  • B-Roll footage of the major ice jam on the Mississippi River on the north side of the Twin Cities metro area. The first part of the video was shot in Champlin, MN at Mississippi Point Park and the second part of the video was shot in Brooklyn Center, MN at the Coon Rapids Dam in the Mississippi Gateway Regional Park.
    Footage show the huge area of ice backed up from the dam for several miles to highway 169 in Champlin. Various B-Roll shots tripoded and free hand of the flooding and ice covered flooded areas.
    The main concern now is how high the water is and what will this weeks back to back storms due to the river levels.

      Really there's no way to get a boat that big to break the ice

    Nostalgic. I'm from Minnesota, and I know Champlin very well. It's been almost 38 years, but these images really brought me back. Go Gophers!! Ha.
