Are we getting spoiled .. two videos this week.
Must have done something good to get this treat. 😂😂
Thus house looks identical to my Grandparents house i grew up in. .. but that was in Glen Falls . Upstate New York.
Not a suburb somewhere in Australia.
Same outside stone and brick. Same Cherizo flooring (my grandfather brother used to do that flooring and showed me how they used to make it. Its brllliant and i still love that flooring look). .
We had a granny flat build on upstairs on our house with a kitchette , bathroom, small lounge room and two bredrooms (for my brother Lex and I).
Anx our bathroom was Green , Aqua and Black with the stand alone wall shower like rhis one. And the deep inset large bath. Our flloor had a Keltie (Mythical Sea Dragon) in the bathroom floor.
But the house was on a small farm lot. (We are Navajo) and we had stables for the horses The big Brick garage for 2 cars ans Grandpas workshop we bever were allowed in. The brick laundry. A Brick sleep out with another kitchenette and bathroom my cousin Dawn lived in with her partner Jill.
The chicken coup, the dog kennels (2) , the vegetable garden. The little shed that the vegtable garden tools lived in.
The 4 Grapevines. And the small orchard of 4 apple trres , a lemon tree and two orange trees. And the two small horse yards for the horses.
We had the Bar with rhe Black leather not the red. And our wallpaper was Black ans Gold not red and gold. And fhe wallpaper was fuzzy. I think they called it flocked paper or something.
We also had my grandfathers buisness across the road . He ran a Gym and Wrestling School.
After my grandparents died. My brother Lex and I lived jn fhe house as we inherited it.
Lex got married. I bought his share of the house and both he and i ran fhe gym ans trained horses.
We were both away on the road working (he and i are professional wrestlers). When we got a call from my cousin that the house was on fire.
By the time it was put out not much was left. ..
And sadly what was left was past saving and had to be pulled down.
My brother and i sold up the Gym and the land and moved our families to Florida.
Where work was better and restarted fhe Gym and Wrestling School in Clearwater Florida. .
I still miss my Grandparents and the house. And its been over 20 yrs the house has been gone. And nearly 25 thar grandpa died. 28 for grandma.
But it felt just like you went into their old house and i was soeing it again.
Only we never let the house look that bad.

Of all the explores that I have seen you do, this one definitely looks like it could be haunted,(if I believed in ghosts). I love all the real wood and the art deco designs and fixtures. It's so strange that people who leave these houses leave personal momentos & photos behind. And I'll never understand why some people have to destroy what they can't have. Poor old beautiful house and poor little old garden. Thank you for the explore!🏚

Seems like a lot of hallways. Loved the Art deco and the red leather on the bar was neat! I was glad when you got out of there though. Usually it seems like the homes were inhabited by people “ just living and doing life”, but this one felt sinister. I was wishing you had a buddy exploring with you! Take care and have a great week! I actually lived in a old home once.
It was definitely Evil Presence there.
Foul odour would come and go. Landlord replaced all the drains and sewer pipes. But the smell kept coming back. Would hear footsteps occasionally. During the middle of the night. Bumping noises. I saw shadows
I decided to move. Out. No bull.

Absolutely beautiful home. Have not seen any exactly like this one before. Something that might be worth trying to get state heritage listed before it too late. They might decline it but never hurts to try. Sometimes council's will put an overlay on them too but depends on how much the council cares about heritage. Not enough people care about heritage in this country, its a disgrace.

The bathroom floor is this home is the same as my house pink Tarrezzo. My house and house next door were both built in 1940. The house next to my house ( has been owned by our our family and i lived-in for 18 months)is Art Deco.
They had a style of their own. Inside and outside the house, it is still Waterfall Art Deco inside ,mainly built-in furniture, and Art Deco Nouveau outside. a lot of the features you're pointing we're found in Art Deco homes. Such as cupboards that can open from two sides. Certainly in Australia. The town where I live is very Art Deco.

They possibly emigrated from Canada as there was a British Columbia progress report? (Or at least lived there for a while if the father was posted for work). It would be a nice gesture if someone, somehow, could return Janet's memorabilia to the family.

Such and interesting explore of an early 1950s Art Deco home, with the fashionable tiled facade, unique to South Australia, during this particular era. As you enter the home, you are greeted with grand internal architecture, impressive during the 1950s. However, as you enter the back of the property it appears as a rabbit warren, with the narrow passage way, leading outside to the garage and backyard. Great interaction Paul, denoting a creepy vibe. Thank you for this unique journey. It is interesting to see how people of means could design and build a home to include so many elegant and expensive details. When you explore the working farm homes of the same age we see just a few details as a refining touch in simple, remote, isolated homes. They stand out more and are more lovely and heart warming to me as they soften the sometimes harsh environment they inhabit. Inside an expensive urban home they feel more obligatory.

Before I saw the hole in the roof, I would of said they moved because the road is too noisy. I couldn't live near that main road, I'd fear for my cats.

Sounds like that home is under a flight path to Adelaide airport ..probably something fell from a plane and crashed through the roof ..happens more often than you think ..had a mates car get destroyed by a large bolt that maintenance had left on the plane wing as it took off from perth airport years ago ..as the plane climbed and turned it fell off and absolutely smashed his car .crumpled the front pillar. Anyway theres a theory to contemplate 🙂
