Congratulations on the new Fish.
That Puffer is beautifully cute.
Even although it sounds like you went through some ordeal, the good thing is you received the Puffer safe and sound. Now you can relax and simply enjoy watching it swim around and eat and grow.
I agree, I used to have a Puffer when I had a Marine Aquarium and getting the Puffer to eat was quite the mission.
However I know you will manage to encourage it to eat.

I am so happy for you! What a beautiful little guy you have. I have a female Schoutedeni named Nugget, that I adore. I had a male too, but sadly he passed. I am a puffer fanatic, and have many. Besides the Congo, I have a Pao Abei, 10 Pea Puffers, an Avocado Puffer, and a mated pair of Dragons and one of their babies. I have 3 tanks dedicated to breeding snails 😳 Puffers have amazing personalities and cute derpy bodies. Their eyes are what I am truly drawn to. They look into my soul and fill me with joy! 🤭🤗🐡🥰 LOL you should name him Johnny 🤣

Pea puffer kill all my fish in my tank 😢

Pea puffers are still puffer fish. I kept some with a betta with no issues but other times I have seen it be a blood bath
