It's not necessarily humility, it's the FEAR of going broke that never leaves you when you grow up poor. Doesn't matter how rich you become later in life
When you used to be poor and you've worked your way up you know the value of money. Someone who's just been given everything without having to work for it does not know the value.
That's because you never stopped being poor mentally and spiritually speaking. People who became rich and got there through effort realize at some point that that much money is meaningless, as long as you have a house, food and you're doing what you love, that's true fortune, no watches or clothes or any of that nonsense. Being poor is a scarcity mentality, being rich is being grateful and thankful for what you have and making the best out of it.
Yeah And if you've had a life/come from a background of not having enough money to just buy anything while growing up, not even basic necessities it's really hard to shake off that "is that really necessary now?" Question running through your head even when you have a lot of money and you decide to buy something expensive. It's a mindset and sometimes I feel it's for the better but emphasis on the word sometimes. Ofc we shouldn't turn super stingy and just not even spend money on basic necessities and a Lil funtime occasionally but it mostly prevents over boarding and develops an actual sense of money's value.
It can go both ways. Either they pinch every penny because they are still in survival mode or they splurge because they were never taught how to manage. I was diagnosed with cancer at 19 and had to do chemo. I went into remission and started working and got married and we did really well for ourselves but the chemo ended up damaging my heart and I went into heart failure. The first year we went through $34k in medical bills, that’s out of pocket after insurance, pre Obama care which caused them to refuse covering things because it was “pre existing” I was blessed and we had the money saved for something else but we still had it. The next year it was $17k and I couldn’t work anymore. My hubby crumbled under the pressure of watching all of this money going to treatments and his wife was still dying so I had to let him go to save his sanity. I was put on disability but then I got worse and almost needed a transplant but instead I got a pacemaker and a defibrillator and the only meds that saved me were $810 a month. My disability barely covered my rent alone. I ended up living in my car for 8 months during the pandemic but once I got my apartment I counted every penny every single day for two years budgeting and hanging on to it for dear life. Even after 2 years of being able to work steadily I still haven’t purchased a TV or even a sofa because I am still stuck in that mentality where I can start declining again and have to stop working. I don’t think I will ever be able to stop thinking that way tbh
This is why i ❤ Eminem. He does what he does because he ❤️ it and wanted a stable life for his kids, not because he wanted to buy expensive things and get all kinds of asss. That's why he will always be the best.

All the time and effort put into accumulating wealth is just wasted time and energy if you're not spending it (Artists like Eminem are maybe an exception because they follow their passion and just happen to make money with it, but I highly doubt that Jeff Bezos founded Amazon with any other intention than making money).

Yup. It's very hard to believe that we somehow now deserve it.
You still have scarcity mind..
It's not fear u just know better, tf fearm😅😂😂
When you come from nothing, most of the time you appreciate what you have
💯
More like when you come from nothing and you work for what you have, you appreciate what you have. Rappers and boxers usually blow all the money.
Yeah
And if you've had a life/come from a background of not having enough money to just buy anything while growing up, not even basic necessities it's really hard to shake off that "is that really necessary now?" Question running through your head even when you have a lot of money and you decide to buy something expensive.

Not spending the money is how you stay rich

All the time and effort put into accumulating wealth is just wasted time and energy if you're not spending it (Artists like Eminem are maybe an exception because they follow their passion and just happen to make money with it, but I highly doubt that Jeff Bezos founded Amazon with any other intention than making money).
I mean that would be true if there weren’t also businesses that literally got wealthier by investing in and putting out advanced and competitive products

So many get a taste of money and fame and rest on their laurels or go a different way. It must be a fine balance and for that reason I have so much respect for people like Em that persevered. The odds were definitely against you and yet here you still are. And for those of us hear that took anything from your music, I think I can speak for us when I tell you we are grateful.
Your treasure is where your heart is.
Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
His daughter is where his heart is. Hailey Hangs the moon and raises the sun in his world. Em loves his daughters but Hailey....you best be careful when saying her name.
Matthew 6: 21. I think. And I only know that because I was a treasure diver.

And he’s wearing a Gshock? I love this man. How are people gonna make fun of someone for being financially cautious?
Nobody made fun of him, genius.
Gshoch is a more precise, more resilient and better watch than any Rolex ever.
He literally said he gets made fun of for it@@hustle717

He's not even cautious about money. It's just irrelevant to him.
A man who doesn't need more than a piece to see time has my respect.

Bro I love my black G-Shock
Luxury Watches are not for people to see what tíme it is
This man deserves respect,we 90s generation in Albania love him for being a true man and talented as well
One of the few rappers of his generation who didn't just get iced out and spend his money on stupid shit.
Never understood why people like you cry and moan because people chose to do whatever the fuck they want with their earnings

The most deserving of his fame and wealth. So humble🙏🏻
Uh...humble? No more like PTSD. .and he's got a huge ego but unlike some - his is not delusional. He's the man
@@ADHDMartialArtsFiend-vw3fjmore interesting facts: Eminem may actually have aspergers not sure it he has been officially diagnosed but there is plenty of speculative evidence that may suggest it could
Be true.. he also talks about it in his songs.. which may clue in as to why what you said may hold truth
@solemagus4761 definitions change over time too. Anthony Hopkins on the spectrum...it can sometimes be subtle in terms of outward appearance
lol humble it seems
@@solemagus4761I'm a fan, but not one that pays attention to every interview or little detail. But this would actually make a LOT of sense. He's always been "different" than others in the business, imo. Very thoughtful, introverted, clearly incredibly intelligent, never seemed comfortable in the spotlight. Makes total sense.
When a man comes from real struggle, he knows the value of money
mainly, he knows the value of people e.a. their character!😏🙄
@@disclaimerLe 💯
you could say he doesn't care for spending $100k on something that he can get for $2k and does the same thing.
I mean there’s been a crap ton of athletes that came from nothing and got wealthy real quick, and end up broke after retiring whether or not they lasted 2-5 yrs or 5-10 yrs or even longer in the league. And all because they wanted to buy the best of everything.
Knows the value? He doesn’t know shit about money and is financially illiterate, He’s entitled and has never had to do his own finances, Taxes, planning, investing etc
That’s why I love this guy…he’s not trying to be someone he’s not, man enough to say “I don’t know”…

Respect. Humility is underrated.
So is M&M
It’s not humility, it’s just growing up broke
Marshall had not forgot where he come from, what he lived through since his years till becomming an internationally acclaimed rapper.
This is one of the Things why i do love Eminem from the 90's.
Big spending is just compensating and ego.
Didn't this dude buy a half a milion dollar NFT?
He got wiser fast. Plus his initial caution was where a lot messed up. He honestly was one of the wiser artists out there. Because he didn't take anything for granted..
He's still alive and pumping out new music, just saying.
@@user-od3yc8mr6w past tense as this situation and interview is about his first purchase. I'm not implying he is dead or anything. Haven't heard much in a couple years.just saying he learned from others doing the wrong thing. A lot of artist lost money by frivolous spending. He was smarter at the time of that interview. Now I hear he was in rehab and lost some money due to issues. So back then vs now. Big difference
Lil Wayne is actually way smarter than people give him credit for also. Never seen him need money and he’s kind of faded away.
@@loganmott2015 he invested heavily and put a lot into certain brands. As did Shaquille O'Neal and some other rappers that got smart quick. But Wayne always was a sharp one. You can tell whenever he talks he isn't a dumb kind of guy. Wouldn't be one to fall into pits like Mr Eminem did. Like addictions, expensive hobbies and baby mama drama draining his accounts. As his Slim Shady alter ego kind of telling to his more impulsive side. He learned the hard way about man's ruin. And got smarter in the process.
Wayne was a bit more responsible and sensible. He is less impulsive and more cautious by nature. A thinker if you will. You can hear that when he speaks. Everything is mental. Nothing comes from emotion. He's laid back. Eminem is a very much emotionally driven character.
He probably tried to end his life 10+ times off xans perks an whatever else
I just love Eminem ❤. He is not only the best rapper but he has also throughout it all has managed to stay humble. I love the way he loves his daughter and he still makes sure her mother is taken care of, what a up standing human ❤
