For me the reference to 'naked children' feels like an allusion to the act of baptism, emphasising the notion of the burst pipe as a sacred blessing and connoting a sense of life rejuvenated after the endless drought which is described in the opening stanza.
I think your English lit poetry videos definitely the best ones on your channel! I watched them all and got a 9 in my English lit mocks! Thank u! I got only got a 6 in my English language and was wondering if you can make advice videos on essay writing and comprehensions?
Ms R could the free verse also suggest how the community members feel free for a certain amount of time due to the 'blessing'? Thank you for the videos.
Mango Because the poem does not just include the freedom of the pipe bursting, as you can read in the first stanza, I think it is difficult to argue this. Instead, you might want to argue that the free verse highlights the unpredictability of when they’ll get their next “break”. Alternatively, you could consider how the free verse allows Dharker to put more emphasis on certain words. Look at the list of materials, for example, and the chaos created through enjambment..

Puts poetry back into perspective as a special form of communicating the sacred. All that's essential in literature.
