See Javed is indirectly giving this a religious angel just because you follow Quran that doesn't spirits don't exit only jins are the ultimate reality. Spirits, ghosts and jins all could be the reality or none.
He didn't say spirits don't exist or the fact that The Quran mentions that spirits don't exist. Please revisit the interview with a non-biased view. The Quran does mention all of it. The explanation was more about what is commonly termed as *bhoot* and not spirits.

Javed jaafrey believes in jinn because its in quran but he does not believe in bhoot because it's a concept from Hinduism. Hinduism is the only religion which has described different 'yoni' which refers to variety of unseen forces and their kind just like different animals etc.

Jaffrey only knows about Jin but for his information bhoots, jinn, demons all are different names of those energies. And Ranvir was also right about spirits. I have experienced the same thing in my neighborhood one kid who is hindu got possessed by a jin, he was young kid, who don't even know any other language than native Malayalam language. Suddenly he was possessed in the night and started saying pure Arabic nobody understood what he said finally a man who knows Arabic came and he understood everything. And it was another Muslim kids spirit
As a Muslim we believe in Quran which tells us that when a person dies his spirits goes in the world called "Barzakh" from where spirits can never leave. now u may say what about people who are possessed and claim to be XYZ person. it is because of a Jinn called "Qareen" it is a jinn which is with every human being since its birth.

Let me get it clear. Muslims follow the Quran. Their very faith is to believe everything that is there in the book. And yes, the concept of Jinn is present.
And if you study Islam closely, you will find that Muslims do believe in souls. But it's not like you were killed by someone, so now your spirit will go and avenge your death. When your killed, your soul will simply be taken to Barzakh, where it will remain until the Day of The Final Judgement. And your killer will be held resonsible for his deed on that particular, when there will be no escape for anyone.
Jinns - on the other hand - are the creations of God (just like humans). They have free will. They do this... they do that. And all those stuffs.
Just like human beings, Jinns also die. They will also come before God on the Day of Judgement.
Interaction between Jinns and humans is completely forbidden as per the human. If the jinns start disturbing a human, that person should seek help through Ruqya. But when a person initiates any sort of relationship with a jinn, its magic.
My point here is that Muslims do believe in souls, but not the spirits who roam around after one's demise. They have a very strong belief that the soul is the property of God. you understood him wrong.. bhoot (rooh/badrooh) is a concept entertained in Islam. You die as an a*hole of a person or in a violent manner, you remain in a state of limbo because of this unfinished business and thus are too "heavy" to let go of this world and move on to the world of spirits (aalam e barzakh) - I have personal experience with spirits (good ones)

I have three years experience about good lady ghost with a child, this was story when I was transferred from Delhi to Jaipur and was living alone on well established house at good locality, since my first day I felt some also exists in my room, but always ignored, but after one month I curiously investigate about existing ghost and soon knew about her name and story of her death, we means I and lady ghost were living happily together but after one year my wife with my son shifted at Jaipur at me but she doesn't liked and shown them their power in front of my Mrs and son.
