i just love that kind of movies with fall/winter vibes, cardigans, old beautiful houses, really good lead ators like both of them, and there to be drama/romance/comedy...perfect to watch
@@itsdatanotdata The Ice Storm was on my top 10 movies for many years. It was a very intriguing and thought provoking film of relationships. That she and Kevin Klein also did the comedy "Dave" shows their love of both drama and comedy. Haven't seen her in much recently, she definitely had the money to just sit back but I wonder if there were other reasons that share her career stopped so suddenly. This will definitely be on my list to see!
I agree! Sometimes her ability and talent seem to be overlooked bc of other powerhouse actresses of her generation: Glenn Close, Meryl Streep, Kathy Bates. But Sigourney Weaver has portrayed many different kinds of characters in a variety of movie genres and I think she's always been so good and believable!
I want to watch this but at the same time it will hurt to watch. Weaver looks kind of like my mom and my mom always had a crush on Kline so it will be like seeing my mom again. She died 5 years ago. We used to watch movies all the time together. I am sure this one would have been on our watch list.
My kids watch a movie now and my expression ten years ago: Kissing can be nice. Rings in their memory ears. Why writing this? Enjoy the memories while watching.
It showed up on your feed for a reason luv!!! Your mom deserves to be remembered in the best ways and as much as possible. I’m not just a crazy person on the internet, I also lost my mom recently(1/25/22) so I understand completely where you’re coming from. God Bless you!!!
There are a lot of movies for so-called "grown ups" nowadays coz the Baby Boomer generation is huge and wealthy, and movies provide endless opportunities for product placement targeted at rich, old, white women -- like Weaver's character in this movie. They sip their wine and smoke their pot and imagine that they can find whatever it is that passes for love among the aged feminists of a by now bygone era.
@@Nunya22Too Hmm.. you sure about that? All I see is super hero/action/teen movies for days in all directions. I'm shocked this is even going to theatres.
From Alien (1979) to The Year of Living Dangerously (1982), Ghostbusters (1984) to two in 1988: Gorillas in the Mist and Working Girl through '97's The Ice Storm and '04's The Village (just citing my own personal faves) ~ Sigourney is a versatile actress and still going strong. She may not have won an Academy Award but I think she won a BAFTA once.
She's only been nominated three times, twice the same year. I'm surprised she didn't win for Working Girl, since that was the year she was nominated for two roles (and the other, for Gorillas in the Mist, was along shot).
Thank you! I thought it sounded like a book I read! I remember the book being a bit darker though, not so much romantic comedy, though it's possible the main character's gruffness made it seem more serious? Still really enjoyed it though, especially the end. 😊
nice to see the legends given chance to prove they still make it in the big time the Sigourney Weaver, Kevin kline one thing for these women who are playing her on-screen daughters will be overwelled and also other too actors too both actors
sigourney weaver is one of the greatest actors ever. she is incapable of a mediocre or bad performance. she's wonderful in everything and the fact that she was nominated for best actress and supporting actress in '88 and didnt win is a fkn travesty
Normally I’m not interested in these kinds of movies for two reasons. They kind of all seem to be made by the same person. And they always seem to star Diane Keaton. However, I think I might see this one because a role that typically goes to Diane Keaton has gone to Sigourney Weaver. She has always intrigued me as an actress and she never treats any role like it’s the one that came before it. And she just has one of those captivating voices. She, Morgan Freeman, and Donald Sutherland have always seemed to have the gift of voice to me. (That would be speaking not singing obviously).
This looks amazing. It kind of reminds me of the storyline of the mom from Transparent, where her kids are very selfish and she's trying so hard to find happiness for herself, but they are super critical of every choice she makes.
Nice to see Kevin Kline is still going strong. For some reason I always think of him as the dad in Beethoven even though I know that was Charles Grodin 😏

texture, baby. texture ;-)
Yep. Agree. And that the lead actors don't have to be 25! Love seeing actors over 40, over 50!
Can't wait to see it!
Love this. It is ok to grow old and not crawl under a rock because of it. Society needs to understand this.
The key is to grow old but take care of yourself so you can look great n b strong...not old n frumpy
Ya, and society needs to stop already with the old jokes. Biden takes so much sh*t for being old and that man goes all day long.
@@mariyamwaniki Thank you
I agree 100%. I wish the makeup and skincare industry would use older women more.
@@mariyamwaniki Ya I wonder how many drugs he is on to do that.
I think this is the first time they've been in a movie together since Dave 30 years ago! Love it!
That was a great film but they were together in ' Ice Storm' that came out in 1997.
I adore the movie Dave! It is not easy to find.

Honestly I just wish Kevin Kline comes back and does movies like Wild Wild West… we need weird garbage movies like that
I just love Sigourney Weaver! It’s about time she’s back in the limelight 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

I ❤️ that humorous cynical character from (beloved and talented) Sigourney Weaver!! Can't wait to see it!!

So sorry for your loss.
Fearreavers- it’s time to celebrate your Mom. If she crushed on Kevin Kline then she’d want you to see the movie in her honor.
♥️
Love these kinds of slow, feel good movies. Sigourney is ageless and awesome.
Ok once again Sigourney Weaver is in another hit. She and I are the same age. She's just wonderful.
I'm 32 and I'm in love with her.
Finally, a movie for grown ups. Looking forward to this.

My two favorites together, take my money!
Two of my favorite actors!
It's interesting when you're old enough to find a movie appealing because it stars two familiar actors whom you like.
This reminds me of "The Upside of Anger" with Joan Allen and Kevin Costner. Grown folks movie. Loving it.
My heroine beautiful Sigourney Weaver, she is always great. Kevin Kline is a fantastic actor. Looking forward to this.
OMG how fun seeing these two actors paired as a couple. Love it.
Uh, the 1993 film "Dave".
We all remember that. Yes?
@@stevechance150 omg I forgot! Granted I only saw it once but still. lol Thanks!
looks so cute and down to earth yes yes yes we need more of this; no more young boring pretty couples with expected plots
Pretty? Sigourney is drop dead gorgeous.
Well sometimes lol
Weaver has aged like a fine wine.
1000 agreed
Sigourney Weaver can do no wrong and its great to Kline back.
Sigourney Weaver and Kevin Kline are so relatable.
Sigourney Weaver AND Kevin Kline....sold. I'll watch. Happily.
I love Kevin Kline and sigourney together❤
I loved Sigourney in Copycat and Kevin Kline in Life as a House....such phenomenal actors with so many great roles
It's like a great, old school J-Crew commercial. Love the sweaters, cars, weather.
yes, a proper movie...just like how things used to be in the 90's; civilized!!
I think Sigourney Weaver is actually looking more beautiful now than 40 years ago !! Plus she's cool
2 great actors...but how has she NOT won an Academy Award. That was shocking.

Sigourney Weaver and Kevin Kline...a Dave reunion! 😊 Sign me up!
I'm gonna watch this just for Kevin Kline. Great to see him in a movie again.
Ok, is it me or does Kevin Kline simply get better like THE BEST wine EVER!!!🥰🥰🥰😍😍😍💖💖💖💖👍 Sigourney ain't bad either 😘💝💋🇦🇺

Plot twist when at the dinner scene, an alien bursts out of Kevin Kline's chest
How nice to see them act, with people, not some fake CG special effects.
Finally. The 'Dave' Extended Universe is here.
They look good together, again. just watched "Dave" love that movie
Yaaaay!!! Kevin Kline!!

Yeah, Kevin Kline, underrated kind man gets big part, with other hero. Yeah Siggy.

Yes please!
Omg Kevin and Sigourney together again how cool 👍👍👍👍

Sigourney Weaver looks royal
Honestly i think Sigourney Weaver is beautiful. And she is very tall. That's a bonus.
Love story about old people. Likely will have an audience. Since the # of people past 55 is getting bigger all the time.

Kevin Kline! Man, he makes too few movies, these days. Why?
“Is that Signorey Weaver? She shouldn’t be smoking, she’s a handsome fella.”
