I have a similar set up with Kef LS50 metas and the LC62. Depending on the music, the KC62 makes a huge difference or a subtle difference. . When placed and set up correctly, you can’t tell where it is. Overall I love the sound from the system now. That said, for the same $ you can get some good towers which may be a better solution for some people.
Thanks for the review! I have the same LS50 Metas as yours. Right now, I'm using an SVS SB-2000 sub with them. Everything sounds superb, but I definitely want to try the KC62. I'm on several notification lists. Just waiting for an email that says "come and buy me!"
Buy the Kef S2 stands fill them with sand and lead shots , add Accoustic Gaias to the spike feet, place the spkrs a foot or more from the wall. Place them at least 2M apart to get proper stereo imaging. Treat your room with diffusers , the echo is strong. Put a rug in front of the listening position. I have the metas with a Klipschsub , they shud sound much better.
Nice little video... but there’s more to bass than adding a sub. The room sounds a bit hollow, to many hard surfaces and not enough soft furnishings and you should get proper speaker stands and fill them. Also have you set up the KEF app regarding how close the speakers are to the wall?
Next Video .. get a camera close up to that cone ..and crank it. Show people some cone movement. -ppl love to see that. Request some bass tracks at the end .. then do a 3rd video with those recommendations .. ( keep the song content short.. - avoid copyright blocks) - view view views!
So you've had this a while now any feeback/thoughts on impressions during homne theater applications. I'm considering teh KC62 for both audi and theater applications. My biggest concern with the KC62 is SPL capbilities of this little beast at immersive theater levels. ...have zero concerns for audio only applications.
I like portable subs. And need them. so. When you let it fall camera shake too hard. It’s heavy indeed. I’m considering. This sub but what would be the best portable sub available? I have the micro3000 from svs. Any other?
Agreed. The manual on the LS 50 2 show images of a future release on the app that will have EQ settings for “lively rooms”. But it hasn’t been released yet. Been 2 months and no new updates on the app. I wish Kef would release some updates with settings for this and the new Sub.
@@smithms i have the ls50w and where suprised how much the dsp fixed the sound in my no good apartment. But that was mostly the distance to back Wall. Some carpet and drapes maybe?

Hi Matt. I did a video on this recently where my thoughts were it would be decent for music but a definite no-no for movies. Do you intend on listening to this sub with movies? Interesting to hear how you get on?
I wasn't intending to use these for movies, but will give it a try later today and see how it sounds. Older TV so have to you the optical cable to have the LS50 - 2 work with it.
@@smithms Hi Matt. Thanks for sharing mate, how nice of you. Do you mind playing the following track: Hans Zimmer - Why So Serious? If you go to about 3:20 into the track. There is a crescendo in the violins and then wait a few seconds, you'll hear a passage of very low bass notes. I'd recommend keep the volume down at first because alot of subs struggle with this passage. Gradually turn it up as loud as you can comfortably go, can you hear any anomalies in the bass? And how is the balance between the bass and the loudspeakers as the passage continues? Can you let us know how that particular passage sounds please? Sorry .. detailed instructions I know lol! Thanks mate!
Put something like this ( images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/818A7MTnKVL._AC_SX450_.jpg ) on the floor in front of the speakers and you'll be amazed how much better the sound in your room will be.
Totally understand. I have a very open/bare room but making limited choices on what to spend money on...bought the KC62 instead! Thanks for the comment.
Appreciate the video, I have the same speakers as you and am thinking of getting the same sub. I might go wireless with it not sure yet. If that’s a stressless Reno I’ve gotta say you have some good taste.
You'll never get good sound from such an acoustically bright room. You have to physically soften the echo of the room. No degree of electronics can compensate for that.
I purchased these so I could adjust the height a little and pitch the angle up a little. isoacoustics.com/products/iso-stands-speaker-isolation-stands/
The real problem with the KC62 is that it turns off at low volumes. It's a very annoying problem. We don't always feel like listening at very high volumes and, on the other hand, in certain situations we can't. Many people complain about this problem, but KEF doesn't seem to be able to solve this serious problem. I have already sent the KC62 self to my seller, who has already contacted KEF, but so far, after more than 2 months nothing. I connected KC62 with my LS50W II, in manual or LFE mode, but the problem persists, What should be a good set is compromised by the KC62 problem. Unacceptable!
That asymmetrical speaker setup is KILLING ME! haha.
thanks for taking the time to share im kinda thinkn about one of these myself
Enjoy your set-up. The sub is a great unit, and integrates well with many loudspeakers.
Now, tame those reflections! :)
Thanks for taking the time Matt. I can't wait to demo these bad boys

A better and safer way to get it out of the box is to turn the box on its side , on the floor and then shuffle the inner packaging out.
Awesome Matt.

I'm sure that after a while you will have the sub dialed in and properly adjusted.
Good time to jump on youtube with a brand new highly sought after subwoofer... Very wise. =) Thank You!

Nice, I am listening on my LS50Ws and KF92, sounds OK, a little bit old...
Kf92 is superior.
Hi, how big si your listening room?
Mine is a 50 square meterse but nearfield listening position and y doubt between KC62 and KF92.
Tks.

Great micro sub
Thanks for the video, had shazam few songs 👍
Hey what kind of cables did you use to connect the sub to the speakers?
Thanks for the video, I’m looking forward to getting my own KC62. What’s the song playing at 3:50?
Bad Guy. Billie Eilish.

Nice gear! But very naked room. You can really hear that i The video.

@@smithms no mount of EQ can fix that I'm afraid. You really do need to consider some acoustic treatment or at a minimum soft furnishing.

wait for the colored cones!
How much is the Kef bin

Nice rig. But the speaker's offset is annoying.

@@smithms ok great. Would be interesting to know how it copes with harder music genres like drum'n'bass, house, hip hop etc at higher volumes!
Its sounds great. I'm uploading another video with samples with deeper bass. The issue is my iPhone that I'm using to record, doesn't do it justice.

What size fuse do I use for my Kef kc62 ?

Hey what Crossover Frequency do you use?
You'll never get good sound from such an acoustically bright room. You have to physically soften the echo of the room.
No degree of electronics can compensate for that.
That’s exactly what I was thinking. Maybe some room treatments would of been better first.
Nice setup though.
Adding carpets is an easy seamless way to darken things 🥶
What are the little speaker stands that you're using? thanks

Welcome
Room needs acoustic treatment, it's very harsh and reflective, you will struggle to get the best out of this setup without any acoustic treatment!
Are you keeping the Kef kc62 ?
Who wouldn’t?!? :)
It's an echo chamber.
You only need to look at the room and you how bad it’s going to make a good system sound bad.
Holy crap ... Your room sounds ..not good. So many reflections just of your voice.

Nice stuff but acoustic in your room is horrible.
Damn i wanted to be the first comment
Yes. I was shocked that I got it so fast. ordered it on Jan 27th.
