I've rewatches a lot of Bud's fights over the last week and something stood out to me: they all look the same. No matter the fighter, the style, the weight class. There always comes a point where he asserts himself and he DOMINATES them from that point on. BUT not only that, he makes guys so hesitant in there, even pressure fighters get apprehensive against him after a while. Spence kept coming forward but there were moments where he hesitated in front of Crawford, didn't want to initiate, or he wrapped up when he finally got to the inside. Just very un-Spence like, but I encourage any Spence fan to look at Crawfords welterweight fights and tell me that the other guys didn't look the same after a few rounds with Crawford. Outside of Porter who at least was. Competitive throughout (Bud had won 4 of the previous 5 before the stoppage), I mean just about all of them have the same pattern, and everyone gets shell-shocked when they're in there with him.
It's the sign of a true ring general. The second half of most Mayweather fights look similar. The second half of most Ali fights look similar. The second half of most Usyk fights look similar. Etc...

Easy another 20-30 mil each.. I can only imagine how much they gotta pay in taxes in 2023.. Happy for them financially but Spence' damage is life altering.. If Spence would've hurt Crawford once, Crawford would've knocked him out even worse.. You can tell a great boxer by how he boxes after he gets hurt. Every time Crawford gets hurt, he knocks his opponents out the same round. Especially in welter

I think he was giving Spence a chance to get himself together in the late rounds probably wanting to give the fans a little more but it just wasnt his night so Bud was like alright let me end this you've had enough lol
The absolute best masterclass in boxing I've ever seen. Never forget- the first social media post from Spence after his DWI crash of his Ferrari at 2:53 AM in Dallas, Texas was, "No Broken Bones, I'm a Savage!". A man vs. a boy inside and outside of the ring is what we have with Crawford and Spence respectively. Shine on, Bud, SHINE ON!
I've never seen Bud off balance. He could hold a glass of wine on top of his head without spilling a drop. He's like Sugar-free Ray Leonard 😂. Very rare talent.
Spence was not himself. It is like he aged overnight. I never saw him this slow. Spence is the type of fighter where he leads with his jab and back out in a split second. He reflexes were gone from Round 1. I am not sure what happened to him. worse he may never get a chance at rematch.
That knockdown in the second round was thought to be a flash knockdown watching it live. After seeing the replay a few times, Bud didn't catch his chin, he got him in the neck/ear area which I assume knocked his equilibrium off which is why he looked off balance the rest of the fight. Great shot by Bud. It was much more damaging than I thought it looked watching live.
This is what I thought and caught live. I find it hard to believe that Crawford is THAT much better than Spence. The Spence after round 2 did not look like the same Spence in the last few fights.
@@Adonis_Does_it_All bud is just that much better than Spence. Spence is a great fundamental fighter with power. That doesn’t work against guys with a whole bag of tricks who are also fundamentally sound with power. Spence still has somewhat of an amateur style, many pros keep that style and it’s served him well but Crawford is just different.
@@raw5889 Crawford never made another big name boxer look as mediocre as Errol did. That is why it is hard for me to believe he is that much better. Talking levels, he looked like a 10, Errol looked like a 2 at best. Crawford has never made anyone with a name look like that. It's hard to believe Errol is a 2 who made it as far as he did. Is it possible, sure. Is it also possible that Errol was off and not himself, yes. The latter is just more feasible to me. I'll get a clearer answer if they run it back.
I was rooting for Spence, and the second round got me insanely hyped thinking this would go like the Fury v Wilder 3 fight. Little did I know it was going to be more like Wilder v Fury 2.
People who didn’t see Crawford’s adaptability and IQ clearly haven’t watched many of his fights. I think Crawford was the clear winner from the jump tbh the hype really got everyone second guessing.
Yeah. Kavaliaskas was the only one who gave him trouble of all the fights. He was able to counter Bud's technique and was dominating him with his Box And the Crawford adapted: He stopped boxing and went for a brawl, all Agressive, and broke Kavaliaskas.
I'm so happy this recap was done in still shots instead of video highlights. One, the analysis is so much clearer and in a format that makes it easier to attempt to put in practice. Two- although I had Bud stopping Spence in 10, I love Spence and don't ever want to see that asswhupping again if I can help it.
What we were told is that we were getting a number one fighter against another number one fighter, when that could never have been the case. What we had all along was actually a number one fighter vs. a number two fighter, and sometimes, there's still quite a big gap between one & two, lol!
We all knew that Bud was the more skilled boxer but that gap isn't that wide. Not like it was fight night. This version of Bud is unbeatable but Spence at his absolute peak could be described as such. I'm just hoping that it was an off night for Spence but damn that one hurt.
Easiest money I've ever made betting fights. I knew Floyd would beat Manny, but I still was nervous. I couldn't understand why people doubted Bud after watching he and Spence's common fights. The Brooks fight for both of them gave me an Idea of what the fighters could do to each other. I'm from Louisiana and my family is scattered between there and Texas. All of my brothers were pulling for Spence, but I was the only one willing to put my money up. They said "you gonna lose your cash.". Fast forwards to post fight, and I got a profit of $4000 while they scramble to use a car accident to justify Spence's underwhelming performance. All I say is watch a fighter on defense and you'll know how good he really is.
The car crash is the main reason why spence couldn’t keep his balance, no lateral movement, lack of concentration I.E when his mouth piece flew out against Ugas he decided to go looking for it mid fight. I still believe Crawford could beat a 100% spence but it would be more competitive. What we got was 50% spence. He has neurological damage which has been explained in depth by a neuro scientist on BDA Boxing channel, I’d check it out for yourself. Heartbreaking for Spence, he needs to retire 😢
@@pudgebutchet3480 he looked pretty good in those fights but he did have moments of serious concentration lapse which when aligned with his speech changes and the glossy eyes, indicates brain trauma as explained by a neurologist. And yes he smokes weed but he’s not high when he’s fighting a world championship title fight so how do you explain the glossy eyes in this instance? Other than it being a typical symptom of a brain disorder? Just imagine being thrown out of a vehicle at roughly 100mph and not only surviving it but it having zero impact on someone’s professional career in a brutal sport at the very highest level? Does that sound realistic to you??
@@pudgebutchet3480Straight up. If it was Errol that dominated nobody would’ve said shit about no damn crash. Whatever helps these clowns sleep. Guess his brain only decided to be damaged against Bud 😂😂😂
Crawford showed incredible discipline in that fight...where Spence got caught reaching and pushing Bud was calm and calculating...Crawford also showed how you can grow into a division while Errol showed the effects of fighting your body to stay at a weight you've grown out of
Anyone old enough to remember Sanchez vs Wilfredo Gomez in 1981? Gomez was undefeated with 100% KO rate, Sanchez was the technical boxer with cardio for days. Sanchez caught Gomez in the 1st round and floored him, he got up and lasted till the 8th when he was brutally finished. He later said he was caught with a counter he didn't see and wasn't able to ever fully recover. That's exactly what happened here.
I was rooting for Bud as I believe he’s the best fighter of this era, but seeing Spence take that thrashing was sad. I really hope this doesn’t change him as a fighter!
I feel the exact same way! Watching it live, it was great but upon reflection it feels a lot more bittersweet. Crawford’s my guy but I really like Spence as a fighter and as a person. I wanted it to be competitive than Bud wins by stoppage in the later rounds. Only got half of that and not the half I was expecting
After thinking about his fight, it slightly reminds me of Usyk Vs AJ. Many kind of had it 50/50 w/ debating the size and aggression of one guy Vs the skills, timing and movement of the smaller guy(although we knew AJs flaws before the fight unlike Spence’s). But once Usyk/Bud could time AJ/Spence aggression against them. They could see everything coming and began to break down their opponent piece by piece. One guy understood everything about distance and the other one had no idea about it. Usyk kept landing looping left crosses at will while Bud landed a more of a pull back straight left cross. And both Spence/AJ couldn’t even figure out what they were doing wrong.
Spence was good. The problem is that 'good' wasn't going to stop one of the single greatest sports performances I've ever seen. Crawford was as near to perfection as it gets. Pick every possible attribute and Crawford was amazing at all of them. Yes, I thought Spence was still in this 3 rounds in. Despite being dropped (which was a bit more awkward) but it was in round 3 where it looked to me like Spence got JARRED hard several time and simply could not get back to 100% and then the same in round 4 where hard jarring jabs were stunning him down more and he wasn't recovering. The doctor exam made sense when you see it. Spence wasn't "wobbly hurt" but did NOT look like he was recouping which is very concerning. In a way, huge admiration Spence kept going but he was somehow jarred even by 3 and 4 where he was just not recovering. All of which might be where Spence still guts out a 'rocky' style grind and fight win except... ... that night Crawford was absolutely GOLDEN. I had 'flashbacks' to Sugar Ray Leonard (and his namesake, Robinson) with an absolutely flawless, shockingly superb performance.
I kind of saw this coming. First of all, when you compared Spence's performance against Porter to Crawford's, you could see that Spence had quite some trouble. Also, when it came to their social media, all you would see from Crawford is a whole lot of focus, whereas with Spence, you'd see some other unrelated stuff to boxing.
@@Thor-Orion You can have a life outside of boxing and still be focused, but you wont' be more focused than the guy who put more of his focus into boxing. Watching the lead up to this fight, Spence had way more going on.
I think your reasoning for why Crawford defeated Spence so handily is flawed. Spence showed he was not as fundamentally sound as previously thought. Everytime he threw the body jab he would drop his rear hand and keep his head on the centerline, exposing himself to Bud's prolific 2-1 counter. Compare Spence's body jab to Inoue's in the Fulton fight and the flaws become readily apparent. Boxing Gems and Hidden Gem both did a great job of breaking down the Spence/Bud fight and the Inoue/Fulton. As always, great video on your part as well.
This hurt my heart that night but I notice something. Errol looked high on that fight night and for some reason, his reflex weren’t there at all. Not making excuses, these are facts but props to bud man.
When I said this would happen. Folks called me crazy. Lmao when I asked “what does Spence do other than pressure and use his strength? “ NO ONE HAD AN ANSWER. Bro if the jab (the first punch you’re taught) is your best weapon you’re in trouble idc.
This is what happens when your career was based on 40% skill & 60% being a weight bully. I've always said that most of his wins were based on his size. Errol has NO place in the welterweight division whatsoever. I'm glad a much smaller man beat the piss out of him. We'll see how good Errol actually is when he fights in the divisions he should be fighting in.
Spence is one-dimensional pressure fighter with an impressive work rate, but he is not a counterpuncher and his ring IQ is no where near Crawford's. Crawford also hits harder and is quicker and knows when and where to create spaces on the inside (which plays into his superior IQ). All in all, their contrasting styles led to what we saw on fight night- a lopsided match. No rematch needed.
Because Terence Crawford is more discipline, and he's a perfect switch stance fighter. He's just a better boxer overall. He definitely had more of a hunger going for him as well due to his being underestimated for so many years, and being where he comes from. He's carrying a whole city! He's like the Freddie Gibbs of boxing.
The creativity of a switch hitter like bud is just I can’t even comprehend fighting something like that… it’s crazy n he hurts his punches are all clean and to hurt
Because of Buds wrestling background he had the leverage to push Spence around. That jab was like a straight right. Crawford's defence was superb as he parried Spence all night.
Crawford was smarter, hit harder, and was faster. I knew that coming in bc I’m a huge Bud fan but I thought errol would be close enough in those departments to make it a dogfight. Crawford just totally outclassed him though
I picked Crawford but I'm surprised how it played out, I thought it's gonna be competitive in the early to mid rounds and then crawford will take over in the later rounds but I feel like something wrong with spence.
one of the first things a good coach tells you not to do against a great counterpuncher is to throw the same punch in the same way too many times. Errol and Derrick didn’t seem to understand that
The only reason I was torn between the two was cause Spence is from Texas like me but I was def leaning more towards Crawford cause of his switch hitter style/boxing iq I also thought it would be waaay closer. Like if one or the other (in this case Spence) were to lose, it wouldn’t have been so one sided
This is exactly what l said, the Errol's style was just a gift to Terry. I said it wouldn't be close, and that Errol would have a punchers chance at best..
Errol Spence Jr. failed to adjust and I don’t know why people think it would be a close fight when Crawford has 11 more fight which is huge in experience
As soon as they began talking seriously about this fight happening i knew Bud would take it. He finally got his big shot and was not about to let it go. What a fighter he is, he dominated the whole fight while looking like he was going 50% lol.
Honestly, part of what makes a result like this seem so shocking is the limited dataset on most fighters this era. Who was each guy’s best win beforehand? Porter probably.
Because one fighter was a hype job and the other is the real deal. One fighter didn’t live a fighters lifestyle and the other does by keeping his body in fight ready shape. One is a product and the other is a student of the sweet science. One has a trainer that doesn’t know how to train but one way, the other has multiple trainers whom help train their fighter to close gaps in the fighters boxing ability. Real fight fans seen this coming and fans of a fighter got a wake up call, that they didn’t know shit about boxing.
This fight infuriates me because after watching this, I really think Pacquiao could've beaten Spence had they actually fought. I was tired of the narrative that since Pac lost to Ugas, and Spence beat Ugas, that Spence would've handily beaten Pac. I think Pac would've overwhelmed Spence with odd angles. Pacquiao vs Crawford PLEASE. I think Pacquiao still got what it takes to make it competitive. It would be great.
Never been more wrong about a boxing match outcome. Never. Big props to Crawford. I was not a hater but I thought for sure Spence would outwork Crawford. Crawford proved to me and everybody he's the man at 147.
Skills pay the bills. Errol was flat footed and thought he could just bulldoze Bud. Bud’s overall boxing skills was overlooked by Spence in my opinion. No need for a rematch
As a Crawford fan i was deeply worried that Spence would take his 0. Fast forward and now I'm disappointed i doubted him and didn't bet the house on him.

Outside of Porter who at least was. Competitive throughout (Bud had won 4 of the previous 5 before the stoppage), I mean just about all of them have the same pattern, and everyone gets shell-shocked when they're in there with him.
I think I'll do the same and watch all his fights as well. Masterclass performance.
I did the same and I completely agree with your analysis! On point
It's the sign of a true ring general.
The second half of most Mayweather fights look similar. The second half of most Ali fights look similar. The second half of most Usyk fights look similar. Etc...
yes, i agree. i can only have respect for porter because of every bud has fought only porter made his prescence respected by bud (although it was futile in the end).
That's why Bud is known as a late gamer.
I love both of them so I didn’t care about who won. I just wanted a good fight but damn..Spence got mopped😮💨
Yea I was there live, kinda a letdown even though I knew Bud would win. It happens though thats boxing!
He either met da hall monitor or da janitor and it was a slip n slide dat had a twist nawmsayin it was a loop de loop fr ong it was not bussin for Spence dat nite and das da troof
i always knew crawford was gonna win and even won like 700$ off this fight ,but seeing errol spence lose like that hurt me and lowkey almost made me cry:(
I was in complete disbelief, I expected Crawford to win, but what a beat down
Been waiting on this video 🙏🏾
Nothing wrong with a great boxer losing to a great boxer
Rdc taught me once a nigga has black air forces, and no cut, he a dangerous man. Crawford had both
this a fire channel, learning a lot
As great as Spence is, hes too robotic and not diverse enough. Then include all the out of the ring mess he had going on. Thats why many Bud fans were so confident he would win. There was no way Spence could win unless he was really that damn great. Im good on a rematch but wouldnt mind just to show that Spence wont beat him at a higher weight and while hes active. Plus more easy money lol
When porter said that and when kell brooke insinuated that they attacked him
Easy another 20-30 mil each..
@@theindivisible Crawford was literally holding back some punches, not letting his hands go also was checking if Spence was right in round 7.
@@theindivisible Yea I hope hes ok crazy he got beat so bad and Bud was on cruise control.

@@Adonis_Does_it_Allas bomac said after the first round "your faster than him Terrance" there's just levels to this that's all.
@@Blastmo My response to you is the same to @Raw5889 if you care to see it.
"Quicker and slicker" is the phrase I used for Terence Crawford before the fight.
love this dudes analysis
I was rooting for Spence, and the second round got me insanely hyped thinking this would go like the Fury v Wilder 3 fight.
Little did I know it was going to be more like Wilder v Fury 2.
It’s crazy because Crawford is a natural orthodox fighter
People who didn’t see Crawford’s adaptability and IQ clearly haven’t watched many of his fights. I think Crawford was the clear winner from the jump tbh the hype really got everyone second guessing.
Yeah. Kavaliaskas was the only one who gave him trouble of all the fights. He was able to counter Bud's technique and was dominating him with his Box
And the Crawford adapted: He stopped boxing and went for a brawl, all Agressive, and broke Kavaliaskas.
Great breakdown
Great unbiased breakdown. A tank got disabled by a fighter jet.
Accurate assessment. Peace!
As a Spence fan this hurt to watch but luckily it’s been a week
@@tomtom258is spence hass all problem when he fought danny and ugas?
FOH 😂
@@tomtom258go rewatch the Mikey vs Spence fight, he looked trash there too
@@pudgebutchet3480 he looked pretty good in those fights but he did have moments of serious concentration lapse which when aligned with his speech changes and the glossy eyes, indicates brain trauma as explained by a neurologist. And yes he smokes weed but he’s not high when he’s fighting a world championship title fight so how do you explain the glossy eyes in
this instance? Other than it being a typical symptom of a brain disorder? Just imagine being thrown out of a vehicle at roughly 100mph and not only surviving it but it having zero impact on someone’s professional career in a brutal sport at the very highest level? Does that sound realistic to you??
@@pudgebutchet3480Straight up. If it was Errol that dominated nobody would’ve said shit about no damn crash. Whatever helps these clowns sleep. Guess his brain only decided to be damaged against Bud 😂😂😂
Crawford showed incredible discipline in that fight...where Spence got caught reaching and pushing Bud was calm and calculating...Crawford also showed how you can grow into a division while Errol showed the effects of fighting your body to stay at a weight you've grown out of
Bud ring iq is crazy to setup the 2-1 knockdown so early in the fight is outstanding
6:02 "highest form of boxing imaginable" sound like hyperbole, but I saw it with both eyes; astounding.
Damn i'm early early
same
I was rooting for Bud as I believe he’s the best fighter of this era, but seeing Spence take that thrashing was sad.
Nah he toasty af u seen his accident and he faded fr he ain't bussin no more
After thinking about his fight, it slightly reminds me of Usyk Vs AJ.
The best analysis ever… literally
Pravda. Great point.
I think the main thing I saw with Errol was that he lunged in WAY too much when jabbing
very good analysis of the fight tbh. can you do a video on the analysis of the fall of the heavyweight division
Bud had 11 stoppages prior to the Spence fight. Idk why everyone underestimated Crawford
Bud is p4p king. A true champion.Full respect for ESJ who definitely took it like a man. Unlike some of his fans.
I don't think anyone is surprised Bud won. It was how dominant his win was AND how physically bad Spence looked.
Come on man, guys can have lived outside of boxing and still be focused. In this case you’re probably right.
@@Thor-Orion You can have a life outside of boxing and still be focused, but you wont' be more focused than the guy who put more of his focus into boxing. Watching the lead up to this fight, Spence had way more going on.
Crawford was able to know when to exploit Spences openings when he threw throws that looping hook
Crawford is taking all the belts at 154 as well. I dont see anybody beating that man. Give that man his flowers. 🥊
Do you plan on making another inoue video?
This hurt my heart that night but I notice something. Errol looked high on that fight night and for some reason, his reflex weren’t there at all. Not making excuses, these are facts but props to bud man.
Tbf Crawford had fought for Undisputed before that fight and Spence was definitely feeling that pressure
2 great, dominating fights: Inouye and Crawford. Unbelievable.
The creativity of a switch hitter like bud is just I can’t even comprehend fighting something like that… it’s crazy n he hurts his punches are all clean and to hurt
I think the main factor was Crawford drank prime and Spence drank Gatorade
If there was ever a boxing match to study and take notes from, this is it. Especially for south paws.
I picked Crawford but I'm surprised how it played out, I thought it's gonna be competitive in the early to mid rounds and then crawford will take over in the later rounds
but I feel like something wrong with spence.
He walked out with Em, that’s why.
With that song playing, motivation at an all time high, no way you can lose after that 😂
Hated to see Errol lose like that but I believe he will come back better than ever. He's a true warrior.
one of the first things a good coach tells you not to do against a great counterpuncher is to throw the same punch in the same way too many times. Errol and Derrick didn’t seem to understand that
The only reason I was torn between the two was cause Spence is from Texas like me but I was def leaning more towards Crawford cause of his switch hitter style/boxing iq
I also thought it would be waaay closer.
I told people a long time ago Bud wins and its not close. My reciepts are in my post history.
Its all about skills
Terence neutralized the main 2 things spence good at. Physicality and jab
I totale agree with your conclusion, thought that too that Errols style is actually taylor made for Craword and with that how predictable it was
TJ can you have a look at the Strickland vs adesanya fight
BUD IS TOO GOOD
I knew this was gonna happen I been saying it for 4 years
As soon as they began talking seriously about this fight happening i knew Bud would take it. He finally got his big shot and was not about to let it go.
What a fighter he is, he dominated the whole fight while looking like he was going 50% lol.
What I found so crazy was how effortlessly Bud negated Spence’s jab !
Charlo vs Crawford 2024
Honestly, part of what makes a result like this seem so shocking is the limited dataset on most fighters this era. Who was each guy’s best win beforehand? Porter probably.
do one for Naoya Inoue why he is P4P #1
Errol not adjusting was a big problem that imo, cost him the fight. Also, crawford superior technical abilities.
Wow 😱 Bud
First
Because one fighter was a hype job and the other is the real deal.
Spence went in fighting for the money and not the win no self confident what so ever, man too good.
congrats to Geoff Neal for such a masterful performance
😂
This fight infuriates me because after watching this, I really think Pacquiao could've beaten Spence had they actually fought. I was tired of the narrative that since Pac lost to Ugas, and Spence beat Ugas, that Spence would've handily beaten Pac. I think Pac would've overwhelmed Spence with odd angles.
Pacquiao vs Crawford PLEASE. I think Pacquiao still got what it takes to make it competitive. It would be great.
pacquiao wouldve gotten stopped late as well
@@tolulopeagboola640 Probably, but he would've had a much more interesting fight against Crawford than Spence did. Pac would've had way more success.
No need for a rematch
make another video of naoya
See my point exactly
As a Crawford fan i was deeply worried that Spence would take his 0. Fast forward and now I'm disappointed i doubted him and didn't bet the house on him.
Any loved one who allows Spence to fight in December is only thinking $$$. That was a vicious beating. Terence was landing everything. Errol took some hard heads shots all night.
Like Marquez to Pacman there's always a kryptonite to somebody.. Crawford was to Spence unfortunately..
