The Urban Courtyard House was designed for a client who wanted to accommodate a blend of contemporary and urban lifestyle patterns. The garden views from all the spaces within the house infuse a serenity reminiscent of traditional courtyard houses.
The formal expression of the house derives from the interiors. The play of levels create carefully proportioned volumes that enrich the experiential sequence through the house.
Principal Architect Vinay Mavinakere explains the design concept behind this beautiful modern house with minimal interiors in Bengaluru, Karnataka.

Nice home, liked it all except the Grills, they should have been darker in color instead of white, and more spaces between them.
my biggest doubt is Without plastering of some walls and ceiling (like exposed RCC wall and concrete ceiling) in future while in the rainy seasons.. is there any possibility of water leakage, or problem related water, cracks ???? many engineers and maison are saying tat.. without plastering wall and ceilings is not good for life of building. I'm totally confused. please clarify my doubt 🙏. I'm going to start my building works in January
Concrete is the material which needs proper curing after the casting work and a lot depends on the workmanship and expertise of layman. Always keep in mind to go for a skilled labour with proper experience in exposed work or else there are chances that issues might occur. Also do keep note that all the big structures like bridges and dams which are exposed to many loads and tear on daily basis are made of exposed concrete and with proper supervision and construction, there are not any problems.

all exposed Concrete are looks exposed but this not actually exposed Concrete . the concept called anti-algae acrylic-siloxane plaster coating (asian paints product is called Archi Concrete) these are used to plater the Concrete which looks similar to concrete.
If the concreting of walls or slabs are done in a proper way no need to worry about leakages.
First thing is that if you want to keep exposed concrete you can use penetron chemical in concrete while casting.It is a waterproofing chemical which u can use by mixing it in concrete while casting.
Second thing is if u don't want expose concrete but u want the feel then you can go for archi concrete which is plaster which gives u the look of exposed concrete.

Overall house design is subtle and serene but the living room looks like empty or undone.
Good house! Kitchen is tiny compared to the large house! Would feel claustrophobic in such a small tiny kitchen. Kitchen has to be one of the largest places in the house!
Thank you for going through the video. I appreciate your observation. Since you have large windows & doors beside you don't feel claustrophobic. Also this the dry kitchen & there is one more wet kitchen iside.

You took the advantage of the existing tree in front of the house. The tree was not planted by you. You have spent more than a crore building the house. Don't you think you should have atleast planted 10 trees in the same road, so that you pay back to the nature.
