Tbh, I just thought in all the scenes the characters doing it are doing "feminine" gestures, and its a way of depicting feminisity. Notice how the phil is acting girly in the scene, an the other characters are all girls. Just me theory though.
The "Disney point" came about because Walt thought it looked like a rude gesture if everyone only used one finger. The "horns" hand gesture closely resembles the American Sign Language "I Love You" sign - also, that "soft hand", with the two middle fingers curled in is a very common hand position in ballet.
Tarzan being Anna and Elsa's brother was disproven, considering Tarzan's parents were from England while Elsa and Anna's parents were from Arendelle, which while fictional, was supposedly in Norway. I really do like the theory of the ship from Tarzan being the same ship that Ariel found, though!
for the Beauty and the Beast theory to be true, you'd have to assume there was no furniture in the castle at all, just this kid and a bunch of servants in empty rooms.
6:46 when you're at a rock concert and stuff like that and you're using supposed devil horns with their fingers it never involves the thumb, it is only the first finger and pinky when people raise up the pinky the regular finger and the thumb that means I love you none of those depictions with the Disney characters are caught using their fingers without their thumb
6:57 In all honesty, it's probably just to make the characters look more dainty and cute. In all these examples they're either princess, little girls, or acting like one of the two.
5:30 That hand gesture is I Love You 🤟 in American Sign Language. If the thumb was over the two middle fingers that would be the sign of the horns 🤘 or rock on.
About what happened to Sven the reindeer's mother, if she was killed by the ice harvesters it would not have been just for the pelt. Everything gets harvested by the people who use reindeer, and the meat is quite tasty, I have eaten it often enough as in Finland you can buy it also here in the south of our country, not just in Lapland. .
Apparently the lion king wasnt purposefully based of hamlet, it was just supposed to be just based on the heros journey and the hamlet similarities are coincidental
A feel like a hero's journey is one of the last things I would associate with The Lion King. Even when Simba returned to Pride Rock, he did so more because he was reminded of his obligation, rather than because he decided to be a hero.
FYI, when you curl up your middle and ring finger but stick out your thumb, that's not banging out at a rock concert. That's the gesture Spiderman uses.
@@Sharla_Smith Great observation of the skull most likely being from a large primate instead of a large cat! 😊I would guess a baboon also after looking at the overall size and shape. I think most people relate long, prominent canine teeth with a large cat. The overall shape is wrong for a lion too, don’t get me wrong, but most people are gonna notice the teeth first. I don’t think many people realize baboons also have large, long canines as well.😊
the Aladin thing, Jafar never undid the wish. He magically replaced the price clothes with Aladins normal clothes to show who he at one time was. However no Aladin became a prince. The issue is Aladin only used 2 wishes. One to become a prince and one to free the Genie.
Technically he used one to become a prince, the second to be rescued from the deep sea, and the third to free the genie. Sure, he didn't vocally announce the wish to be rescued, but remember he was unconcious at the time so Genie made the decision for him to that one wish. The only issue I then see, is that Aladdin was never made aware that Genie only saved him because he "used" a wish, so how then, when he wishes for Genie's freedom, is he aware that he is down to his last?
@@PikaLink91 It may be as simple as he didn't NEED anymore wishes by that point. He got Jasmine, and in the process food, shelter, and money, not to mention power and anything else he might ask for. Basically he already got everything he could have wanted so whether he knew he was down to the last or not made no difference. Genie fulfilled his end of the deal so he simply fulfilled his promise before anything could keep him from doing so. EDIT: I do realize that Aladdin did not get Jasmine technically until AFTER he decided to free Genie, which Aladdin DID recognize, was the final wish as he asked Genie, "But what about your freedom?" meaning he knew there was no wishing for that if he became a Prince again. That aside, I think Aladdin felt there was no point in making the wish when Jasmine already knew he wasn't a real prince, or at least the envisioned appearance of a prince
@@PikaLink91 no he never wished to be rescued The genie cheated him out of that wish against his will. The genie claims he only has the 1 wish left. But Genie cheated him he only legally used 2 wishes/

If the thumb is extended also, it means, "I love you." Nothing to do with devils at all. I'm referring to sign language, which I learned some of years ago.
@@tb6303 I learned some decades ago too. I was going for a more practical approach to context of plot. But thank you for sharing that, all non troll comments are more interesting than not.
Also, regarding the devil horns hand gesture? It's important to note where the thumb is when making the gesture. If the thumb is tucked in, it's devil horns; if it's out, it matches the shorthand for sign language's "I love you". (In sign language, the extended pinky represents "I", the thumb and forefinger is an "L", and the thumb and pinky extended is a "y".) But most likely what's happening in the Disney films is just that they use real life acting to get gestures and timing right, and extending the pinky a lil bit is kind of universally related to femininity. It's literally just a way to imply a girlish motion or pose, which btw is what Phil was doing in that one snippet of Disney's Hercules.
A bigger question regarding Kristoff should be... why was he the only little boy out at work on the ice accompanied with several adults who seem to barely even acknowledge his presence? I mean child labor is one thing. I'm aware this story is likely set in a time where children his age were commonly put to work, I mean you only have to go back about 100 years to a time where it was common for children down to age 4 to be put to work.. that was basically the reason to even have children in the first place. Sure they meant more mouths to feed, but they also meant more hands to help out at home. Anyway, I find it odd that there weren't more boy children on the ice with Kristoff, orphans or not, because him being alone, and with a baby reindeer whose origins we also didn't know, struck me as incredibly out of place.
I'm always amazed to remember that Snow White was animated in 1937. Most people can't even comprehend what life was like that far back. Some of these Disney properties have been making them money for longer than any of them have been alive, of course they don't know how to handle them.
5:19 Pointing with your index finger is rude in some places, but putting your index and middle finger up while the rest are tucked against your palm is flipping someone off in England, so I don't really think that the reason they use both is to not offend people.

The Devil's Horns thing seems to follow on from the fact that pointing with the index finger alone is considered rude in some cultures, whilst creating variety from the Disney two-finger point which might be, err, pointed x
I didn't get to visit Disney Land (Paris) until I was 25, and while it was initially cool to nib myself in the cheek at say "I'm actually here", in hindsight, reminicing about the overall mon-fri exoperience... it was pretty underwhelming. Or at the very least, it's a place where me and my family agree that while it was cool to visit once, we see no reason to go back.
Devil horns are for concerts yes, but once you add the thumb it becomes a completely different thing. Just letting you know. They probably did that just to show off how well they can articulate the fingers back in those days imo
About the genie theory, in the live action movie when aladin asks genie to make him a prince he creates a real human so it's likely that he created a real kingdom. But to destroy my own theory genie also tells him "prince Allie got you through the door, but aladin has to be the one to do it." which hints that it is just a disguise
@3:02 It's a baboon skull. They look identical. I get wanting to keep the theory that scar ate mufasa to add to his evilness but how can anyone deny that that's a baboon's skull?
A "proper" lady or gentleman would be taught to extend their pinkies for tea possibly to the point where it's a reflex. Mideveil folk extend their pinkies for adding salt and pepper, same side effect. And one often extends their index finger when thinking as if to couch one's chin. My theory: the two gestures were, simply, subconsciously combined. Phil's is just a simple dance gesture. As for Snow White, I got nothin'.
11:40 about the Evil Queen being mother Gothel. Rider never specify how long Gothel had keep her self alive with the flower before the flower was found by Rapuzel's parent's Guards meaning the Queen could have found the flower at the end of Snow White and keep her self alive for the 200 years that separates Snow White from Tangled before she knocked of the cover wail leaving for the guards to find it.
