I’m glad he’s been humbled and had courage to say something. It shouldn’t of taken a 4 year old clip resurfacing for him to hold himself accountable. She was such an easy, cheap target. He was arrogant and high on the success he did have but then shit on a women. Everything he said in that first interview disregarded all the SA and pressure that women in music go through. Hope he continues to learn and be open to apologizing.
The thing is, she will never say the things that people have said to her. And that’s what I don’t understand. She doesn’t go around degrading other artists but instead respecting them for what they do. And just because she stands up for herself like anyone else would, she gets called the bad guy. It’s truly undeserving.
People bash on her because she’s so successful and then they realize how successful she is and how that can affect their own career so they apologize to try and make themselves look better. Maybe don’t bash on people in the first place! Thanks for apologizing but too little too late!
Some people may think he's trying to get fame by mentioning Taylor. It could be, since he wouldn't be the first person to do so anyway. But aside from the fact that 2018 was the time when the internet hated Taylor, I could also see where he was getting at. He was trying to say that a lot of pop artists are famous for the dramas and less about their music, so people don't really buy their albums and would rather go to concerts and catch up with gossips, unlike hip-hop music that really focuses on the music. Of course that was a prejudiced view and he admitted it. And I could see how he could've changed his perspective over the years and is truly regretting his words. Taylor has been on top of the world with 6 albums including remastered ones since then, each of them was super successful and well-loved. With just a little research, anyone could see that Taylor is one of the few artists who nails the arts, the fame and the sales. And she's been giving genuine supports to smaller artists too by actually working with them. No one can question her actions or say she's doing bare minimum whatsoever. So if I were him I would regret a lot too, knowing the idiotic one line comment made years ago just shut down multiple doors of opportunity.
I think he's very honest about his error and I have no hard feelings as a Swiftie for what he said. It wasn't like he was talking down on her incessantly, just an out-of-scope observation. Of course, even mainstream hip-hop shares the same amount of drama, asserting dominance with flexing, and less about the music nowadays.
But even that doesn’t make sense? Rap songs are literally written about drama between artists. And those songs are also, sometimes, some of the ingest songs in rap music. Takeover by Jay-Z instantly comes to mind. We literally just saw this happen with Machine Gun Kelly vs. Eminem, which led to Eminem releasing one of his only good songs since Recovery. (In response to Bazzi’s original point, obviously)
What’s funny about this situation is that I found out about this guy because of Taylor Swift. She had created a Spotify playlist and included one of his songs and I was like who the hell is this guy he’s amazing and then cut to him saying what he said after. And I think it was on this same show and they were cackling the entire time he was giving his take. Anyways I’m glad he’s seen the light but he burned a bridge that didn’t need to be burnt but good luck to this man.
The apology doesn't feel that genuine. I mean would he still have apologised if Taylor's recent albums weren't such successful and well loved? Anyway I don't think Taylor really minded what he said either, if she did, we would have get an absolutely killer song about it 🤣
I love nothing more than seeing talented Humble artist rise to the top and Taylor is consistently that. You never see her in the press tearing people down. Even when people slagged on Katy Perry i don't join in, there is something terribly corrupt in our world why people get pleasure causing pain on others.
It shouldn't take him this long to apologize. PLUS, he only did it because the incident "made him look bad" and the video "kept on resurfacing every few months". He would never apologize if Taylor didn't become so big and popular. But good for him for owning up to his mistakes.
I'm glad he apologized hopefully it's because he's actually sorry not just because his interview resurfaced painting him in a not-so-flattering light And I hope Taylor understands that just because he said sorry doesn't mean he's owed forgiveness And if she does forgive him I wouldn't be her to not want to work with him
Women are given such a difficult time in entertainment and the lack of respect is absoluetly abhorrent. Taylor Swift has literally been working her entire life for the career she's built and I admire her for that.
He made those comments long ago, if he felt bad then why he wait so long to apologize. He waited till he had a public forum, why wait till now? Don’t buy it
what made the comment so ignorant ("she's literally selling out stadiums, but people don't listen to her albums") was that he made it while she was on a stadium tour promoting an album that people had bought a million copies of (not just "album-equivalent units) in its first week. but what makes it truly ironic is that the album was her first foray into hip-hop styles (Ready for It, End Game, etc.). whether anyone thinks that was a creative success, it was a commercial one nonetheless, and he claims here he was trying to make a point that hip-hop had essentially absorbed traditional pop. and if he'd listened to that record at all, he would've realized he was essentially half-right and half-wrong. there could have been a nuanced discussion, but misogyny usually trumps any opportunity for that.
It seems like, genuine people in this cruel world didn't have place, for example Taylor Swift, she was and I guess always a target of people for no f*cking reason and hating her for their entire life. The HECK!!! I love that woman, she save lives through her songs and the guts of people beating her down??? I will fight for her cause she do for us (Swifties).
when bazzi said that no one listens to taylor swift in the previous interview, the other guy egged him on kinda after saying "oh i haven't listened to her either" and he's so quiet in this interview during this bit. it's just so funny. he exposed himself there lol. also, the thing is if it was a snarky but TRUE comment then maybe it could've been ignored but taylor was on one of the biggest tours in history and her album reputation which was released an year before had sold 1m copies in the first week itself and the lead single off that album dethroned one of the biggest monster hit 'despacito' like why would you even bring her up 💀 now look your career is in the ditch 😭😭😭💀💀💀 tayvoodoo is real.

Fun Facts: Taylor really knows How to forgive and forget. Support is her strongest weapon. That’s why people Love her so much
Her songs are “great example” of that
to her its not really what u would call "forgive and forget", she just simply becomes indifferent to them. She even said and quoted it herself
She doesn't forgive she just forgets
Didn't she day herself she doesn't need to forgive to let things go and forget about it

His apology is so well putout…. I hope Taylor forgives him……thanks for letting your heart speak.

Normalize apologies like this. This was so mature, not many artists are confident enough to give apologies.

Just because she accepts your apology doesn’t mean she’ll work with you. Words have consequences, take it as a learning step and move on. Period
It ain’t that deep lol
You're acting like either Bazzi or Taylor Swift cares about you...
Its really not that big of a deal that lives have been destroyed, punishment had been given or something 🥴
