Hope Jiri takes his striking a little more serious, some boxing training would do wonders for him. But honestly at this point I doubt he can unlearn the hands down style.
Jiri is a true martial artist mentally. He means no one ill will. Even if punching their face in + he is respectful. Many fighters drop their opponent from a standing choke or step on them post-KO. Just is not a good look. Jiri would want to hang out and ask what he did right or wrong in the fight with his opponent. It is just his passion and life.

So annoying how Ariel constantly talks to fighters who clearly haven't mastered English and can only speak basic English. Yet Ariel completely ignores and disrespects that, and constantly uses words that Jiri definitely can't understand. Even to the very end with his last question, asking him about "Embarking on his training camp" like Jiri is good to understand the word embark. I don't know if it's just plain ignorance on Ariel's part, or if it's just his ego. Maybe he's so concerned with how he's sounding while asking questions, that he's not willing to simplify his questions with more basic English to be respectful to the level of English his guest has. Either way, you'd expect a higher level of understanding and awareness from a guy who supposedly has a journalism degree and has talked like he takes his job very seriously.
Absolutely agree. I think Ariel knows exactly what he's doing, either to sound smarter to the audience or maybe to make the fighter look dumb. It goes with the territory as he also pursues questions regarding issues the fighter obviously doesn't want to talk about

I'm a big fan of Jiri, but I'm a bit bummed to hear him making the comments about mistakes in training camp as being the reason for the loss. I can't tell you how many fighters I've heard leading up to a fight saying they've had a great camp or their best camp ever and they've done everything right. Then they lose and change their mind and talk about how bad the camp was. Every now and then you'll hear fighters stand by camp being good, but they just didn't feel right on the night and didn't show up. But I guess it's somewhat natural for fighters to convince themselves of certain reasons they lost on the night. To be fair, it may be a good thing to keep them motivated and not discouraged if they can place the blame on something other than their skills.
fighters cannot really say "the camp was absolutely terrible" before a fight. Its not really a good strategy to give your opponent this kinda of information
@@Dzenda-qg4hr They can and they have. But another thing they can do if they didn't have a good camp but don't want to say it, is just don't say anything at all. You don't have to lie about it. And Jiri was bringing it up on his own without being asked. Talking about how great his camp was. There's a big difference between just not talking about it, or if a reporter asks about camp and you just give a generic "it's been good" and what Jiri did, in going out of his way to make it sound like he had a life altering camp and was rejuvenated and coming into the fight reborn as a new warrior. That's the only reason I'm holding him accountable.
