If you want a cry you should watch her singing with a Terminal cancer patient, they did Dog Days together. And her compassion for the young woman was beautiful. Right there holding her hand.
Anything from her Royal Albert Hall concert is amazing.

You can actually watch her do this same song in the same way with the same people 7 years later. Her voice has became so seasoned over the years. It’s so ethereal and captivating.
If you haven’t checked out her new stuff, especially her live performances you’re definitely missing out. She’s probably one of if not the best live performers I’ve ever witnessed.

Maynard is amazing with his instrumentality in his music but this is next level. Florence is just so unassuming in this best comp of this song. She looks like she just got back from grocery shopping, then BAM she starts singing and you're enchanted.

As a hardcore fan of hers, I recommend you listen to her Popcrush best live vocals to give you a wide array of her voice, but also her MTV Unplugged performance is amazing aswell and each of her albums has its own story and chapter in her life with its own style of music unique to her so I highly recommend you check her/them out in depth as you will not be disappointed. She really is a remarkably powerful and dynamic vocalist, but she has incredible stage presence too. She's something of a Pagan goddess to her fans, she kind of sprinkles that theme of mother Earth and the elements throughout her work. If you see any of her videos you'll definitely get that vibe, especially from songs like Hunger. She's also an amazing actor. Although I don't think she's been cast in any movie roles you can see she has the ability from the cinematic work she likes to create to accompany her music.
One of the best live performances I've seen was from a Spotify event in Brooklyn in 2018 when she sang "Sky Full of Song" and appears to actually manifest a thunder storm that comes down and whips around the stage. The band continues to play and she leans into it as the sky lights up and the wind whips around the stage, even knocking over a cymbal which crashes to the floor at seemingly the right time.
I would definitely recommend watching that, it's quite remarkable.

I hope you do happen to do more videos on her. She is my favorite artist of today. Next to Kate Bush probably EVER. I love watching videos like this because it's nice to watch other people enjoy what you enjoy and open it up as a topic and start a conversation on it and in cases with Vocal coaches, teach me something about something I like. :)
and I know what you mean by her music taking shapes with her voice. Like sometimes you get that operatic roundness and she just weaves her voice around. It's literally like watching Fantasia or something. She picks strong characterizing ways to punch a feeling or a moment in with her idiosyncrasies. She has an etherealness. It feels grounded, earthy, weighty and then the exact opposite. It's dark and strong, heavy and then airy and bright.
I don't know what videos to suggest, but her old iTunes performances and more recent 2015-ish Bridge School Benefit live performances are really nice and decently popular though I'm SURE people will instead recommend her Royal Albert Hall performances which are stunning.

I looove that video I hadn't seen that performance of Patricia before. :)
It's great. It's not a VOCAL SHOWCASE worthy one in terms of like technical talent but it's definitely something I'd show people when it comes to people saying rock is dead or watch or suggest to others. I love how she punches the words with her voice in those tones that really emote her questioning them kind of patronizingly? " Do you feel LOVED? "
      it's so goooood.

I introduced this song to my former partner in life and won her back…. But I got complacent and lost her for good. Even though I still live with her and our son, this song brings me to tears, knowing I lost her forever. I have ignored this tune for a decade yet, it’s the most beautiful thing I have ever heard to this day. It will haunt me forever, but I don’t care. This is art, and will live on forever, as will my love for her, even though she does not see it anymore. Life can be hard yet so breath taking at the same time.

I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU TO REACT TO FLORENCE, THANK YOU ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
(I commented, probably in one of Lara's)
I didn't expect to see this one at first, even though it's one of my favorites. I love it acoustic, it's lovely, heavenly even. But by the end I miss her singing "the stars, the moon..." almost exploding - you guys will know what I mean. She was holding herself cause it was acoustic. Just that part I miss. It's still a masterpiece. And I love the harp.
Still about the "normal" version, and other songs by her, Florence has that rare quality of going from a delicate, enchanted, heavenly voice to a powerhouse. She's otherworldly, as you said. I'm a fan for almost a decade, and seeing her live was one of the best experiences.
Last, but not least, I highly recommend you react to Over The Love: ua-cam.com/video/dg2hjsQ9k3E/v-deo.html

Hi Christi, I really appreciated your video!
I'm a looong long time Florence + the Machine fan, and i think i watched every single live performance of the band that is available here on UA-cam xD (just saying cause i have seen a LOT of performances)
And from all that i watched, i have some suggestions that i feel that will give you the most precise feeling of who is Florence Welch and her band in aspects of their technique (principally vocally).
I made a list with the best of the bests in my opinion, organized by date.
Feel free to watch any of them (or all of them if you want):
    - Florence and the Machine - Shake It Out live at 102.7 The Peak (July 20, 2012)
    - Florence and the Machine - Cosmic Love live at Rock in Rio Brazil (April 7, 2013)
    - Florence + The Machine - You've Got the Love Live at Chime for Change (June 10, 2013)
    - Florence + The Machine - Drumming Song Live at the Royal Albert Hall (December 1, 2013)
    - Florence and the Machine - No Light No Light Live at Acoustic Bridge School (October 25, 2014)
    - Florence + The Machine - Delilah Live on TFI Friday (December 12, 2015)
    - Florence and the Machine - 100 Years (and guest Kelsey Lu) live at Jools Holland on BBC Two (May 29, 2018)
    - Florence + The Machine - Patricia acoustic live at iHeart Radio (November 11, 2018)
    - Florence + The Machine - Jenny Of Oldstones from Game of Thrones Live At Form Festival (May 11, 2019)
    - Florence + The Machine - How Big How Blue How Beautiful live at The New Yorker Festival (October 12, 2019)
Hope you like it, i selected every item of the list with care

Been Florence mad since first hearing them in 2008. Huge evolution over the years too so yes, it always amazes me that people are actually hearing these songs for the first time 🤷‍♀️
I love almost every song on the first 2 albums and like the rest. There are a few i love on HBHBHB & HAH too & the rest i like. They're moving away slowly from what i initially loved about their music but i'll happily listen to whatever they want to put out tbh and Florence's voice only gets better, if you can imagine that being possible.

Florence has been in my personal top 5 female vocalists for years....the others being Floor (Flo & Floor would make for an awesome duet), Sophie Ellis-Bextor (people should check out one of her Kitchen Disco's just for fun), Beth Hart and Sia. Besides being technically great singers what these singers seem to have in common is that what comes out of their mouth is more than just air passing by vibrating vocal cords resulting in a sound that is pleasant to listen to or to communicate information. They add something undefined to it. Especially live these ladies "experience" and in a way become part of what they are singing about and by doing that invoke an emotional reaction in and of the listener. They are emotive storytellers extraordinaire.
I can recommend several Flo or FATM performances where this is the case (them doing "Times like these" by the Foo Fighters at Glastonbury when the Foo had to give up being headliner because Dave Grohl broke a leg performing at another festival for example) but I think you can "get to know her voice" best with her performing "You've Got The Love" at the Royal Albert Hall (and I think you will appreciate the instruments).
    ua-cam.com/video/xLeEGx15SkM/v-deo.html
but my personal favourite must be "Sweet Nothing" at the Echo Arena. While officially not an FATM song but an EDM-track by Calvin Harris (Florence features as the vocalist) their own softer and stripped down live version, Flo in full on "banshee wailing"-mode and the interaction with the audience makes this somewhat of a religious experience.
    ua-cam.com/video/GGikYoLRrJk/v-deo.html
but to get a grasp of the wondrous human being that is named "Florence Leontine Mary Welch" I suggest the next clip of her and Robert Ackroyd visiting a hospital to grant a musical request to one of their fans that was too sick to come to the concert.

I mean I would say this is classic Florence. This is Lungs era. She might typically belt it more, but jet-lag as another person said. Acoustic etherealness is what Florence is known for, biiiiig vibrato filled vocals and gorgeous falsetto moments sprinkled about.
