- My 1,185th kite video. This very unusual kite was designed by Alain Micquiaux, and is available direct from his website in a great colour range. Mine came from Into The Wind, who carry a smaller range of colours.

Alain already used this kite design several years ago on his poppy kites. I like them very much, especially when flown in a flock as a complete poppy meadow. That looks just awesome.
This kite is a clever design, Michael, good to play with, but not the kind of thing I would normally fly. The poppies are good, however, and as you say a flock of them looks great.
Now that's something I have never seen before. Very different and playful too. Thanks for showing us.
You can have a play with it next time you visit, Carl.
I ended up ordering one, thank you for making so many excellent kite videos!
I'm glad you enjoy them!
hey Jim. I like this kite. Never seen this one before. thanks for showing us.
It's a very strange one. I don't have it now - I gave it to a friend on his birthday as he was interested in it.
Very novel, I like it!
Thanks Jim.
Glad you like it - I hope for some better weather soon to make more videos.
Subh-haan-allaha al-humdo-lillaha allaha-hu-akbar superb quality and very nice combination
Thats something very different Jim. There must have been a lot of work put into the design.
It's basically a very simple construction, Graham, but the idea must have taken some working out. I hope all's well in the Forest of Dean. Your weather must be better than ours, anyway, but I guess you're probably too busy to enjoy it much.
Anyone know where to buy one in UK?
This one came from Into The Wind, and they still have them. However, I don't know of any other source except straight from the designer: www.alain-micquiaux.fr/boutique/switch-verso-jaune/ .
Where do I buy one?
I don't know. Mine came from Into The Wind in the USA, but they don't seem to have it now.
Looks like a fun kite to me! ITW has it marked as having (read: needing) 200# test line. In your opinion, do you think it's really that strong of a kite given it's small stature?
That would be extreme overkill, I think. I can't remember what I flew it on, and haven't flown it again (but must do soon) but I guess nothing over 100lb max, maybe even 50lb.
@@JimNicholls I'm thinking even 50# may be too much, in all but the strongest winds, but won't know until I get one and fly it. Thank you Sir!
@Jim Nicholls Exactly, 50lb is enough. I recommend stronger, it is for wire handling. A string that is too thin can be sharp on the fingers. 100 or 200lb is just to have a comfortable grip.
