I love annes power up scream, it is a very convincing panic shout. You know though for a game that devoted quite a bit of data to some areas like audio, it makes heavy use of frozen people in the backdrop that would in other games be animated.

I was playing Power Instict 2 in the Japanese version in a arcade in an eastern Ligurian country in Italy, just with Annie but I was the only one to finish it and I had the audience behind it. I would advise you to do some more combos and to vary your style a bit. Anyway congratulations the same for the game.
The Power Stinct series was really akward - and I could never shake the impression that many of its characters used models copied from other games. Still, it was a fun game with its weird characters and fast gameplay. There's a particular charm to it. Oume Gogetuji was a huge pain, thought. She was clearly unbalanced briging an irritating difficulty spike right in the beggining of the main game. Her sister as the final boss had SNK bosa sindrome: pratically a bullet hell boss.
I only have this on PS1 (really, it's only home port), sadly that port is incredibly cut down, but it is still quite playable, despite the load times between fights, and when characters do any transformations they possess.
I like the humorous things in the game (animations, hits, music...), it reminds me of the fighting Ranma games on Super Famicom. Does Matrimelee maintain the humor?
Although less than this series, but i'd say other rival companies had a nice energy and sense of humor, reflected in their games in the 90s. Those companies were different than their current forms. A good example is Capcom's Pocket Fighter, something i cant imagine being revived in any form nowdays. Even the humor in Darkstalkers. But the fg ecosystem now looks much more serious than back then (not in an exactly positive way). The good energy of the old Capcom devs is lost forever. Same for the old Snk, even for the old Namco.

Well it's a parody of fighting games in general so you could expect some characters that look similar. And yes otane is a pain in the ass.
