- Half Sword (demo) is one of the craziest, goofiest, violent games every made. Think QWOP but as a medieval fighting game. This is the furthest I've made it in the game so far (4410).

The insane thing about this game's physics is, if you PAUSE the video during the most weird complex collisions, and go frame by frame with , and . you will see it's actually pretty damn accurate, it's just that sometimes things go so fast that we cant keep up in real-time.
Yes the physics are very in depth.

Ha! What an interesting experience. Makes me wonder if you've ever played Exanima. It's not quite as intentionally jank as this, (and plays from an isometric perspective) but hits similarly. I'll definitely keep my eye on Half Sword though. Be interesting to see what they can build on this with.

Absolutely have been loving this game. It's like a Roguelite QWOP meets Chivalry/Mordhau and I can't believe this is just a demo. Definitely picking up the full game.
Ceremor was the first person that i watched to play it and the moment i saw it i KNEW you would have a blast in this game. I was super hyped to see you play it. I cant even tell you how much i was laughing my ass off when i got to see you play it the first time Live. What a awesome day i had and i will never forget it.

This game looks so much fun to play. When the game is fully released I hope Doodles will play give us some clips or gameplay here on UA-cam. On Steam there is no ETA for Half sword as of yet but hopefully it'll get updated soon.

Last time I’ve had this much fun with a demo was MGS 2 on my brand new Playstation 2. Great job devs!
I do enjoy that the game can start feeling a little derpy. But by the time you face enemies in full plate, you can’t really just flail on them and hope for the best. You actually have to be somewhat precise (long swords for the win)because both yourself and the AI have weapons that can one shot you if either side gets lucky. Even the blunt weapons like maces and warhammers, id day you have to be even more precise cuz it’s a much smaller surface area that will actually kill
It would be cool if it was a giant multiplayer game of a 100 ppl wandering around in the dark fighting each other with lamps

This game is very fun, I really enjoy playing it. I have died to some glitches a few times, and once my weapon disappeared lol
reminds me of Exanima just in third person.
i paused when that first guy glitched out and one frame looks like hes being eaten by the void or is being ripped apart by reality itself, or hes being pulled through a rift in space time and is just noodling from different parts of him being pulled through time faster than others lol funny glitch.
I've got 18 hours in this thing. The last time I played a demo for this long was on PS1.
Legit some of the most engaging and fun melee combat i've ever had.
It's been awhile since a Demo was released. It's going to work well for them. So many people are trying their game and the combat and AI is incredibly impressive.
Combat AI is peanuts (: It just pretends to be smart (((: But it pretends well enough sometimes hehe

My fav weapons are running the scythe for a while and then switching to dual swords as i make way. Dual swords whoops on armored guys toward the end. But the scythe is so brutal and fun, knocking guys down and then slowly removing every limb while keeping them still screaaming..makes me feel like a doctor.

I think the flailing arms disarms the violence a tad. At least for me.
ngl if i had dreams about this game it would be cool as hell, most likely would imagine stuff that isn't in the game yet like multiplayer or completely new game mechanics due to general dream inconsistencies which would be a fun addition

I've gotten to around 3000, but lost my scythe to the gods of physics and without it I was screwed.
@@MartinTraXAAthe big axe from the third boss is pretty good as a replacement scythe when the guys start to have a bit of armor on them, you can knock over one of the two guys that spawn periodically and deal with the other one when they spawn in
the only downside is spear guys, still unsure of how to combat them myself but big weapon = better spear blocking and killing capability as long as you push the spear away or knock them over. not sure how it fares when everyone has a lot of armor since i died before then but it carried me for a while
@@theman13532 Yeah the axe is good but as you say the short reach is an issue when you don't have armor. Against spears I find that closing the distance is paramount. Holding a 2-handed weapon with both hands and using it to shove the spear away as you move in and just wrestle them to the ground to finish off is most reliable.

when i messed with the settings aw man i love this game so much lol cant wait for the updates
about 5 days ago I saw a lets play of this game and within 5 minutes had downloaded it and begun enjoying lopping limbs off men who look exactly like me, 20 hours in and I'm still lovin it, absolutely cannot wait for them to release it fully just hope that they fix the fact that your settings don't save if you, die, reset, alt+f4, crash or for any other reason get kicked out of the game, most of your settings besides your fps and vid quality will be reset, fov, sens, difficulty/blood sliders, and audio this is fairly minor, as well in recent update I saw someone talking about on the steam forums they said that they "made it harder for objects to go flying, but if they do the effect is much worse" which now results in, if you have the dmg your player takes up to max, if you have a shield on your back or waist, falling on it will glitch it inside your body, I think(but could be wrong) this has to do with objects bouncing and they changed the way that the sheathes/holsters work as there is a bug(still unfixed but this was to help solve it) that makes it to where your sword cannot move off the sheathe, meaning you have to pull the blade out, potentially stabbing yourself, recently started a run, the first weapons I got were on a weapons rack, the war fork and a short axe, great I thought, till I grabbed the short axe out of it's receptacle and the game glitched the entire weapon rack to fall on my character, who could not push it and instead died from it's weight crushing me, 10/10 experience from this game, this comes after beating it 3 times if ya haven't played it go do it, it's free, and less than 10gigs, my highest score is 12,910 did so with a claymore, and two longswords on the sheathe, died that run to falling on my back and my tower shield glitching itself inside my skull, instantly exploding it ! do not put shields on yourself till that is patched or I guarantee you, you will die at least once to falling over and the shield glitching inside you. on a side note I hope they make it so that enemy body parts you're carrying don't disappear when the rest of the body unloads, I wanna kill people with the body parts of my slain victims. huge props to the Devs for producing such a great game.
