My garden is put to bed (under layer of straw) for winter. Only overwinter herbs and garlic left in the soil.

Those green tomatoes that you were throwing into the buckets can be ripened. You can put them into a cardboard box and in a warm place and they will turn red over time. It is a good way to keep getting tomatoes after the fall/winter months hit.

You can make green tomato pie out of those last green ones. I make the pies up and freeze them raw. They are so yummy in winter.

I would love to see a video of y'all planting your garlic and info on that! I've never grown garlic but would really like to! If it's not too late, I'd still like to get some in the ground but I'm not sure what good guidelines are for placement (ie. what's they best spot for it, how much or little sun, what plants they pair well with, like can I plant it somewhere now and then in the spring plant something around it, how deep, do you have to cover it, can you just get bulb garlic from the grocery and break up the cloves or what). Love your channel!

We moved from Detroit to southwest Georgia. I was just wondering what part of Michigan you are in.

Why did you pull it up? I normally just cut & lay it down where it grew over winter. It breaka down & feeds the soil. Most of it will break down.
