  • so over the past year I have been going though this journey of trying to grow my hair back by slowing cutting the damage off little by little however it has not been successful. This is a consequence of following professional stylist.
I just wanted to share that this whole damage has been documented.
This has been extremely hard for all the ladies experiencing damage hair from so called professional.

I have been cutting my hair for the past year now. This is eventually what I had to do in the end.
To be free of damage hair and to once again embrace my natural hair has been so far amazing.
I also wanted to point out that the area of my hair that looked like I have a bald spot isn't at all my hair is very fine in that area and those were the areas that I had thinning from postpartum.
to put the icing on the cake I have several grey hairs in that area as well.
I want to address this since I have individual trying to make a diagnosis on my scalp.

Wow Rosie you look amazing!! You certainly have the face & bone structure for it. I shaved my head completely bald a while back but actually kept it like that for years until I fully learned how to properly take care of my hair. I had scalp issues my whole life so shaving it off & learning about my hair from the root was really helpful to my hair journey. Aveeno (oatmeal) soap was my friend during this stage and healed my scalp completely from chemical burns, heat tool burns, etc.. + it was cool to see how quickly my hair would grow back before I shaved it off again. And if I chose to have hair one day/night, I could just slap on a wig! Lol
I actually feel like every woman should shave their head at least once in their lives to feel the freedom of being beautiful WITHOUT hair, which for society tends to be one of the main quantifiers of our beauty. You’ll be amazed at how beautiful you’ll feel when it’s coming from inside & radiating outward, just from rocking a baldie.
Sry for the long comment. I’m just so excited for you & your journey. It’s only up from here! ♥️

I agree!! Shaving my head was such a spiritual, emotional, physical and mental journey. It helped me to grow as a woman and to harness my feminine energy despite my physical attributes. I’ve done it a few times in my life. Thank you for sharing and I’m so happy your scalp is better.

I agree and what you just explained is exactly why. It’s so healthy for the mindset to have this journey, but some folks can’t out of their own way and a big chop is the only way to actually take the journey.

I am sorry you were dealing with scalp issues because that can really put a damper on how you enjoy your hair.
My sister suffers from scalp issues and I feel bad for her at times.
My sister wants to cut her hair like mine but she has scalp issues.
Cutting my hair this short was one on my best decision, no regrets.
I feel so free and at peace.
No doubt I had a few people who wanted to push their insecurities off on me but I wore my hair out like that every day since I big chopped

@DIAMONDGIRL57 thank you for Sharing. I also enjoy cutting my hair on my own terms, this was however difficult because I just wanted to grow out my hair. I worked hard at doing that without braids just washing weekly so it was a bummer to have to cut it.
Lesson learned, this whole process was a money grab and as a result many BW had to cut their hair. It’s not a secret that many stylist have had to navigate since so many Sisters have decided to go natural.
I do believe many are not pleased because for them it’s more work also many don’t fully understand how to treat or care for our hair.

As a professional cosmetologist I am always honest with my clients, when you asked if thats a bald spot, and he said No,its just light....I looked at a few of your older videos, and I didn't see the light spots there before, so that means something has changed and or caused the thinning in those areas. I've noticed this in clients who have had an an immune issue, mostly caused by stress or a sickness that impacted the immune system like covid 19... Telogen Effluvium) eventually it should grow back ,just a little advice keep it simple with your hair,Less is Best..

I agree totally with your suggestion…please see a dermatologist to evaluate your scalp. Many times it’s internal things that are going on and not necessarily the method you used to do. Sometimes it’s iron deficiency or other causes that we aren’t aware of. I’m sorry you felt the need to do a drastic step for your hair problem. And I admire you for being so courageous.
God Bless and much success ❤️🙏🏾🙏🏾

So the barber is correct it’s not a bald spot. (Postpartum shedding) and it just have never filled back in as before since 2019.
I inspected the area myself, I am not certain if you have been following my content but I have shared information about my hair.
I will link the video below.
I have very fine hair strands in that area.
      I don’t wear braids etc.
Also I have been very vocal upon noticing breakage I went to a doctor. We did blood work etc and upon inspection of my scalp, my scalp was in impeccable.
So I did my due diligence 😅
The method caused the issue I experienced not only on my hair but hundreds of women. It caused many to have developed scalp issues including myself.
      My hair 🙏🏾has grown back.
Also I always flip my hair to cover that side so you wouldn’t have noticed it in my videos.

I can say from personal experience that LLLT works because I have been using it due to CCCA and my hair is doing so good. My CCCA was caught in the early stages so I never had a bald spot. I did have massive shedding and the LLLT has been very helpful in combination with other medical therapies from my dermatologist. The medical therapies controlled the inflammatory process but the LLLT increased growth and allowed my hair to thicken up again.

Thank you, and thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I was very consistent with my RLT hat and it thickened up that area nicely.
Those areas are my light areas so I don’t expect my hair there to be like the middle of my hair, but so far I am impressed at how the RLT treatment worked on thickening that area up.
I have serums but I am very inconsistent, I rarely remember to use them.

That dumb method messed my hair up as well. I had to cut another 3 inches off this week as well. Thinking to just leave the gels and wash n gos alone and flat twist hair and keep it away in a scarf for the next couple of months. That seems to always grow my hair. Luv you sis 🌹You’ve been thru so much with your hair journey ❤. I must say that I’m glad you decided to go low bc you were able to see that you have some scalp damage as well. Hair follicles damage. My opinion, I’m still set against you using the Red light therapy I told you my reason a few wks ago. Also, if you’re really serious about healthy Thickerr hair , some of my advice, is always use olive oil & coconut oil. Always. Never skip! On top of whatever your using. Get it super Thickk. 😍. & No Heat! Chemicals.ect., You have a beautiful face for the big chop. If you need more tips let me know. I had some bald spots.& hairline. Go Grease sis. Vaseline is also grease. The base of every grease is Petrolatum or for some, Mineral Oil which is also Petrolatum in a liquid form. You can check their ingredients list however, some are thicker/gooey than others which is the reason I prefer either Blue Magic or Soulmate Hair Food.

So what I can say is that it is the only new addition to what I have been doing since 2020 after experiencing postpartum shedding in that area.
I have been consistently taking my vitamins but since using the RLT therapy treatment the area filled it.
Listen I was skeptical too , but it did what it said it would do.
Since the area has thicken up I have not used it since.

I don't have a cut like yours that allows me to compare and realised it is not normal but now I understand that I might have to big chop well at least cut my hair shortly, it might not be visible damage! At least I will make some economy because the amount of treatment I am trying is too much 😅

You’re welcome, yes there is a way to cut tightly coiled hair. I had cut my hair stretched for years and never had any issues with split ends or shape.
Communication is key when you are cutting to wear your hair straight.
I feel if the stylist is new to cutting your hair, and you wear your hair curly is to show up curly to your appointment so they can have an idea how your hair falls with the current cut.
For me personally I would be hard pressed before I let anyone do a curly cut on my hair again.

I ask because you initially cut your hair very short and could have just grew out the little bit of BGC treated hair. Do you plan to color again after ur hair grows back?
I asked about you coloring because Im tempted to color my hair as well. I followed your channel after seeing that Quidad thumbnail pic of your hair😍 I say if you grew it once then you can do it again 🫶🏾 I dont comment much but i always give your vids a like. So if you notice I have been cutting for over a year now, this damage isn’t like a normal damage where trimming the end is suffice .
I have always colored my hair, the new hair was colored too and it was soft.
I know what my hair should feel like. I have been natural for over 10 years.
I want you to take note that the rough ends is what many experienced from the method.
There was no way I was going to continue to deal with my hair doing that.
Everyone hair responds differently to hair dye, my only recommendation is not to use box dye if possible.
Also based on the hair coloring you are choosing can determine the damage.
Yes I am going to color my hair 😁.
