@@Ben-rex what
the last shot of Clone Wars is one of the best final shots for any series ever
Reminded me a lot of the ending of Halo: Reach. Same shot of a broken helmet on the ground, and even the final dialog speech matches Clone Wars really well too.
It’s super underrated. It’s not just a clone helmet, it’s an Ahsoka clone helmet, which just gives it a whole new layer of meaning. All the three biggest focal points of the series (Anakin, Ahsoka, the clones) are tied together in that final shot.
@@Herosparky "It didn't take long for the Republic to fall. Our enemy was ruthless, effecient, but they weren't nearly fast enough. For you had already passed the torch, and because of you we found the Death Star, unlocked it's secrets and shattered our enemy's resolve. Our victory- your victory was so close, I wish you could have lived to see it. But you belong to Scarif now. Your body, your armor, all burnt and turned to glass. All except your hope, that you gave to us, and with it we can rebuild."
@@PositiviteaTheFirst source please.
@@Im_Ish thats the final dialogue of Halo reach with some edits to fit star wars universe
I saw a comment when this aired, it said
"There was no need for Darth Vader to go all the way to some insignificant moon just to find a rusty old lightsaber of some random old Jedi under a pile of rubble and dead clones...
But Anakin needed to."
I think I've seen that Comment somewhere too
: (
Oh god now I’m sad
I mean it's a pretty sad sentiment but "we've found the crashed Venator of the 332nd Clone Battalion and a possible lead on what happened to the former Jedi Ahsoka Tano" is kinda important to the guy who in the early years of the Empire made it his job to hunt down and destroy any Jedi who may have survived Order 66.
Like Vader probably didn't just send an Inquisitor because it was Ahsoka they were hunting but saying there was no need for Vader, the Jedi hunter, to go to the crash site at all is kinda untrue.
...to be fair, they were probably also looking for Maul, which Vader would kind of need to be there for
The image of Jesse helmet with the republic symbol...the republic is truly dead...
Mon Mothma (Dead, but not forgotten.)
And the Republic's greatest hero, the catalyst that brought its fall, walks away into the background.
I'm not really an emotional guy but when it showed the graves and helmets of the clones and then Jesse's, that broke me because we followed him all the way from season 1 and all the way to his end. Damn this finale was brutal, but i love it.
@@JTDL7541 the fact that this scene tugs at people emotions when they might not be emotional people in my personal opinion shows how good this last arc was. I'm someone who has a lot of emotions, and I was a wreck after this. I can't believe I put off watching TCW until just the middle part of this year.
I personally feel like Ahsoka is the only one that could have stopped Anakin from turning into Darth Vader, but Luke is the only one that could turn Darth Vader back into Anakin.
I also think Ahsoka had the chance of stopping Anakin's fall had they managed to talk
its heavility hinted when Yoda asks Ahsoka in their last conversation if he wants to say something to Anakin.. also Obi Wan wanted her to talk yo him.. the problem was how that never happent in time..
One of the great triumphs of S7 IMO is how they make us really feel the weight of all those moments when Ahsoka just speaking to Anakin could literally have changed the future of the entire galaxy BUT never having it feel contrived when she doesn't - every time, it feels earned and true. Tragic but not false.
I love this take. Cause you know, neither Padmé nor Obi-Wan could bring back pre-suit!Vader. Nor could Ahsoka save suit!Vader. In canon already we knew that Obi-Wan asked Padmé to speak to Ani before his turn, sensing their trust was tested by his assignment, but she was somewhat not best suited for this. She didn't understand the pull of the dark side of the Force and she was very VERY much against Palpatine's latest decisions as Chancellor (while the man had given Anakin some things he never found in the Order). Ahsoka was the perfect balance; she gave Anakin all the things he seeked in Padmé but didn't perceive in Obi-Wan & the Council (lack of judging, flexible understanding, transparent love for he WAS not what he could do) , yet was a Force user who could understand the dangers of his conflict. It is indeed Clone Wara greatest achievement. Make us feel that if she had been there, history could've been changed.
Honestly i feel like Ahsoka could have brought him back she just isnt willing to even try because to her even though she knows they are the same person she thinks of Anakin and Vader as 2 different people. My reasoning that she could bring him back is that its been confirmed in Rebels during their fight "Then you will die." Is the only time its Darth Vader talking every other thing he says to her is Anakin speaking. I dont think she or anyone could have brought him back during the Purge but after that i think she could have. The real question to me is could Obi-Wan have brought him back if he tried? I think that he could but i think its much more likely he would fail. Its been canon for a long time that Anakin hates being Vader and being just pure evil and that Anakin thinks being Darth Vader and serving the Empire is the only punishment even close to cruel enough for what he has done.
Imagine being Ahsoka, having to bury the bodies of people who respected, then tryed to kill her
This explains why she was so apprehensive about having anything to do with Grogu, or Luke Skywalker, for that matter. When she finally meets her Former Master again, that will make a world of difference for her, and her perspective on The Skywalkers, The Force, and The Jedi within the galaxy.
Burying all these clones must have taken quite a long time
I don't have to imagine that....
@@anthonyyoutubefan7567 I really hope they do an animated series about Ahsoka and Luke meeting rebuilding the Jedi Order together.
@@toqkaizogou1636 I'm gonna find it so hard to care about Luke rebuilding the order, knowing that it just gets nullified by the sequels with the likely exception of Grogu.
My heart sinks everytime I see Vader walk away from the Clone Helmet, because that marks the definitive end of my childhood. 12 years of stories, journeys, growth, hard work, development and the emotions.
Exactly😭😭😭
And it wasn't even finished. I mean yeah they ended the show but so many arcs didn't get shown. Cad bane and boba, ventress arc, crystal crysis just so many potentially amazing arcs that might never be shown. I really wish Disney allowed them to make more episodes before ending it

The biggest victims of this meaningless war were the clones. They created and live to fight for the enemy without knowing. Ultimately, they lost their honor with the great betrayal they were forced to do and abandoned.
I wouldn't say they lost their honor..
I'd say their Honor and Dignity was robbed from them
They were always the victims. Slaves to the Republic Thrown into a war they don't understand fighting for freedom that they will never have

A powerful and perfect line. I don't entirely agree with Ahsoka, but I respect it completely.

I love Jesse he was just a normal trooper that first appeared during Season 2 Episode 10, he survived umbara and became an ARC Trooper to honor Fives and earned the rank of lieutenant but in the end his biggest achievement and biggest disappointment was that he represents the end of the republic. RIP ARC/CT-5597 "Jesse
Not to mentions becomes the very thing he followed Fives into resisting: a mindless, expendable puppet of a soldier.
Calvin is totally speechless. Exactly the way I felt when I finished watching TCW. I didn't leave my chair for the following 5 minutes, without saying a word, sobbing.
That last shot said it all: The shell of a man who was once beloved by his friends, brothers and soldiers. Now leading men who fear and hate him, surrounded by the constant memories of his failure and fall. A life of constant regret. And the soldiers who once would willingly die for him? The soldiers of the Republic? They died with the Republic...not for it. In the end, only one person won: Emperor Palpatine.
Soldiers who fought under men did like Vader though.
The Clones will always be the tragic heroes of the story in my mind. They believed in their cause and put their faith in the Republic/Jedi. But where Anakin made a choice, the clones were robbed of theirs and will forever be remembered as the heartless force of the empire. They were meant to be expendable, but not to me.
😭😭😭
since mando, is hinting at doing a thrawn trilogy
I would love if we see surviving clones come out retirement for one last hurrah to fight willingly for the new republic
Filoni answered in an interview after Rebels season 2 finale, Ahsoka could not turn Vader back to the light, only Luke could. She feels that she could have prevented his fall and it's why she feels so guilty, but she could not turn him back.

Here’s a interesting fact: By the time of the sequels Ahsoka and Clone Trooper Kix may the ONLY clones war veterans still alive by that time. For Kix it’s ironic... A clone that was bred to save other clones yet in the end... he’s the one to outlast them all. He actually feels so guilty knowing he’s the last clone he grew his hair out to the point he’s unrecognizable. As for Ahsoka well we know she’s well enough by the time of the Mandalorian(yes we hear her voice in TRoS but Dave himself has hinted she’s still alive and well so I’ll take his word for it)
Think of the bigger picture: Everyone else is probably either dead or we simply don’t know. It’s like how our generation will be the last to have wwII veterans still alive.
Kix is alive??

@Dylan Willyerd yep, Kix is alive. After the death of Fives, he continued to investigate the bio chip. Sometime between Fives dying and ROTS, Kix was kidnapped by the Separatists and frozen in carbonite. He wasn't unfrozen until around the time of The Force Awakens, nearly 50 years later

About their whole discussion of Ahsoka's survival invalidating Luke, they don't know it yet but I just love how Dave Filoni thought about that and the fact he had to show Ahsoka try in order to still validate Luke, is just so brilliant.
Ahsoka taking Rex's helmet off absolutely wrecks me every single time
Ahsoka (not being a jedi): I won't kill clones, it's not their fault
meanwhile Obi-Wan and Yoda: *choping heads off and brutally killing soldiers"
Ahsoka is the embodiment of what Jedi should be, while Obi and Yoda are what Jedi have become
I mean tbh they don’t know about the chip and jedi temple was in jeopardy I don’t think negotiation would work bruh what r they gonna do say to the cold blooded clones “hey bro chill out let’s talk about this”?
Well that was before the retcon. So I give them a pass.
They didn't know that the clones weren't acting under their own will.
That was before the whole chip in the head thing though. Back then the orders were just part of the programming to be fanatically loyal to the Republic/Supreme Chancellor the clones were raised with, and most chose to obey.
Here's the thing about the Jedi Purge: it's an ongoing event, not just a single day. Some Jedi do survive the initial wave of violence from Order 66, but they continue to be hunted down and destroyed by Vader and his Inquisitorius. So a handful do survive Order 66, but that doesn't have to cheapen the OT, because like 20 years have passed to allow the Jedi Purge to come near to its full and terrible completion. Those handful of Order 66 survivors are pretty much dead.
I can't believe that I still remember them starting the clone wars and now here we are again, I watched everyone of these just to watch again

1-hour long convo about one of the greatest star wars stories of all time. I love the Clone Wars and it's amazing to see people so passionate about it. This series did so much for the story of Anakin Skywalker and I hope more and more people come to realize his tragedy.
Oh and remember. The force will be with you. Always.
Honestly can’t imagine any other show replacing this on Thursdays.
I'm sad its over but glad the series finished out on such an incredible ending
After the war I questioned the point of the whole thing all those men died and for what?
- Captain CT 7567
Until the season 2 finale of Mandalorian this was honestly the hardest I had cried at something from Star Wars since Revenge of the Sith.
The scene of her looking over the graves of the clones, standing in silence, knowing that these men died for nothing is one of the most heartbreaking scenes in all of Star Wars. And what made it even more tragic is that out of all of the Jedi who ever commanded the clones none of them cared as much about them as she did. They truly were not just her brothers in arms but in life.
I Love how no one says a word at the ending. The silence is so powerful.
Silence speaks volume.
It's not really a spoiler to tell them "the owl" symbolizes the light side of the force, so even though Ahsoka left the Jedi, it's clear she is still one with the light side,.. they can figure out the rest when it happens

Here we go! Tissues at the ready bois!
The last scene man...no dialogue, eerie non-Star Wars music, super muted color palette. It's so good.
I really hope that we'll yet get to see the 40 still unfinshed Clone Wars episodes on screen again (either animated or in live-action). They were cancelled in 2014 by Disney taking over Star Wars and would have likely played out before this finale.
We would have gotten to see more of Ahsoka, Maul, Mother Talzin, Grievous, Dooku, Asajj Ventress, Boba, Cad Bane, Plo Koon, Palpatine (fight), Utapau, Anakin, Obi-Wan, the Clones, the Mandalorians, and so on.
petition for some OVA's!
They should remake ROTS in the Clone Wars animation style with the CW voice actors in their respective roles
I was so frustrated that we didn't get to see Maul's escape arc animated. Having Mother Talzin's death relegated to a comic book was doing her dirty.
@@kenjutsukata1o1 yeah. I'd love to see all of it, but at the very least we need Son Of Dathomir to be animated. its the only real gap left that you can feel as you watch thru everything.
I always wondered what would happen if Qui-Gon lived to become Anakin's master...
Watch The Mandalorian Gallery on Disney Plus, there Dave Filoni explains that Qui Gon's death is the most crucial plot point of the prequels/OT, which is why the music of Qui Gon, Obi Wan and Maul's fight is called duel of the fates.
@@luca5747 Qui-Gon would have been an actual father figure to Anakin and could have prevented him from going further into the Dark Side, given his particular perspective on the Force and the Jedi Order.
@@truthclaw5 Qui gon is actually very simaler to Post Rotj Luke in terms of his views in my opinion.
I think a lot of star wars theorists get it wrong when they think this would lead to a light Anakin who wouldnt be tempted by Palpatine and who would prevent the Empire. If Qui-Gon stayed and set Anakin on a different path, Palpatine would have surely adapted his plan to compensate. Maybe he would have found other opportunities to kill Qui-Gon or even frame him Ahsoka-style and degrade Anakin's faith in the council even more
@@MikeHesk742 It would certainly throw a wrench into his plan. Qui-Gon would be a much better parental substitute for Anakin than Obi-Wan, who just wasn't emotionally mature enough to be that for Anakin. Assuming nothing diverges significantly from Episode I to II, Anakin would be much more emotionally mature, and wouldn't be manipulated as easily. Hard to say if Ahsoka would still become his apprentice; seems unlikely. Maybe she'd be Obi-Wan's in this timeline.
A beautiful end to a beautiful show. I’m serious, I grew up on this show and it was just so great for it to have a proper ending.
Also, I’d like to think that somewhere in between this moment and when we see her again in Rebels, Ahsoka taught somebody the ways of the Force. Ahsoka would make a great teacher.
And that's why clone wars is the best cannon content star wars has

Can't believe you guys talked about iconic Clone Wars music and didn't mention the theme of the actual clones themselves. That shit is amazing.
Watching the discussion and seeing Eric and Aaron trying not to spoil rebels is just so funny to me
The perfect ending to an amazing show
The thing you have to remember is that there were so many thousands of jedi across the galaxy so to kill all of them except a handful is a very high success rate! I don’t think Palpatine ever expected to kill every last one in Order 66; he probably expected that the remainder would need to be hunted down and killed afterwards .
This episode was a visual spectacle, and a beautifully tragic ending
„I am not gonna be the one to kill them“
- Ahsoka
Meanwhile Obi Wan and Yoda are literally massacring the clones without holding back at all lmao
They didn’t know the clones were doing it against their will. Guess they still would’ve had to kill them.
@@dragonite4314 Obi-wan and yoda also had different goals then ahsoka

Also why holding back? The clones were trying to kill them after all, is not like they had another choice.
This show was amazing. I remember having to ask for permission to stay up until 930pm to watch the very first episode and then I watched the series finale as I am graduating college. I never realized how much this show was a part of my life until it ended.
As Dave Filoni puts it in The Mandalorian Documentary - Vader is saved by becoming the father that he never had when he chooses to save Luke from the Emperor. In my opinion, that's why more Jedi surviving Order 66 doesn't devalue Luke. In my head canon, no one else would have been able to save Vader other than Luke.
Thats also why yoda says that there is another, meaning leia, as only one of his children could have brought anakin back to himself.
@@shugaroony Yep, it's kinda invalidated by a lot of old EU and new canon side-content but I always got the impression that in the original trilogy Jedi like Obi Wan and Yoda didnt even know it was possible for someone to come back from the Dark Side. Maybe it had never happened before.
But ofc like everything that happens in the original trilogy, it then spawned a million games/comics/books that have Jedi becoming ghosts and trying to turn darksiders back to the light.
It was such a symbolic finale, and so powerful. As attached to Ahsoka we got along with how much it built the characters we aleady knew like Anakin and Obi-Wan, this series was truly about building the characters of the clones. Like Rex, Fives, Echo and Cody. I'm glad they never forgot that and the end fully embraced that.
I feel like killing Droids (R2 like ones) is the same effect as killing a dog in a show or movie 😢
thats the problem i mostly had with the separatist B1 droids.. they gave them cheerfull and comical personalities including fear only to be constantly mass slayed by the Jedi and Clones... specially when they bring back some of them like R0-GR

It's amazing that not much happened in this episode but at the same time *everything* happened
This is hands down one of the greatest 4 episodes of all of television. Every single thing about this arc is perfect whether it's the characters, story, action, animation, music, or emotion. I couldn't have asked for a better finale to a fantastic show. And The Siege of Mandalore is without a doubt the greatest Star Wars content since Return of the Jedi.
That last shot though.. Damn.. So powerful.. So meaningful.. So symbolic.. One of the best endings of any shows ever!!
It's been an awesome 2 years watching my favorite show with you all, so thank you for doing this!
I remember when i watched The Clone Wars movie the first time in 2008 and shortly after it i started following the show. When the show was cancelled after season 5 finished airing, i was filled with confusion especially after Dave Filoni told us of the arcs we didn't get to see. But in 2018 when a friend of my let me know of shows revival, i was overjoyed and happy that Clone Wars got the finale it always deserved. Because i was 5 when the Phantom Menace came out i was perfect age for the prequels and i know during the 2000s they were hated, especially by the older audience and fans, but i've always loved them, regardless of the fact that George Lucas isn't that good of a writer and director, and The Clone Wars enforced my love for the prequel trilogy era even more, and i'm glad through it we got Dave Filoni who has inherited Lucas' mythology.
OMG the intro was absolutely fantastic!! Being with you till the beginning of this adventure, I feel nostalgic right now.. Thank you for the great journey! 👏🏻👏🏻

Heartbreaking but a satisfying end. For me the highlight was Anakin and Ahsoka relationship and how far they come in the show. I love their relationship and felt at times it was more stronger than his and obi wan. For me the most saddest was the Vader scene. I believe it was Anakin because of how the scene was set up. The silence, the music, when Vader bent down to pick up the saber and brushed the snow away. When he took the saber with him. This scene is the only Vader scene where I look at Vader and never saw him as threatening as he usually is but a man who seems in sadness and full of guilt. I love how their relationship transcends and continues even as adversary or foe. Looking back at the prequels, thanks to this show I love Anakin more and it's hard to imagine Anakin without Ahsoka and Ahsoka without Anakin.
As for Rex. I'm so happy he survived and was so tragic that he had to bury his clone brothers. His relationship with Ahsoka developed really well and is also another highlight of the show for me.
I am so glad that the last scenes convey the tragedy of the clones so well, being manipulated through order 66 makes them kinda innocent and we can remember the clones as great characters/heroes from this awesome show
Thanks so much Blindwave for watching the Clone Wars in its entirety. It’s been a long two and a half years, but your reactions to each episode made my week every time. It was awesome to get to see all of your reactions to one of my favorite shows
Thank you Blind Wave, it was fun to doa rewatch chronological with you all for the first time!
Blind Wave, Not too many people caught this, but Jessy was not a clone at all. Jessy was Jango's younger brother. That's why he had children older than he could have had as an escaped clone. One more leak. Boba did in fact die in the belly of Sarnack, Jessy is posing as Boba, that's why his Mandalore armore was so tight on him. it's also why he never attempted to retrieve that armore, not until he learned from the Mandalorian that it belonged to his Brother. This also explains how he obtained possession of Slave 1.
I can't believe it's finally over I've been watching this since the first episode, been a journey.
It's been a fun ride! I'm glad to be a part of it. Can't wait for more reactions you'll do next! May the Force be with you.
I love the ending of this series so much... it stays with me every time I see it, and I think about it ... a lot. All the color is drained out of the clones' world. First as more and more plain white troopers show up, and second as how after the snow falls, all the troopers, droids, and commander of the Imperial war machine are monochrome. The only splash of color left in the world, is the blue lightsaber -- which echoes his old self -- and the painted clone helmet in Ahsoka's colors, which is faded. And with Vader looking up at the Morai, I can't help but think, "Ahsoka got out; she escaped the cycle of violence, she can be anything now; Vader got what he wanted: to play soldier forever, and use violence and threats to make the galaxy fall in line." Who has the better life? 😥
I like Eric's comment about Grievous telling Obi-Wan how he was trained by Dooku (56:55). It makes me think of another moment like that in Episode III:
"My powers have doubled since the last time we met, Count."
"You mean last week?" :)
The clone wars opening can only be explained as perfect
What a ride! Watched from the first episode till now! Love all you guys. Keep doing your crest reactions.
It’s been a great journey everyone, Love this series to death, really wished we got the remaining unfinished arcs. But again what an amazing finale the the greatest animated series!
