I have been subscribed to your channel for a while mow, and the one fact I can't get over is how "cinematic" your videos feel. Your editing and videos feel like I am watching a movie about the places you visit. I watch a lot of off road channels and I don't think ANY of them have the feel of your videos. Keep up the great work and stay EPIC!

TJs are my favorite of all the Wranglers (possible exception would be an old school Scrambler... but that's not technically a Wrangler, so probably doesn't count).
Anyway... I think the TJ takes the cake. First gen of the coil springs on all four corners, they're super easy to work on, parts and aftermarket upgrades are plentiful and cheap. It doesn't take much to build an incredibly good off-roader for super cheap. A 3" to 6" lift, lockers, and 33" to 35" M/T tires, and you're good to go over most anything out there. No, it's not going to be competing against purpose-built crazy expensive rock crawling rear-steer buggies, but it'll be a daily driver you can wheel in all but the most extreme of what mother nature has to offer up!

I have to wait till I finish my truck build but I would love the opportunity to go wheeling with you guys. Your adventures are exactly what I had in mind when planning my build.
Just a quick description of my build, 93 Chevy Silverado single cab short box, F350 solid axle swap (e locker rear) WFO conversion kit, which translates into a 7" lift on 37's, LS+ swap. I consider it to be kind of a baseline until the build grows but I promise it will be quite capable as is.
I look forward to following your adventures through the winter as I get my truck sorted out.

I just got Toyo R/T trail on my 3500HD single rear wheel, four-wheel-drive diesel track and I really like them. Really good traction in mud, dirt, and surprisingly good traction on wet roads, and no hydroplaning with them either. I drive through about 6 to 8 inches of standing water at 45 to 50 MPR. For a tire that has virtually no sipping on it they get surprisingly really good traction. And there are a very comfortable tire as well. I was told that the Toyo R/T Trails have A extra thick sidewall and reinforced carcass. so it gives you approximately 85% of the same durability you would get out of a mud tire but you get the comfort of a two ply sidewall. so far I am super impressed with this tire on my truck. And you guys did not mention that the Toyo R/T trial has a 45,000 mile treadwear warranty.

20:30 agree with you that IFS sure fails there. Not enough down travel on those systems. Only one I ever liked was the early 80's Bronco and F150/some F250 systems. They had opposite side pivots and did have good travel. But your Bronco is wider than the Jeeps so that should offset some of the issue. Glad you all got out safe though.

Someone commented below that this isn't real overlanding. I agree that the definition of overlanding from when it originally came on the scene is different but for me overlanding, weekend warrior, jeep camping, jeep exploring, it's all part of the adventure, and when a day of exploring takes you to an epic place like this who cares what it's called. I've commented a dozen times on your videos. AWESOME everything period!!! Oh, and your buddy with hand control JK is also very inspiring. I recall him from one of your past videos. Talk about not letting anything hold you back. Seriously, as epic as your videos are, you should do a feature about him and his travels. Recall that CHP in Cali that commented on how your inspired him on while he was in a hospital bed. Take that inspiration to another level. Great work once again buddy. God Bless you and your family.

20:21 Actually in such situations the other men from the other vehicles can come and stand on the right step bar or on something of the right side of that vehicle to give it a little more weight and keep the center mass in place as much as possible. I've seen situations like this before and it helped. There is nothing really dangerous, people can always jump off if something happens, like a rollover.

I would never let someone on the side of my vehicle in this situation. MAYBE slow rock crawling stuff but its just not worth it. Foot or piece of clothing gets caught and you're killing your friend.

Honestly great story telling here with amazing scenery! That incline was very tense, no room for error!

Just put a set of those tires on my Ram 2500. Only had about 3 weeks but seem good so far. They better be for the price.

Greetings Shaun. On my 2015 Ram 1500 Express Cab 4x4 I have and I can not spell it right but I have Faulken Rubitrex All Terain tires. They are 20 inch but I can not remember the rest of it but these tires are not too bad. They are a heavy tire and I can tell the are heavy because they reduce my speed only a very little bit if that makes sense and reduced my fuel mileage again a very little bit but they have a rather deep aggressive deep tread and really hold better than I thought. I am anxious to see how well they perform in snow if we get any here. These tires are what I wanted and personally I think I made a decent choice. I think these tires also will do well when going on some rough half of a lane forestry roads here in North West North Carolina.
I still enjoy all your videos especially this one. You have talent in putting out these videos which are professional quality. Keep it safe, have fun and enjoy what you do. And I hope I spelled your name right.

Nothing beats solid axles when it comes to flexing. I own many offroad builds from a 09 h3t alpha hummer truck a 07 yota fj cruiser, a 06 jeep commander, a 07 land rover lr3 , a 05 jeep wrangler unlimited rubicon, the one I take off road the most is the 05 jeep wrangler unlimited rubicon I built it up with old school lift I bought new 6inch long arm by full traction not sure if you can still get it if yes it probably take months to get it along with Hanson rear bumper and basket package, front arb bull bumper warn 9.0rc winch 2 speed advance adapter transfer case, rock hard roll cage , dual battery by odyssey, g2 front new axle geared to 488 and rear to 488 with arb air lockers , sitting on Mickey Thompson mtz 35x12.50x18 , solar panel on hood to keep batteries top off, Galvin wilderness rack with arb rooftop tent , I installed a sprintex supercharger to my 4.0 my build something from mid 2000 I love it because she not what most people drive today old school no bells no whistle last of the all metal jeep she is heavy curb weight 3740 gross weight 4600 I went to a cat scale I'm 5800 before adding more gear for overlanding that's 1200 over , nobody on any channel talks about how weight effects gas mileage to being safe on the road or trails or what might happen being too heavy I have more on my jeep than what I mentioned like warn gas tank skid plate arb awning, hi lift jack, front runner dual drawers , brake kit on front axle , lmy gas mileage is terrible but she a beast off road , I bought the rare h3t alpha hummer truck over a jeep gladiator because I didn't want a 80k jeep means jeep price plus build price , the h3t has very little to nothing to build on no accessories it died years ago but this doesn't mean you can't build a nice build in the bed area, I ordered a road armor bed rack and bought brackets off Amazon it worked perfectly why road armor bed rack the adjustable rack works perfectly but it was made for the gladiator, decked drawer system didn't work , but front runner dual drawers did with room to spare and on top of that I installed a front runner cargo slide so I don't have to crawl in bed, oh yeah other reason for road armor rack spare tire can mount on rack , from here the usual gear you see on a rack driver side 4 max tracks, driver side 4 water rotopax I felt water very important offroad , I added a front runner roof rack to bed rack with arb rooftop tent and awning , and hi lift jack , on cab another front runner rack with 23 zero shower room , pelican storage box , 10 gallon waterport these are real nice , Hella 4 offroad lights , front bumper arb bull bumper warn winch , sitting on 34inch tires I just installed a snorkel, and head lights led, I plan to install headers to the 5.3 v8 not much more I can do without really modification to front axle without replacing it with a solid axle this is the only thing that socks no lift kit available, even tho hummer h3t built off Chevrolet Colorado suspension but still different, but I am happy with what I bought not to be a cookie cutter build , nobody needs all the things we but from 40inch tires to 4k rooftop tents to go overlanding I think I still came out far cheaper than a gladiator build only speaking of myself but when it comes to flexing jeep owns it maybe next time I talk about my yota build or lr3 the lr3 turns just like a wrangler the hummer and yota turns like a vette terrible anyway c u on the trail

It seems like the extra weight on your roof might be detrimental on some of those shelf roads
