i had pretty much the same reaction as you listening to this song the first time, feeling unwanted and ignored is one of the worst feelings in the world and citizen soldier really managed to capture those feelings in this track. definitely one of my favourites by them

The part that hit me hardest in this song was when he sang about the reasons people leave. My ex told me he hoped I died before he cut me completely out of his life. It was one of the last things he said to me. It broke me completely. He likes Citizen Soldier and is the reason that I fell in love with their music, so it is a bit bittersweet for me. Your reaction was basically the same as mine the first time I heard this song.
If your ex said something like this to you, let me tell you he doesn't deserve Citizen Soldier and it's not a fan. CS don't stand with abusers. Fuck him!
