  • I've used garlic and sulfur in my mineral for years and DON'T have deer die from EHD. Is it the special secret?
I talk more on this topic on the Exodus Outdoor Podcast: open.spotify.c...

100 lbs mineral, 2-3 granulated garlic 1 lbs feed grade sulfur if able. 10-15 lbs dried molasses.
Look at local regs on this. In iowa- we remove & cover before season & we don’t place near where we hunt (not doing this to attract deer to hunt of course & probably wouldn’t help anyways! 😜).
Do your own research. Listen to exodus podcast in description. EHD & latest strains are new to whitetail. For those wanting to assist in a devastating virus, wanted to provide info on what works for me. Do your own research & There’s a lot of data, studies & expertise out there for those that seek it. Good luck!

I’ve been in deer management 50 yrs . Absolutely the best mineral you can buy is SEA 90 ! There’s actually a book out about the research on it. I buy a 1 ton tote every yr . It is also an incredible soil input for plots and pastures. “I’ve never use ag chem on my sacred ground “ in the hearth of s Iowa EHD area I’ve had almost no EHD loss . Also no treated or non organic seed goes on my land

Yep. It’s here every year. I know 4 buddies that have lost bucks. So far… it’s NOT a bad or widescale outbreak. Hopefully it stays that way!!!

Skip, trying to remember from a previous Iowa Whitetail thread. This combination was referenced to help for ticks as well correct? My deer have more ticks this year than I have ever seen in Kentucky. Something I have observed and is odd to me... none of my bucks regardless of age class have near as many ticks as my does. Wonder if others have seen the same thing? Appreciate all the information you share in your videos!

HUGE help on ticks!!!! Deer on my farm are almost tick-free.
Side note: Talking to buddies who are vets in deer high fence or work with deer… they said a bad tick infestation can take up to 15% off a deers potential rack size. So, a deer that would have been 200” would be 170” if ticks are infesting them. Pretty wild. Healthy deer, less parasites, bigger deer! Yep- this is the mix for that!! Start mineral in february/march. 🥳
