Single vs. Dual Office Chair Wheels

The theory is to get some upgrade wheels so you no longer have to use a carpet pad for your office chair. Then you can roll around with those plastic carpet mats that cracks all the time. Question is if they will work well on medium pile carpet? How about tile or hard wood flooring? Turns out the hight of the wheels matters just as much so that the center post doesn't drag on the floor or carpet.

I already have the single wheel one. Bought for the higher profile for carpet. Not only that if I move I don’t want to scratch the hardwood to shit.

TLDR: 1 wheel makes you move more free. 2 wheel has a bit more resistance but is also bit louder and lower to ground. Will go for 2 wheel.

I didn't use them both over a long time since the dual wheel was too low to the ground for my chair. I use the single wheel one now.

​​I got the single wheels a few years ago. Saw the double wheel version recently, thought it was an upgrade to the singles. Thanks for your review exact same chair, guess there's no need to get the double. The increased resistance sounds great but the profile becomes way to low. @@BeatTheBushDIY
