- This is a taste test/review of the new Major Melon Mtn Dew and the Pibb Xtra. They were $1.88 each at Walmart.
The Major Melon is Dew charged with watermelon. 1 bottle = 270 calories
The Pibb Xtra is spicy cherry soda. 1 bottle = 230 calories

I was a Dr Pepper girl. I am 62 years old and was a Dr Pepper drinker since 13. When I tasted Pibb for the 1st time when I was in my 20's...I thought it tasted like Dr Pepper. I tasted it a year ago and never tasted any cherry at all. I have not had any soft drinks in a long time but if I did...Pibb and Dr Pepper would be my choice. Thank you for the review!

The mountain dew zero sugar major melon is the most delicious sugar free soda and it's great that diabetics can enjoy it

It looks like a Spain and Indonesian inspired because Melon is a combination word as you know for Honeydo; Cantalope and Watermelon.

They Have A Diet Version Of Pibb Xtra Called Pibb Xtra Zero And Some Restaurant Chains Even Have Or Had Cherry Vanilla And Strawberry Flavored Versions Of It The Original Not The Diet Along With A Strawberry Flavored Version Of ... Dr. Pepper! But You Can Onlee Or Could Onlee Get Them From Coca Cola FreeStyle Machines
Your friend was correct. It is a permanent flavor.
Kind of bad timing to add a permanent flavor to the mix when we got this virus going on. Coke and Pepsi are both struggling to keep their top 10 sellers stocked on shelves. They both had to temporarily discontinue a lot of flavors so they could re-route resources to keep production on their top 10 sellers going. I can see this new Dew being a limited time thing for now because of the whole virus thing and then joining the rest of the flavors that are temporarily discontinued. I can see the Watermelon Dew on shelves for about a month or two or however long this first wave will last and then disappear for like 3-5 months. Pretty sure it won't become one of Pepsi's top 10 sellers to keep the production on it going and stuff. It's definitely not going to be massive like Coke, Diet Coke, Pepsi, regular Dew, maybe Cherry Coke and Cherry Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, and Diet Dew. At least I haven't got hit by all this virus stuff when it comes to pop/soda. Regular Coke is my default pop/soda flavor. Pretty sure Coca-Cola is going to make sure that regular Coke definitely stays in stock. Same with Pepsi. They'll make sure regular Pepsi stays in stock, although regular Dew is Pepsi's top seller.
@@projectpat8807 I agree! I have had such difficulty getting diet cherry coke and diet wild Cherry Pepsi since covid. They are around for a week and then disappear. Who’da thunk there would ever be a can shortage?! What a crazy time

I like the zero sugar version of Major Melon, it can be hard to find though… got some at a Lunds (in Richfield, MN) this week though… bogo sale until Wednesday on Pepsi products 😃

I tried the zero sugar melon very icy cold and in ice. It tastes like drinking a Jolly Rancher to me nd was very refreshing.
The pibb extra drink is like dr pepper. We have a PALS fast food place where I live and they have pibb extra. I always compared it to dr pepper.

Pibb Xtra replaced Mr. Pibb like 15 or 20 years ago...it's the only version, not a special version. Don't know why they changed the name lol
Have You Tried Coke Zero Caffeine Free? I've Had Coca Cola Caffeine Free And It's Pretty Good I Only Drink It If I'm Having Sleeping Problems It Has A Slightlee Little Different Taste To It Without The Caffeine In It But It's Still Great It's A Real Shame They Don't Offer Coca Cola Cherry Caffeine Free Vanilla Caffeine Free Orange Vanilla Caffeine Free Or Cherry Vanilla Caffeine Free

I guess they are releasing that Dew flavor sooner than expected. I was reading it was coming Spring 2021, so pretty much in March or April. I think I remember reading it was a permanent flavor too. But it's a little bit of a bad timing for Pepsi or even Coke to be releasing a new permanent flavor to the mix since with the whole virus nonsense, Coke and Pepsi are struggling to make pop/soda flavors (we say pop here in Upper Michigan). They are even struggling to do their top 10 sellers, which is part of why they temporarily discontinued a lot of flavors. They needed to re-route a lot of their resources on getting their top 10 sellers out on store shelves and during this whole virus stuff going on. I can see the watermelon Dew being a limited time thing temporarily until things go back to normal. We might get this first wave and that's it for a while because of everything going on related to this virus. But I guess I need to be on the lookout for this new Dew. I've been interested in it since I heard the announcement back in like August or September. Hopefully I like it.

pibb is depressed dr pepper had it in novemer i get it from a dessert takeaway place sells waffles crepes etc and also american products honey buns etc and the fizzy drinks .
