This is amazing! I've gotten to the point of "mostly" being able to finger my way up and down the scale... And was wondering how to find my way towards actual songs... Other than using a book of songs and memorizing phrases, then playing them as I feel led. This was soooo helpful!
This has become my favorite improv technique and I love doing it with backing tracks. As a very new novice, this and your other videos have been both inspiring and very helpful.
As ALWAYS...great info ...NOT ONLY for Novices But also for more seasoned players who MAY feel they are in a RUT! Revisiting this excellent technique is wonderful. Thanks, Clint!
Hi Clint, these videos are so great and helpful. Really glad I found them. Got my Native American flute just this week and now I want to play it everyday!
I'm new and this is exactly where I am and what I need. This is so helpful to allow me to move on with my playing. Exciting to have this technique to give me more confidence. Thanks!
Hi Clint, Really good to go back to the scale song - Had forgotten how many variations are possible on just one note. I can't say thank you enough for your flute casts! I hear Encino went really well! John
Thanks, Clint. I love the sound of the NA Flute, but I am learning to play it as a way of finding the freedom to improvise on trumpet. The natural limits of the NA flute make it easier to succeed in improv and that gives me confidence to try something new on trumpet. On NA flute, I find myself readily embellishing the scale as you have shown in the scale song. Then discovering "licks" that I like and using them in future improvised songs. Please keep you training videos coming. They are inspiring and full of content! Looking for an opportunity to join you at a workshop in 2017. Thanks again.
Thanks for your kind words, Betty! We do have 20 FluteCast videos out now ... you should be able to access the FluteCast playlist and cycle through all of them ... Native flute and trumpet?? That would be an interesting duet combination!!
Can you recommend where I can purchase a Native American Flute; I am a beginner. I have emailed and called a few but they don't return emails or phone calls. Thank you.
I really wish you did some NAF circles in UK. So little happening on NAF flute here. It will be so nice to find someone to practice with in UK.
Thanks for making these great flute cast!

I have no problem improvising, still this us a really useful idea for working on techniques. Thx again!
Thank Ron - this is really useful for novices progressing beyond just playing the basic scale ... seems to work well for a lot of folks.
So perfect for us beginners. Could you possibly mention what key flute you are using? Thanks for sharing your talent and skills 🖖
The flute is an F minor (not F# minor) flute in the style of Taos Pueblo flutes by Russ Wolf.
have you got a schedule of events for 2019? thanks
Our schedule is at www.clintgoss.com/calendar.html - hope you can join us at a workshop!
what key are you playing in?
