    Yup, the games in Texas play crazy big! It always surprises people when they come here. Thanks again for dinner, it was great meeting up with you and your wife!

      Yeah. That's why I can't play cash. The places in Louisiana shutdown during covid. Only one that came back in lake charles I hate. And the games in texas way too much money for me to take the swings

    Thanks for the livestream clarification, was wondering what occurred. Also like your decision to not disclose results on it and look forward to your analysis when it comes out.
    HAPPY THANKSGIVING to ya! Keep up the great vlogs 👍.

    WP. I think I would have only played the AK significantly differently, and you addressed that already.

      @@dougmccuskerpoker your 1-3 game was higher than my comfort zone too. I was surprised I was able to calm down enough so I wasn’t playing with scared money. It’s another reason I don’t play poker in Texas, even the low stakes games play bigger here and have numerous PLO double board bomb pots that always seem to have 3 or more players going all in. I may try Reno as Vegas has gotten way too pricy and too stingy comping players nothing anymore. Heck I love the game at Capital. I’ll have to figure out a way to get back out there next year

    I love your videos. You are a real card shark 🦈🦈🦈🦈. Every player that you stack says something. Good experienced players are good enough to fold strong hands and weak players don't know how. Well looking forward to the next video. Happy Thanksgiving 🦃🦃🦃🦃

    Games are bigger here in TX. It took me a while to get used to them. Went to NJ a few months ago and played 1/3 at Borgata. It was like penny ante (lol). Crushed it.
    Saw below you had dinner with Matt when you were here, I've played with him a few times at the Lodge. He's a really nice guy. I do miss his vlogs though.

      Matt and I chatted quite a bit when he started vlogging. Always wanted to meet face to face so we arranged some time together away from the felt. We had a good time and I look forward to seeing him again. I know many that miss his vlogs 😩

    I play alot in the Shreveport area. The $1/3 game there plays more like a $2/5. Several $15-$25 opens and pots can get big really fast.

    Disappointed to not get to watch you play at the Lodge. Hopefully they'll air it soon. It's funny to hear you say your regular game doesn't play big cause I think it plays huge for a 1/3! I remember the days of $300 buyins for 1/3 but its $500 here in Chicago & $1k is the 2/5. Your game there at Capitol plays huge for me!

      The 1-3 plays bigger than many 2-5 games. The live stream was basically a 5-10-25 game.

    Bad beat on the unalive stream (late for Halloween). Hope you had a great vacation without it.
    Glad you weren't about to fold the flopped flush.
    Beautiful hero call with A9. That's above the rim.
    That flush vs trips was brilliant, you sized those bets perfectly 🤩
    Nice to have you back, glad it felt good to be home. As I like to say, "There's no vlog like Doug's" 😂

    • @dougmccuskerpoker
      @dougmccuskerpoker  11 місяців тому

      Hero calls can cut both ways, they look really stupid when you’re wrong. Flush vs JJJ, sizing up is a must, one of the things I learned on my trip to Texas.

    • @jrcorsey
      @jrcorsey 11 місяців тому

      @@dougmccuskerpoker just that is enough to make the trip worth while. You'll pay for a lot of trips to Texas applying that lesson.
      And yes, if you get above the rim and miss, you look very foolish indeed. Oh, that 'clunk-tun-tun-tun-tun' stays with you. 😑 But you still got above the rim, which few people ever do 😄

    The hand where are you had AK and lost to J5. When it was your turn and you only had $15 invested, I think you should have either folded or raised to isolate. J5 would almost certainly fold before the flop. If you’re going to play it, get it down to heads up.

    • @dougmccuskerpoker
      @dougmccuskerpoker  10 місяців тому +1

      true, I was hesitant because I ran very poorly with AK in Texas. Normally I would isolate against most players

    • @kmdskins
      @kmdskins 10 місяців тому

      @@dougmccuskerpoker I get it, there’s been times where I have folded preflop with that ham because of the preflop action told me that at best I was flipping. And there are times that I just don’t want to flip for my whole stack. So, when you’re feeling that way about that hand, there’s nothing wrong with just folding a pre-flop.
