@eddieq2189 baseball is a team game. You can't expect one player to carry the whole team. If that's the case, then every other star player on that team was also overrated. The guy was a 5-tool player and did it at a very high level for a long period of time. He could hit, he hit for power, he could throw, he could run, and he was a great defensive outfielder. When he played, he was considered one of the best players of his era. He put up hall a fame numbers. Regardless of how his career ended, that should not tarnish his accomplishments. I wonder what you think about Mike Trout? Is he overrated also. He hasn't won anything with the Angels, but he has arguably been the best player in baseball for the past 10 years.
Yes his swing was different. We are all being taught to stay on top of ball with mostly a back hand swing. If you watch him, he is mostly front hand dominant with more of a pulling action.
I met Ken at the Tucson International Airport years ago when his kids were playing here at the U of A. I almost cried, had to hold my composure. He said, "C'mon, let go take some pictures." And pictures we took. We talked and he signed a baseball for some kid there that just happened to have one on him for some reason. He's an overall great guy in and out of baseball and I'll never forget that day and will take that day with me to the grave.
Ken Griffey Jr. should've been the greatest center fielder that has ever played... but my guess is, he was more interested in acceptance from his own father no matter what he chose to do with his life
In 1989 or 90 We had Griffey Sr and Jr at a baseball card show I was working at . I remember sitting with Jr and just chatting about baseball and working out. Who would have known he would have gone on to have an Incredible career.

Yankee fans are mostly trash. My friends that are Yankee fans told me that
I guess he was overrated in an era full of steroids right? He was the only one that never used steroids during that era buddy so make it make sense
Still my all time favorite player..his stance and swing was smooth.
Griffey was my favorite player growing up and being a left handed batter I loved his effortless smooth swing that made great power.
Mine too
Best swing from the left side I have ever seen.
Have you ever seen Billy Williams?
And bonds
I was about to comment this but I was thinking best swing period
Best swing I've ever seen
Flawless swing smh
Loved watching Griffey, Buhner, Edgar and all the smash brothers that played for the zmariners in the 90’s and 2000’s. Fun to watch!!!! Go M’s!!!!

I remember that 1998 season he hit 56 home runs,Griffey Jr and Barry bonds have the best fluid left hand swing I've ever seen
