    But in last term (v.d3w/dx3) over a to b is in 3rd order

      Yes I noticed the same thing. I guess you can only reduce the differentiability of the residual by one. But there is still a benefit in balancing the differentiability of the residual and the weighting function IN THE INTEGRAL, because this is what leads to a symmetric matrix (more on this in later lectures).

      Its value will depend only on boundary as there are limits on it which i think we would be given as BVP

      The third derivative will be the shear force, which would be given as a BC
