Something I watched in a video about giving baths to kittens/cats was to put an old towel at the bottom of the tub. I then tried it on my niece's 5 month old Shih Tzu. It worked marvelously!!
I guess because a bath tub is slippery, it causes cats and dogs to fear slipping and drowning, sense their ability to sense depth is (I guess) different from ours. Of course, it's just a theory, but theory aside, the towel worked to calm the pup down~~

Vets told me for years my Frenchie was losing his fur in huge patches because of environmental allergies but I decided to have him tested for food allergies and he was allergic to everything I was feeding him! I was giving him Natural Balance/Wellness Simple beef, salmon, chicken organic canned pumpkin & cheese (over years) Now I give him organic peas, carrots, apples & green beans more than the kibbles (Great Plains Wellness) bison or lamb (nothing with wings). Read the ingredients !! so many dogs food don't have chicken on the front but it's the 2nd or 3rd ingredient and pumpkin is in a lot of the better food brands (which isn't bad but he's allergic). And Laura I totally agree-wipe there face and paws EVERY time after they come in from being outside-licking paws or dirty paws in their beds cause itching, irritation and problems. LOVE your videos!!!

So much cuteness!!! My frenchie loves her baths. She runs and jumps into the water. She is so cute about it.
Jake, my Frenchie makes the same face when I wash him. It's a cross between "why are you doing this to me?" and "I hate you." I like to remind him that I am the one who feeds him and he seems to remember not to be a jerk during bath time.

I am yearning for a Frenchie. I'm completely obsessed. I watch the videos all the time. I realize they have health problems, that there is controversy surrounding their being over-bred, but I'm still obsessed. I've always, always had shelter dogs and just this once, I'd like to pick a dog just for me.

My frenchie baby is not a fond of bath time either. We purchased a hose unit that we set up for baths and then can put away. It speeds things up. I love Mabel's serious, concerned., and sometime peeved looks...lol

Omg I love Mabel. I have A Frenchie & her name is Bellà! They’re the sweetest most spoiled things ever! Mabel made my heart melt. I had to instantly go and grab my Bellà from my daughters room lol.

I use Burts Bees dog shampoos for my pittie and it works wonders, it’s also sulfate free and natural based. It might be good for Mable as well 😁

Hey love your videos and mable is so cute !! Tips for bath . Place a big towel or anything anti slippery in the tub helps with their anxiety . The number 1 reason why dogs don’t like bath is because the surface they are on is very slippery and they hate that feeling . Number two , maybe invest on a shower buddy that you can smear peanut butter on so they are occupied when they are in the tub . ;)

I always noticed that my dogs at bath time didn’t like slippery footing in the tub. So I put down several rubber bath mats in the tub first. This gave them secure footing during bath time.

Nothing like a Frenchie spa day.
And the reason why Im asking is I checked out the dog parks around my home and they are not nice and have tons of big dogs. The veterinarian suggested that I shouldn’t take him yet until he gets all his Parvo shots
And get him used to other dogs but I love that this part has so many Frenchy’s he can mingle with that are his size thank you in advance hope to hear from you soon

I don't know if it's bad lol?? But I always get in the tub with my frenchie not like full body but I just stand in there while I wash him and I feel like maybe it makes him feel safer because he loves baths or doesn't mind them :)

If I really wanted to own a Frenchie but I do go to school and I would walk her in the mornings but wouldn't be back home until around 4:00 on school days; but if I do one it will be in Summer so I will be with her all the time but on school days would it be okay for her to be home for 8 hours with just my grandmother for awhile?
