I tend to agree with you, what with the bin men sorting through the bags quite openly that are heaped outside the front of these restaurants instead of to the rear, suggests an even greater desensitisation of the people that visit or live there. I am convinced it is no better in an area in the world where this practice is not the same, however having worked periodically over 30 years in various kitchens, l can confirm a wide and varied menu, is in fact actually a very bad thing. I would not eat out in such a place, coming from the perspective of an employee of back of house, as a KP. It is always going to be cheap there, as in most other parts of the rest of the world, due in part to how weak their currency is against ours, but bizarrely surrounding buildings suggest a certain few actual enjoy the same trappings of wealth as us, which begs the question of blatant corruption. Just working hard there, would not be enough, as l am sure almost everyone we saw, works hard in one way or another, with most working hard just trying to survive.👍
Pratunam is a special place good for clothes shopping and always did near and around the Indra Regent hotel . I used to live for 2 years in soi Moling just after the railway crossing in Makassan up the road from Indra Regent that was in 1983 only 40 years ago . Loved the place . Still in Thailand by the way after an epic journey across the country in various provinces
A little too gritty for some of the crowd that prefer sterilized shopping malls I suppose but I thought it all looked great. Being vegan, it's difficult for me to eat out even in Bangkok. You had a nice meal for around $20 US. If I'm staying overnight I'll usually find a Subways sandwich shop because they have a vegan chicken sandwich that's good and cheap. I can also get stuff in a Big C or a few things in a 7/11.
Bangkok is 3 hrs away from here, we went to look at Motorhomes in Bangkok. We have just returned from Hua Hin which was 6 hrs drive from here. Ban Rak Thai where we go for a little holiday is 17 hrs from here. I like driving.
You seen how dimly lit the sois are near our hotel, we never felt uneasy. But every city has it's no go areas. Tourist locations are ok most of the time.👌😏
@ We’ve been traveling to Thailand for the past 25 years, so are aware of the Penn effect, PPP, etc…just surprised by the rapid rise in prices there based on Les’s numbers.
One of great cities of the world Bangkok
Did not like it at 1st but it grew on me. Thanks for watching.
We like Bangkok, but only the more sterilized areas, especially in our more advanced age.
You are quite the adventurer!

My comment was censored, but you get the gist.
We do many trips all over Thailand, Bangkok is a hustle and bustle City but it has it's charm. Thanks for watching.
In my days as a firefighter we visited many restaurants just because they were posh we still seen things we should not see behind the kitchen doors.

Vegan is more difficult to find than Keto. Best wishes and thanks for taking time to comment. 🙏

680 THB sounds expensive.
50 for Roti?
Uffdah!
Location wise great price I think.
@@RetiredandLivingthedream We are going to be in for a rude awakening when we visit Thailand at the end of December, if inflation is that bad.
@@steveaustin1984 That's half the cost of here in Australia, 2 meals for $30au. A takeaway is now $20au each min.
