      @@ukshocker Well i hawe the same ishue but i hawe noticed that if i don't drive car for more than 6 days the back right air suspention leaks and the car lowers for about 5 cm. If i unlock the car and open one of the dors the sistem pumps back that rear air bag susipention. So the light for air suspention is alerting me every time i start the car.
      Friend who is car mechanick just told me that some of those high end cars hawe supervision electronicks which determ with what curent to charge batery. Well that was anews to me i did't know that. So after i change it i willhead to my friend for him to reset the sensor...
      Well i will say after owning the car for 2 and a half years the car is a money pit. Whay ? Well when ever i hawe pushed the envelope and use all of it's potencial i had some terible ishue to fix. This time the engine must go out and the seling must be changed... The compesion is pushing the antifriz out of the sistem when ever i pust the car so the turbos engage. When i drive normaly antifriz stays in the sistem. I gues that 16 years old material is worn out and tuning of the engine electronicks from stock 450 hp to 530 - hp had done it's job. Stil i will own this car. The share look of Techart Magnum compared to moder car yells .... I'm bad mother fucker on steroides. The share with of car is almost 20 cm wider from the stock Cayenne Turbo... 😆

    Great video! You have a good helper there! Keep him greasy ;) I installed a Bosch 49-850BAGM (H8 size) and agree with your measurements that it is ~2" shorter in length. No biggie IMO as the H9/stock is tight tight in there. Even going slow this took about 30 minutes. Easy process, just be careful on the plastic bits to get them on and off properly w/o bending tabs. Thank You!

    NOTE ON BATTERY SIZE: In the video I say I used an H8 battery, as is recommended by most automotive retailer online battery configurators. I later realized that even though I ordered an H8, I was actually given an H9 battery, and that is the correct size for this vehicle. An H8 battery is the same height and width as H9, but the length (the longest dimension of the battery) is shorter. An H8 will fit, but the Cold Cranking Amps (CCA) are typically lower than an equivalent H9 battery. The minimum recommend CCA for this vehicle is 850CCA, and anything above that is gravy. Most H9 batteries put you at 900CCA +. I recommend the H9 size, as long as it's available in your area.

    Thanks so much for making this video and helping teach the next generation how to wrench! :-) Special thanks regarding the H8 vs H9 battery size. There was an H8 battery in my 2009 CTTS and it was only a year old but was clearly not "enough" for the car. Local Porsche dealer confirmed that it should be the H9 for my VIN as well. Would've never known that if you hadn't mentioned it here so thanks for that!

    Great video, especially with your kid helping. Teach him early! Is your fire extinguisher a factory fit? Also, the physical size of that replacement looked smaller than the one you took out?

    • @motorsmegabytesmods9936
      @motorsmegabytesmods9936  8 років тому +1

      +iVlog The fire extinguisher was a factory option ordered with the truck new. There is some confusion with the battery sizes, as I discovered. Many of the online battery configurators say an H8 battery size is the correct for this model series, and it's what I ordered based on the online tools. The reality is H9 is the correct size (it's a little longer, the height and width are the same as H8), and to my good fortune, Advance Auto gave me an H9 instead of an H8. An H8 will fit, but you may be sacrificing cold cranking amps (850cca is the minimum, if I recall correctly). The two battery clamps should hold either size in place, but the H9 is really what you want.

    Any ideas? Two days ago my audio/phone hangup/pickup button on the steering wheel stopped responding... The Tiptronic and steering illumination buttons all work as do wiper, cruise and indicator stalks. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    • @motorsmegabytesmods9936
      @motorsmegabytesmods9936  7 років тому

      +iVlog is it just the one button on the steering wheel that isn't functioning? My guess is the electrical contact in the switch doesn't have enough conductivity to do its thing. I've had similar things happen on my phone, but it was more a function of the button being slightly stuck. In that case, I dipped a cotton swap in rubbing alcohol, put a very small drop of alcohol on the button and pushed it rapidly until I had better movement. It's possible this may help with the switch on your steering wheel, but it's a very different mechanism. If physical movement is the problem, this trick has a hint of working. Use the isopropyl alcohol very sparingly, and blow in the area to dry to alcohol quickly. They great thing about isopropyl alcohol it is a good solvent, but it evaporates quickly so there's less likely if a changed of it doing any damage.

    How do you move the seat if the battery is dead?

    • @motorsmegabytesmods9936
      @motorsmegabytesmods9936  6 років тому +1

      You need to get power to the car. If you pop the hood, there’s an access panel to terminals for jump starting the car. You connect either a charger (using a relatively high amp setting) or jumper cables attached to another car, to get electricity flowing. As long as you have enough juice getting to the cayenne, you should be able to move the seat (no need to actually start the car). Some chargers connect through the cigarette socket inside the car, but if you’re battery is completely dead you probably won’t be able to get enough current to the system that way.

  • @xlmesomorph
    @xlmesomorph 7 років тому

    Hey there I like your video! I just have one question: how do you adjust the seat first forwards and then backwards electrically if the battery is empty? My battery is completely empty nothing is working. Is it possible to change the battery if you cannot adjust the seat forward and backward?

    • @motorsmegabytesmods9936
      @motorsmegabytesmods9936  7 років тому +1

      +Trygve Sætherskar you definitely to get a little juice in the battery to move the seat around in order to access the battery. As you could see in the video, there are a few different seat repositioning efforts before you have access. Two thoughts come to mind in your case. One is to put a charger (or even a low amp battery maintainer) on the jump start points. If you pop the hood, there is a plastic panel on the far right side of the engine bay. Remove the plastic lid and you'll see the battery jump posts. The other option is to use a trickle charger that plugs into your cigarette lighter. One of those methods should give you enough power to move the seat around, just be sure to disconnect them before you disconnect the main battery. Let me know if you need suggestions on battery chargers or maintainers, and I'll point you in the right direction. Also, you'll want an H9 battery, not an H8 (although, either will fit).

    • @xlmesomorph
      @xlmesomorph 7 років тому

      Motors, Megabytes, & Mods - Thanks a lot for your reply! I've tried to put a charger on to the battery jump posts, but the charger just signals that the battery is out of order/dead - thus impossible to charge. The other problem I have is that the car is currently parked in a very small narrow garage and without any power in the battery I can't even move the car out of the garage. And because of a recent operation on my shoulder I can't use both my arms at the moment, so I guess I just have to call a tow truck to take the car to the Porsche workshop where they will change the battery for the neat little sum of US$770. Apparently that's the price to change the battery on this car in Norway at the moment. Thanks again for your response and for your videos! :-)

    • @motorsmegabytesmods9936
      @motorsmegabytesmods9936  7 років тому +1

      +Trygve Sætherskar I've seen that happen when the battery is too dead and the charger is too low current. Sometimes giving them a jolt of higher current helps. If you want to give it one more go, I suggest either using a charger with a "starter" option, where it kicks the amps up from 2 amps to around 40 amps, or connecting jumper cables to another car. One of those options might give you enough juice to move the seat around.
      I'm very sorry to hear about your shoulder, and I hope you find a cheaper way out of this than $770! Perhaps make a few calls to friends and see if anyone has a charger with starter level current, or hope a set of jumper cables makes it to the front of the car from the donor car. Best of luck!

    • @xlmesomorph
      @xlmesomorph 7 років тому

      Motors, Megabytes, & Mods - Thanks a lot for another useful, as well as a very empathetic reply! It is most appreciated! :-) The first I will try is to jump start it from another car :-)

    • @motorsmegabytesmods9936
      @motorsmegabytesmods9936  7 років тому +1

      +Trygve Sætherskar Best of luck with it! Let it run a couple of minutes, and hopefully it eeks out enough power while connected and the other car (that should be running) that you have enough juice to move the seat. If you give the donor car a little throttle, you'll temporarily get more current to the Cayenne, so give that a go as well. I wish you a speedy recovery, this stuff is even more arduous when you're injured or in pain.

  • @hectorsanchez3995

    hey buddy I need some help my Cayenne battery is dead so I can't move the seat forward or back how can I change the battery the best way

    • @motorsmegabytesmods9936
      @motorsmegabytesmods9936  7 років тому

      +Hector Sanchez you need to get power to the car so you move that seat around. Otherwise, there is no way to change the battery. The easiest way is to pop the hod and use the jump start terminals (I believe they are on the driver's side of the engine bay) and hook up either a battery charger or jumper cables to another vehicle. If using the battery charger, put it on the highest amperage setting and hopefully it will give enough power to move the seat. You may have to let it charge for a couple of minutes before there's enough juice to move the seat. If the battery is too dead, this may not be enough amperage, and you can try hooking up jumper cables to another car and let the second car run while you move the seat in your Cayenne.
      Best of luck!
