I bought the early release of this aircraft and agree with your comments, I was waiting for it's release as I knew it would be good and was rapt with it. Iris has listened to the early buyers and already have an update due out now and it comes with another bush trip addition. This is great value and being from Australia I am happy to support a local Flight Simulation team. I work as a mechanic on these aircraft hence my interest in them. This is the first MSFS aircraft I am happy to fly mostly from the cockpit, zooming out gives a great perspective of of being in the aircraft at the correct seating position with great views inside/outside. I love this and is already my favorite to fly, thanks IRIS. Ian
You need to include the fact it drops out the sky if you take the flaps up too early........need to be close to the flap limiting speed so it doesn't mush down as the flaps come up. Looks good guys!
Why is it floating above the ground when coming from the hangar? A bug to be fixed? A glitch ? I was a "must buy this" until that part showed in the video clip. Now I'm not so sure?
I noticed this too. Also, check the nose wheel after he just exits the hangar and turns right, the nose wheel stayed straight. That was enough to put me off.
When you came out of the hangar, it looked liked the aircraft was floating, especially more so when you did the turn as you exited the hangar. The nose wheel didn't turn either as you turned right after exiting the hangar.
I purchased this, followed the instructions in the application to install it and I am unable to use in the game? Is there an issue with the mod or something I am missing? I want to fly these planes as they are ones used commonly in Australia for flight lessons and I plan on getting my license in one soon
After selecting an altitude in autopilot, I can't figure out how to get to that alt. There is no VS or FLC button. It just maintains whatever altitude it feels like.
I've found that too be a bit tricky myself! Once you set the altitude you want, you can scroll the right wheel forward and back to control the VS. So yes, there's no VS or FLC, but once you set the altitude, simply scroll and VS Should work. Not sure about FLC ATM!
Very nice review. Thanks! Just got it today. I like it. The only thing that is not working in mine is the carb heat. It works with the mouse, but not to my joystick assignment that works for all of my other aircraft. Haven’t tried but two of the liveries yet. Some time the stall drops a wing and has normal stall characteristics and other times it seems to just mush down. I don’t know which of these that would be correct. The rain effects seemed good.
As a real world Jabiru pilot stalls are generally a non event. A high nose attitude and slow flight can lead to a mushing descent, add a turning effect and a slight spin is immediately recoverable, not that the Jabiru 450UL is supposed to be spun. Each year a check flight is flown with a stall. It stalls at about 40-45kts, although with high angle of attack this airspeed isn't accurate. Release back pressure the nose drops, airspeed increases and recovery is in 100-200feet lost. Hardest part of flying them is slowing to get into shorter strips as they are slippery and will float on if excess speed is carried in.
I have that and must say it is the sweetest flying most stable DA single in the sim to date. I totally recommend it. The only (very VERY minor) glitch I have seen to date is the rudder pedals do not animate in the steam gauge 170 liveries. I am sure this is just a typo in the livery config they will fix in the next update. I would totally recommend this addon for anyone flying GA in the sim.
@@confuseddad2865 yeah, I was totally unaware of the odd stall behaviour when you try to Immelmann at full throttle, probably because I fly it like a Jabiru not a Spitfire. The thing is not aerobatic rated so I never tried anything crazy with it. Still it is not right. In normal flight with low/no power the170 does seem to stall too early but otherwise behaves exactly like a Jabiru, a sort of non violent mushy loss of altitude with the alarm going off and no real tendency to drop a wing. The real plane with power off does not really stall so much as mush about and lose height. It is still my favourite ride for a quick circuit at the local airport in game before work. That said the power on stall especially at high angles of attack DOES need a serious rework and they should knock a few knots off the low power stall as well. The recent 1.1 patch addressed a heap of other things (but made ground control worse) but they have promised to address the stall issues and fix the ground control they messed up in the November patch. They seem really keen to talk to the community and fix any issues quickly, and with the first patch coming out only a week after release they do seem to be keeping to that commitment. We will see how it goes.
@@Edam-Channel I agree, the developers even commented on people's UA-cam reviews which is a hell of a lot more than what most developers do. Especially the bigger names with more resources. The fact that they don't engage the community in a more human way like these chaps do leaves much to be desired.
@@Stringbean421 the current Patch is 1.3 which addressed a lot of issues though there is more to do. The dev on their facebook just announced " ... expect some updates to the Jabiru, including new colour schemes, refined flight model and maybe even a basic lesson or two." so support is good and ongoing.
Livery selection seems broken somehow. Couldn't set up liveries properly or have to try it many times. :( And how to see the kneepad in flight? It only appears in the hangar.
@@celt43 So if you were to taxi the plane, the plane would be perfectly on the ground, but if you were watching someone else taxi the plan, it would be floating a little bit
This would have been much better without that awful intrusive "music" playing. It drowns out the sound of the aircraft, why make a big deal how good it sounds if you smother the sound with crap "music"?
Nice review, thank you so much!
Thank you for providing this excellent aircraft! Can not wait to see what else you have in store! ;)
I'm a PPL and owned a couple of Jabiru's (currently own and fly a Jab UL-450 - similar to the J160). This looks very realistic.

I love the configurable cockpit, might be worth picking up just for that.
Absolutely! Too cool!
Nice video, love GA aircraft, so this is on my list to purchase
Thank you tons! :)

Looks like a must buy.
We definitely think so!

Only for other multiplayer aircraft not myself.
Spent 5 years flying the 160 170 and 230. These look pretty good.
First 15 seconds was the best part :D but.. in all seriousness, this is the best paid for airplane that has come out on MSFS, in my opinion at least.

What about the unrealistic flight characteristics? The stalling not happening at all?

Great video. Personally, I hope IRIS updates the Pilatus PC24 Business jet to MSFS2020 standards.

Is it available in the msfs2020 marketplace?
