hospital. I pray for healing and salvation for the family. God, that is your department, the miracle department

Thank you Jesus for not leaving us or forsaking us. I know that you love us and that you are with us. I know that you love me and that you're with me even this very moment. I thank you my Jesus my, Savior my God and King for being patient with me in waiting for me to come to the end of trying to do things my way. Lord, there's only one way send that to you. You are the way the truth and the life help me to be totally dependent on you so that you can finally do your perfect work in me.
