Wow our school curriculums are really similar especially the night flow and scrubbing in parts. Your vlog makes me want to travel the states hehe. Thanks for another great video Jamie. Love you💕
Lena and Jamie are my favourite youtuber recently :) *RESPECT* Both of you are so amazing as a med student despite the busy schedule, both of you can still edit and upload the videos! Keep it up!👍 Love both of you ! Fighting 😘
Your vlogs are so interesting even though i'm not considering going to med school... idk how you make time in your busy schedule to upload these but i'm glad you do ;)
I always get so inspired after watching your videos. I'm still an undergrad and not even planning on going to med school (more like law) but you make me wanna get to work. 💪🏻 you're goals all-around. date me.
Poor lady, "Last night...no, wait this morning, I went to bed at 7am...So...I woke up at 1pm", "the salad you guys saw, possibly earlier this vlog, I've no idea what's gonna go where...at this point...the salad" hahaha, aww, you can tell how much your body is not used to the weird schedule yet. I feel for ya! Stay strong :) Also, Jamie, seeing your life in medicine, upfront and personal gives me so much inspiration to go to medical school! When I think about the 4+ years, I forget that past the first two years, it is not the same as traditional school and that you actually have the privilege of being in a clinic, working, putting your knowledge into practice. Wow, to me, that is so special and definitely what I've always wanted to do! So, thank you for sharing as much as you can, when you can.
Im currently pre-med and I love seeing what med school is like. Thanks so much for putting so much effort into your videos it is so helpful and I enjoy watching them so much!
I love your vlogs! I'm a third year medstudent from Brazil, and it's so cool to see how things are different. Congratulations on the channel, it's amazing how you manage your time and post such great videos!
I LOVE this video so much! Thank you for giving your viewers a personal and close-up look into your life as a 3rd year medical student! It was such an insightful video and I appreciate how much effort you must have put in to share this with us! Looking forward to hearing more about your rotations and what you enjoyed/found challenging :)
this was so fun to watch! love how you take the time to get some clips in at the hospital. I was wondering if you could do a video on working with nurses? I'm a nursing student so I'd love know what the relationship is like between nurses and doctors/med students!
Kimberly Faith same here! I am a first year nursing student and would love to know about the relationship between doctors and nurses, I always a hear a lot of bad things unfortunately but I hope they're not true
I'm new to your channel but I'm glad I found it because I want to go to medical school as well. You're so inspiring and helpful! These videos actually keep me so motivated in my undergrad years now!
Republicans & Democrats do not need nor deserve any medical care. Doctors & nurses need to stop giving them any help. That is the capitalist way: that is the ONLY thing that matters to these subhumans.
I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS all my friends do on my Monday's is take about ur video from Saturday right after our bio lecture keep up the good work A medical school student and a UA-camr ur doing amazing
Hey Jamie, amazing video! As a senior pre-medical student (applying next cycle), your videos are incredible motivation. Just a small suggestion for future videos: try to level out the music to the loudness of your voice, so that headphone users don't have to keep turning the volume down and back up. Thanks, and keep the vids coming!
Hey ! I recently found out your channel and I am a huge fans of you! :) I really enjoy your vlog! especially those related to study ! All the best in your studies! Fighting :D
Randomly came across your videos. As a former nursing student, it's interesting to see the perspective of a medical student. Keep up the studying! Gosh, seeing those books reminds me of the nursing school days...of which I don't want to remember or relive haha. +1 to subs, definitely looking forward to your vlogs regarding telemetry type patients in the future (I work on a cardiac tele floor) and see your experiences as a med student.
Hi Jamie! You really inspire me to study hard! I admire your diligence and drive! I am taking up my MA but I see a lot of tips from your vlogs that could also help me in my studying! :)
Hi! 😊 Thanks for taking the time to upload another amazing vlog! Wow! Another interesting experience to share with us! Congrats on your first baby delivery! Greetings from Peru! 😉
Thank you so much for the study music recommendation! :D I'm having a barrage of exams recently and music really helps me focus on studying. Good luck in med school! :DD
That was a really good video. I think you really covered the anxiety medstudents have toward their first night float rotation. I tried the same thing of going to sleep later the day before but in the end, the first night is always brutal. Your ob rotation sounds reallly humane. They made us do 16 hr day and night shifts every other 2 days. I didn't even make it to my bed that week. sigh. That was my worst memory, worse than my q3 27hr trauma surgery calls.
I'd suggest buying one of those sleep masks to block out brightness when you sleep! I sleep better (and longer) ever since buying one since any little bit of light also keeps me awake haha. Great video :)
The part where you had energy all day and was not able to sleep then got tired getting in the car to work reminds of my night shift days as a nurse, worst feeling ever! And when you came back home, crashed and woke up early, except you're not grumpy like I was, haha.
As always, I love the editing in your vlogs! Must be very hard to adapt to a night float. You looked very tired the day after your first night float. Stay strong!
Love your vlogs! Maybe a tips and tricks video for surviving night shift when you're done with OB GYN rotation? I'm hoping to get into nursing school soon and I'm probably gonna be on an overnight shift with my first hospital job so any advice would be welcomed!
I'm a med student too. Its really tiresome and stressful. Lately I found out that I have anxiety disorder, even I got panic attack when it just one night before surgery exam. For some reason your videos make me calm. I learn a lot from you, from how to keep focus to manage study time effectively. Thank you so much. I wish you a very best luck for your ob/gyn rotation :) *sorry for terrible grammar, its not my main language
You are such an amazing inspiration!! What are you planning to specialize in when you finish Medical School? Also, is it true that you know your 4th year rotations already????
What kind of doctor are you leaning towards being? I would love to become a doctor, and I love watching these vlogs that you post when your are on your rotations!!!
#teamwatermelon! Hahah :) Thank you for this amazing video once again. You really do motivate myself and I am sure you motivate others to. Your vlogs always make me happy whenever I see them in my notifications. You really put the effort into these videos it is great! I'm glad your night shifts went well and that you delivered a baby girl I bet that was a lovely experience. Thank you very much for another amazing video! Soon I will be uploading videos about my study's ! :)
I'm so jealous of all the time you get to sleep! Hahaha during my ob/gyn rotation I had "night shifts" every 4 days.. and on weekends that meant that I went in at 8am and came out 8am the next morning.. or if it was sunday to monday then I came in sunday 8am and went out monday 2pm or so. No sleep time haha so sleep as much as you can! :D
your videos are so amazing! idk what it is about you but you give me such good vibes :) i wish i was as motivated as you are tbh, how do you do it? im not in med school yet but as much as i want to do well, i always find myself doing anything other than what i'm supposed to be doing (an assignment, studying...) how do you keep on track? keep up the videos btw, you're my new favourite channel!
totally in love with your vlog, great work Jamie! just want to know, if it do not mind, what is the brand of your grey sweater in this video (the logo is a dog) ? Xxx
love your vlogs! thanks so much for sharing. what inspires you to remain healthy through med school? i watched a couple other med school vlogs and they're constantly eating awful.
Great videos and a great way to see med school and life balance. What are the opening songs you use in your videos? Do you get them from the playlists you post?
Interesting! Is it possible for the resident / other medical staff to page you / come get you if they need you (ie. when you are resting, instead of having to get 30 minute increments of sleep)?
Hey Jamie, I don't know how to say that but in 5:37 there is a song where the girl says bad words in portuguese haha Just for you to know lol I love your vlogs! They get me inspired :D
heyyy ! thank you for your med school videos very much, my english is little bit na. but i want to tell u that i want to be a med student like u na and i won't give up! i like ur video 👍👍 😄
Haha same! By the time I finish all my homework, it's already late and I just want to sleep so I can't really work out. It's crazy how Jamie finds time to do all that!
I'm in my 2nd year of undergrad and just discovered your vlogs. They're really helping me to stay motivated. I'm thinking of DO school. Have you met any ?
Hi Jamie, please give us some advice abt keeping healthy during night shifts. I work night shifts sometimes and still find it so hard to keep a balance between eating healthy/ getting regular sleep/ exercise. Thanks!!
This is what I want to do with my life, I'm just so scared I'll lose focus and I have no clue where to get started. I graduate high school this year and I have to get some classes out of the way I didn't get to do like a year of language and alg 2. But after that what classes am I supposed to take as pre med?
Thanks so much for your videos!! I'm a first year and I was wondering about the stitches. Did you learn this skill in year 2 or during your rotations? I know at my school they have a surgery club that teaches suture clinics but I never knew if it was worth the time if I'm already going to learn in class. Thanks!
