  • How to skim on Reading! There's a NUMBER of ways to go about it (some of which I really don't recommend...), which is why I made this video about how YOU can go about skimming!
There's a few things you need to keep in mind when you choose the right skimming method for you. It's a mix of what score you're looking for, how fast of a reader you are, and how much you've prepped.
Hopefully this guide is helpful. LMK if you have any questions about our approach!

I’m taking the ACT in a week and I really want to utilize the passage glancing technique, but I can’t seem to grasp it. When I look through the text, I just see a wall of text and I can’t seem to filter out the important words and sentences. I just see this wall of text when I glance at the paragraphs and when I try to pick at a few words I finally see and process them so I can get the main idea of the paragraph, it’s already been over 3 minutes. Is there any tips you have that I can use to help me practice this? Or maybe one of your videos or live streams have something I can use? (Btw, I’ve seen so many of your videos, they are very helpful! Thank you!)

Hi! I'm about to take the ACT and I ran out of official practice tests and I've heard that unofficial ones are no good. I recently found a bunch of so called ACT tests and they have form numbers on them so I was wondering if that is good prep material and if these tests are official but unreleased due to the form numbers. Please reply! Thank you.

From my POV, many students would like an in depth explination or example of what you are doing. I know you do have some videos like this, but like you said not many comprehend. Also, not many students have the finantial ability to get your tutoring. I understand you need to make a living, for some it just isn't that possible.

Hey there Jacob! Great questions, and I totally get your POV. We actually have videos where we demo the strategy and discuss it in depth. Check out this playlist for a slew of such videos! ua-cam.com/video/U6A7k08uqmE/v-deo.html
I brought up our paid content simply because some students want that extra help and assistance, and that's where our services work to serve students.
But I don't want to make it seem like we hold back on our YT content. There's a lot here even to answer the questions you have, and the playlist will give you some guidance on that.
      Hope that helps!

I am struggling to focus on this video. Some people cannot just listen to this guy talk for 11 minutes. Don't you know visual stimulation is needed?
